  1. Updated standings or number correct and wrong. I have not tallied them yet as you can see. Dwindling participation in this pick em . Only 4 participants week 4. Muledriver Correct-3, 4,1,3 Wrong-3,2,2,1 LcBears04 Correct-4,4,2,3 Wrong-2,2,1,1 Temptation Correct-4 Wrong-2 captainobvious Correct-4,4,1,2 Wrong-2,2,2,2 gonzoron Correct-4,4,1 Wrong-2,2,2 ptr Correct-6,4,1,2 Wrong-0,2,2,2 WCGrad92 Correct-2 Wrong-4 FormerFalcon Correct 4 Wrong 2 This weeks games Bloomington South at Terre Haute South (if bhss gets their qb to look around and see all their weapons and get them the ball and the oline blocks a little better this team could still be a top ten in my opinion. But until it happens i think they are in for the long haul this year with southport cn and chatard still remaining. Hard to see them finishing above .500) Guerin at Columbus North Hard one to pick Southport at Bishop Chatard Another tough one to pick . Terre Haute North at Bloomington North
  2. Bloomington North has a good team this year. Contender ..... . uh not quite . Their qb is a soph and he has some targets that are juniors. Maybe .. . .. . . Maybe a contender in a year or two. They would lose to cathedral or new pal or any of the other top teams by 4 scores.
  3. Opps I cant go back and edit the first post hope everyone sees the fourth game that i didnt see because it isnt being played on friday night , 3A Gibson Southern plays at Southport on saturday.
  4. Updated standings win/loss tally Check if you think i may have made an error. Muledriver Correct-3, 4,1 Wrong-3,2,2 LcBears04 Correct-4,4,2 Wrong-2,2,1 Temptation Correct-4 Wrong-2 captainobvious Correct-4,4,1 Wrong-2,2,2 gonzoron Correct-4,4,1 Wrong-2,2,2 ptr Correct-6,4,1 Wrong-0,2,2 WCGrad92 Correct-2 Wrong-4 FormerFalcon Correct 4 Wrong 2 Week 4 games. Bloomington North at Bloomington South I think this years contest will be the closest in the series in a while . Going with south at home but wouldn't be extremely surprised if either team won. Columbus North at Roncalli Terre Haute South at Terre Haute North
  5. Im wondering if big #77 is playing tonight for south. If he plays and the senior rb is able to go i think south should still pull a close win over nborth this year. But you never know north has been beat by south 7 or 8 in a row..... May be their year to knock south off....
  6. Another stat from the martinsville loss was that south had 100 yds in penalties. By the way martinsville lost tonight to greenwood 31-18
  7. Well at this point i feel like 5a is still up for grabs. Valpos big win over penn was impressive and a 63 zip win over laporte ,new pal had a nice win over a carson steele 'less trojan team. I watched that replay on youtube congrats to the dragons for coming in and beating a top 6a program just like valpo did when they rolled over penn (penn still geting votes in 6a top 15. ) . Cathedral did very well in it's win over moeller. It is a long season new pal has an advantage with the weak schedule that will probably leave their roster with little to zero injury issues. Which the other teams do not have the luxury of that is just the reality of it. I think that is the main reason i would give new pal the edge . I'm not sure how new pal and speagal would fare vs a mic schedule or cathedrals intrastate schedule. Hopefully cathedral and valpo possibly dwengver make it into the playoffs with minimal injuries so we can see some competitive games . I think you have to pick new pal until someone else proves otherwise.
  8. I am probably one of the few members of this board that witnessed the last c. east loss in the hhc. And i was just in bedford for work that day/night And im neither a east or bnl fan was there on the request of someone else. But it was a good event to take in. If i remember east had a slew of turnovers . Remember the next day reading the bedford paper said something like bnl beats the beast from the east. lol
  9. Found this article bout harrel which is from 2018 may be someone already shared it with the g I'd. . . . . . . Anyways Being from bloomington I had heard about him a long time ago . This article has a pic of him . Studious looking fella https://amp.courierpress.com/amp/725863002
  10. @ptr Todays article in paper says coach mo wouldnt be surprised if senior rb is held out at thn game this friday. . Still no update on the big d lineman that went out ....... Paper doesnt do a good job like they used to still missing rex kirts. Looking at the stats from last friday South had over 250 yards rushing (and outgained mville in total yards) were in or near redzone a couple times without any points and the qb had those two picks . If he can get a bearing on his passing game they still could have a good year. I knew martinsville would be good this year but i expected south to be better. Had the qb had a better game and the rb and d lineman not been injured the teams would have been very close on overall strength. Martinsville was more physical and enthusiastic all the way up into the stands. Castle really went off on new albany bloomington north looks to be solid this year. Could be a tough sectional .
