Question Coach: curious...if you were willing to stream the game and the IHSAA was willing to broadcast it, what is the "issue"? Who is stepping in and enforcing this rule - the IHSAA? Are they somehow losing a bunch of revenue on a high school football game? Are you aware of anyone else who might stream it? -

(not) awesome! Appreciate the info...likely saved my big screen from having brick thrown through it as I struggled to get the game on IHSAAtv. So happy 😕 the IHSAA Champions Network swooped in and "fixed" this for us...talk about a turd in the punchbowl ruining the mood...8 - / -

Looks like this game will be streamed on the IHSAA Champions network. I'd still rather be there in person but with this early start-time, not going to happen... ; ( -

Any posters from Triton Central left on the GID? I haven't seen one yet... -

Will this game be streamed? The 5:30 CST kick-off may prevent me from making the trip. -

Might depend on your point of view and definition of "being difficult"; - ) History suggests Goebel prefers to play on Friday nights whenever possible so the team's weekly schedule is consistent. However, any time there has been a long drive involved, Monrovia, Lawrenceburg, and 2019 at TC, he has typically gone with a Saturday game. I understand the way this works is visiting team choses the day and home team, the time. Back in 2019 when MD chose to play on Saturday, TC responded with an 11 am start time. This put MD on the bus around 5:30 am with a plan to arrive an hour early and also take an hour break along the way for food and short workout. However, there were some traffic issues and MD arrived about 30 mins late and never seemed to "get off the bus". MD seems to want to avoid any chance of repeat performance. Sitting is classes is not all the different from sitting on a bus so aside from the half-day of school missed, they should be fine. Several members of the coaching staff are MD teachers as well so they might find a clever way to do some readin' & (w)ritin', while ridin' on the bus... No way to know what all went on here but at least we know the day & time at this point. 5:30 CST will make it difficult for some MD fans, especially those with kids in grade school, to get to TC in time for kick-off so hopefully this game will be streamed. Good luck to both teams & may all fans travel safely. -
Ole Miss vs Wayne brew haha

Sigh🙄...many, if not most of us, come to these forums to get away from the political ignorance coming from both sides these days. Can't we simply let the GID be about high school football, please... -

IMO, this is 100% on the coaches. With 5 Un-Sportsman's-like penalties: not 1... not 2... not 3... not 4... but F-I-V-E penalties, the coaches had plenty of warning this was coming. The coaches either chose to look the other way, effectively giving their approval to the behavior, or they were incompetent. They could have taken any/all kids involved off the field IMMEDIATELY, thus sending a clear message to any other players that this type of behavior would not be tolerated. Crisis avoided. -

I noticed that but Harrell's is sometime off the mark. Seems sort of a "Best Guess" effort on their part. Fwiw, MaxPreps has it listed at 7 pm, Friday. Who knows. -

If anyone learns the day & time of this game, pls post. Assume it will be another Saturday game, considering the 3 hour drive, but who knows. -
MD will be making the 3 hr bus ride north to visit TC next weekend. The last time MD came calling back in 2019, TC was not all that hospitable, handing the Wildcats a big "L". If I recall, there was a bit of gamesmanship last time with MD asking to play on Saturday and TC responding with an 11 am start time. Such a thing might be used as a little motivation this week. Stay tuned, we'll see...

I have it on good authority that @Tango has one of the prem-o smartphone plans and still has lots of data left this month... LIVESTREAM! LIVESTREAM! LIVESTREAM! ; - ) Good luck Tigers, bring home the sectional crown and everyone travel safely!

I know it will be broadcast on local radio but will the Memorial vs Northview game be streamed online?

I will make certain his Dad is aware of your praise, not certain if he is a GID follower or not. Tyler has come a long way. He has really put in the time to get stronger and quicker, and his motor never stops. While he has never been fast, his first 2-3 steps are very quick, which allows him to get through the O-line before he can be blocked, often untouched. Travel safely MP.

Anything can happen in high school football and any team with both a strong passing & running game always has a chance to win any game they play. Best of luck to both teams tonight!