  11. After two weeks standings are (correct me if i made a mistake tallying up the numbers) : Muledriver Correct-3, 4 Wrong-3,2 LcBears04 Correct-4,4 Wrong-2,2 Temptation Correct-4 Wrong-2 captainobvious Correct-4,4 Wrong-2,2 gonzoron Correct-4,4 Wrong-2,2 ptr Correct-6,4 Wrong-0,2 WCGrad92 Correct-2 Wrong-4 FormerFalcon Correct 4 Wrong 2 Week 3 Games. Bloomington North at Terre Haute South Bloomington South at Terre Haute North ( if souths #1 rb and d lineman come back off injury i would go with them but i really have a few question marks at this point. THN hasn't beat south in a long long time. ) Southport at Columbus North
  12. @ptr Souths #1 rb left game in 1st quarter as did their jr 6'4 260 d lineman both of those guys sat the scrimmage both were injured and out by halftime tonight. Add in the first year qb and a few interceptions and a martinsville team that out hustled and wanted to win more and well you wound up with a 22-6 loss. All the energy was on martinsville sidelines and stands. South filled their stands but didnt seem as loud as the opponent stands. The better team won tonight .
  13. @Lysander Great so if i decide to make the trip week 9 there will be home and away bleachers. Not that i wouldn't enjoy sitting with chatard fans but it would seem odd sharing bleachers . I think there are a few instances in the state where that is the reality but i cannot remember which schools only have one side stands.. Last years contest between bhss and chs was not a good one for south. Hopefully it will be a better game this year.
  14. Looking at chatard's football stadium on google maps. Do they not have visitors stands?
  15. Records after week 1 . Pretty sure i got these all right but if you are wondering you might go back and check ..... Muledriver Correct-3 Wrong-3 LcBears04 Correct-4 Wrong-2 Temptation Correct-4 Wrong-2 captainobvious Correct-4 Wrong-2 gonzoron Correct-4 Wrong-2 ptr Correct-6 Wrong-0 WCGrad92 Correct-2 Wrong-4 Games for week 2. Bedford NL at Bloomington North, Columbus North at Columbus East Martinsville at Bloomington South (castle looked to have a deer in the headlights effect and are young. i still dont have a good idea how good the panthers are yet. Martinsville will be a test going with home team ) Perry Meridian at Southport Princeton at Terre Haute North Terre Haute South at Harrison
  16. This quote near the end of the article. "Martinsville might have a special unit. The Artesians shut down Columbus East in the preseason scrimmage, a catapult effect for this performance." http://www.wbiw.com/2019/08/24/artesians-drink-from-the-well-as-stars-drown-in-opener/ Are the artesians a threat for a 4a title? Did they really shut down c east in the scrimmage . Or was it a scrimmage the c east cared nothing about and martsinville went all out?
  17. The article i read said martinsville had a great scrimmage vs c east and their win over bnl was a carry over of sorts from their scrimmage . South over castle was hard to gauge in my opinion. I was impressed by castles ending at east last season. Heard they returned 20 starters. The two that didnt return must have been all americans because they didnt look good last night i am sure south had a little to do with it but it is only week 1 .
  18. Martinsville with a sound victory over bnl and bhss topples castle , looks like this years game should be a good one. Martinsville beat south last regular season convincingly only to lose in ot in the sectional at south to end season. Any artesian fans left here?
  19. Where are the mid state followers ? I know there are some DC Whiteland and martinsville followers here. Being a bhss panther alumn i follow martinsville a tad. Anyone?
  20. I for some reason had thought Schott was starting from his freshman season. Really good qb.
  21. After reading the Paper this morning and coach's comments i feel a bit more comfortable with last nights scrimmage. Starting rb was sitting out because of a hamstring he suffered during track season but has been practicing just a precaution sort of thing. Qb will be a big factor this year, if he learns to manage the game we will have a good year, south just didn't show much of their passing game so i didnt really get to see how his passing game is. Unsure about if he can toss the ball across the field. Any other CI fans chiming in on their scrimmages? Southport has a senior qb correct ? Been starting since freshman year i think. Eddie something. How did CN look ?
  22. Castle ( hate to go against south but they looked pretty rusty last night. Castle ended well last season with a strong effort at C east castle by 6 ) Northview Avon Central B North Southport
  23. BHSS vs Castle Terre Haute North vs. Northview Columbus North vs Avon Terre Haute South vs. E Central Bhsn Vs Greenwood Southport vs Roncalli.