Running up the score...106 - 0
MDAlum82 replied to MDAlum82's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Question: were neither of these games played under the running clock rule or does that go away in playoffs? IDK. That is a lot of pts to put on the board with a running clock. If they were still passing the ball, even with non-starters, that would be poor sportsmanship too, IMO. I get the whole "the younger kids need reps" too argument but reps against this kind of competition provide no value to anyone. Do they run out their own Cub team when their Reserves "need reps"? Doubtful. -
Running up the score...106 - 0

I don't know that is the score alone that defines "running up the score" in my mind but rather how it was done. In this case, the starting QB scored the 2 pt conversion to make it 106 - 0. WTH? Even when a team's 3rd, 4th string is in the game, not passing the ball, etc - games can still get out of hand. Only so much a coach can do but leaving your star QB in to score a meaningless 2 pt conversion seems the epitome of poor sportsmanship IMHO. Karma can be a real B*$#@! -
https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/04/us/inglewood-morningside-high-school-football-game-trnd/index.html A Los Angeles high school is apologizing after facing criticism that its football team didn't simply defeat an opponent but rather trounced the opposing squad by a score of 106-0. Inglewood High School Principal Debbie Tate issued the statement on Monday, saying that her school's team did not conduct themselves "with sportsmanship or integrity and the final score was unacceptable." "Our administration and coaching staff believe that athletics should be a source of pride for our community. While Friday's game did not reflect our best judgement as administrators, the Morningside High School and Inglewood High school football players, and their coaches have worked hard all season and deserve our respect," Tate said. Both schools are in the Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD), and school district officials said they are "saddened beyond words" in regard to the game's score and will conduct an investigation. "We will conduct a full investigation and take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that a similar outcome never happens again under an IUSD athletic program," county administrator, Erika Torres, said in a statement. "We value the hard work and commitment made by every student athlete and regret these actions have taken the focus away from the positive strides our programs have made at IUSD." Inglewood High School's quarterback is UCLA-bound and passed for 13 touchdowns in the game. The team scored 56 points in the first quarter, and by halftime was up 83-0. The most controversial move came when Inglewood's head coach went for a two-point conversion when the team was already up 104-0, tying Hilo High School in Hawaii for the highest-scoring high school football game in the last five years. "He used their star quarterback, so it was to be expected," Morningside football player Dayvon Scruggs told CNN affiliate KABC. "We came in the game knowing that we were going to lose, but at the same time we still fought to the very end and didn't quit and that's what really matters." However, his coach Brian Collins, who is a first-time head coach, told the Los Angeles Times it was a "classless move," but he was proud of his players for not quitting. Fallout from the game blew up on social media where Dick Vitale agreed with Collins. "How can the Coaching staff of INGLEWOOD HS California feel good about themselves?" the legendary sports announcer. "SICKENING & a DISGRACE to the Title of COACH! Congrats on teaching good sportsmanship. U SHOULD BE FIRED!" CNN has reached out to Mil'Von James, Inglewood's head coach, for comment. In a letter Principal Tate posted to Twitter, she said James offered his apologies to Morningside and the school community at large. Even though the game's score was high, it doesn't even touch the record set back in 1927. That is when Haven High School in Kansas defeated Sylvia High School by a score of 256-0. Thoughts?

Jets - I am not the subject matter expert but, in my experience, this is not a common situation. However, I don't know for certain if the two in question are truly brothers or possibly just cousins. While it is not a common last name, given the teachings of the catholic faith, family trees tend to have many branches, especially on the West Side. Family "shrub" would be more apropos for some ; - ) I would defer to Cappy, or another NP follower to confirm the family ties/not. One reason I would cite as to why this is uncommon is the tuition discount for families with more than one child in school at the same time. It used to be nearly 50% for 2nd child but may have changed. Not to say half the MD tuition isn't still a hefty amount though @ ~ $3,700. If they are indeed brothers, there must be a good reason in the parents eyes why they sent them to different schools.

I understand NP has developed quite a passing attack this year. IMHO, a strong passing attack can be a great equalizer. Most high school D's have trouble with a really good passing game. This game could get interesting if MD cannot get pressure on the QB.

Thanks Globemstr - nothing but respect for Linton. That game was worthy of Regionals, if not higher.

Something that was key to MD coming out on top but hasn't gotten much attention was the punting of Eli McDurmon. Twice in the 4th quarter, with MD forced to punt from deep in their own territory, McDurmon responded with consecutive punts of well over 50 yds. I have not seen any stats from the game but his 2nd half avg. had to be > 50 yds.
