  1. All those public school kids we stole from "you name it" township are going to have to pay for their free tuition now...
  2. Cathedral has an exploratory committee currently ongoing after the disaster with Lightgate last year. Arlington is still in the mix as 1 of 3 possibilities. Then we only have to raise $20mm. I'll start a Go Fund Me shortly..
  3. Also, welcome home Doug Armstrong. Best defensive schemer in the state. Barth plus Army = success.
  4. Fab performance by the Irish. We actually ran the damn ball. Kept it close in the first. Scoop and score at the Irish 5 to end the half for the 17-0 dagger. Irish D looked strong. One down lineman on D for quite a few plays. Zachary with a miracle 100 yard defensive return for Giants to get on the board. Monkey off the back. Brownsburg, @St.X. @Chatard in the next three. If we can compete, we have a contender.
  5. Irish are winless in our last 15 games with Ben Davis going clear back to the 80's. Always had our number. Irish defense is very senior laden. QB and O-Line are Irish concerns. Irish RB (Jaylen Bond) and WR (Slaughter and Albron Johnson) are good. Surprised how small the Ben Davis O-Line is. I think I'm betting the points under in this one.
  6. Is Muda shedding his "all public schools are inferior" scorn? Is Muda alluding that the woke BS of "organized youth sports being a privilege" is un-American? Man, even a Frankfort socialist is turning the corner. Maybe Kamala is in trouble. It's doubtful with the emotional stooges out there with the nonsense above as the battle cry, but this post is a nice development. Welcome to capitalism, Muda. Maybe the American dream is alive albeit on life support. Hegemony was always a pipe dream.
  7. Hilarious. Coming from a Westfield guy. Every time I drive through Chatham Hills and Brookside, it's littered with Westfield Rocks football signs. Check yourself. You live in the least diverse, most opulent school district in the state (which includes Carmel). I grew up in the Marion County hood and know everything there is to know about almost every IPS district. There is no IPS. Marion County is the new IPS. You d-bags in the HHC are the new Marion County. When you get some sprawl from North Central, Pike, and LN, maybe Westfield can be competitive like Brownsburg and Carmel. I'd give it 3 years. Careful who you're criticizing. You'll be taking all the IPS scraps shortly and it might actually get you guys to the promised land.
  8. I was told this is the only such rule in the Marion County publics. Why Streiff left long ago and why they've never had real traction in any sport besides tennis. They should be winning with similar frequency to Ben Davis and Warren in all sports with those numbers. If Coach Hart isn't in the school managing student athletes and test scores, he'll end up like the rest.
  9. North Central has 700 freshmen boys in their school. They have plenty to work with. Their problem is their 2.0 GPA rule for Washington Township. That said, the players are in the school. Same demographic as Warren, Ben Davis, but perhaps a shade more affluent.
  10. Nope. It's the recipe for building a winning program in a rural city with 3200 in population.
  11. Sure. One example for you: I live in Syracuse, Indiana, and a football monster could be built at Wawasee High School in no time. I'd spend my summers in the football leagues in Warsaw, Goshen, Northwood, Columbia City, and I might even snipe an all-star from Wakarusa. I'd work the parents about building a powerhouse. I'd find a few local sponsors (maybe the largest duck manufacturer in the country in Maple Leaf Farms or the largest boat manufacturer in the state in SmokerCraft) to fund the new football extravaganza. I'd probably throw a few fundraisers at the Frog Tavern or the Oakwood Resort. And, I'd use the money to fund coaches and a youth program that was sought after across Kosciusko, Elkhart or Wabash counties. Since all those school districts are less than 30 minutes away in different directions, I'd work on transportation to make sure all the kids could get to school/practice in a timely fashion. Then I'd rustle up a past Wawasee High School or Goshen HS legend to be on my staff. And I'd use the money from the Wawasee Football Frog Tavern Silent Auction to hire some top tier coaches. Hell, I probably wouldn't even have to worry about paying coaches more since I had so much tax money. After a couple season of above average success and a sectional win or (God willing) a Regional win, I'd broadcast the Best Football Program in the 574 area code out to the neighboring 4 counties. Then, I'd have move-ins from as far away as Elkhart, Ft. Wayne, or Wabash that would come for the party. Hell, they could even live on beautiful Lake Wawasee, Lake Syracuse, Lake Tippecanoe, or one of the Barbee finger lakes. You could contend in 5A in under 3 years. So yeah, spend more time and try harder... PS. The untapped gnarly talent is hiding in that Amish community. I'd find Grand Master Graeber in Napanee and I could probably open up the flood gates of hard nosed kids that haven't ever been on a football field that would contribute immediately.
  12. Nope. Families move all the time for better opportunities for their kids. Hell, you don't even have to live in the school district now. The IHSAA doesn't have as much oversight as the athletic directors for the schools. If you make a compelling case, it's very doable. There are 100s of these instances annually across the state. You know this. Yep. I misspoke. The IHSAA rarely intervenes though.
  13. False. Chatard gets plenty of players from across the Indy Archdiocese. Two of their quarterbacks are Cmehil boys from St. Michael's (believe their house actually backs up to Ritter). And two of their other stars are also from the west side diocese and St. Michael as well, Dan Adams and Jack Davis. Accusing Cathedral or Brebeuf of pillaging players from all P/P middle schools is just inaccurate. All schools (especially P/P) have to recruit students for their lifeblood. Cathedral is no different than the rest. I still believe any public that builds a program and recruits/spends time on the summer circuit can garner similar results. As soon as the IHSAA granted open enrollment for all publics, the success factor should have been revoked.
  14. Yes. '91 Ben Davis was nasty. Cathedral lost in a barnburner in the 3A Final to Dwenger that year (34-27 on a last minute fumble return for an TD) and I think we lost 42-7 to that Ben Davis team in the first game of the season. Steve Holman was one of the nastiest RBs in state history. The line was the real star of that team though. Both sides.
  15. Miuuuuuudaaaa. Muuuuuda. Where art thou? Eating ice cream in Rossville thinking up ways to weaken the IHSAA and the class warfare no doubt. #hegemony
  16. Open enrollment should have nullified the Success Factor. But, in Muda's world, it's the perfect equality. If any of you want to sell me on a great program with great coaching and championship potential for free with an advantage over a private that has to pay thousands to possibly play their senior year, I'll kiss my own arse. To even say an East Central has some 4A disadvantage to Cathedral is laughable. Their facilities are absolutely incredible (looks like Carmel), they can recruit the entire county like Cathedral (and every Marion Co school but without competition), and have plenty of donor muscle. As long as every public in the state has some sort of competitive equity regardless of coaching, enrollment, or facilities, Muda will be happy. Socialist football is miserable though. Seek out a better situation or build better. It's really pretty simple. Irish Football has been generationally built and that is something that should not be discounted. Also 0-2 the last two years for the 'ship.
  17. When Westfield is whining about Carmel amenities, one must really question the IHSAA P/P hegemony. You really don't have a pot to piss in, Miuuuuuuuuda. And, if you think the indoor Carmel practice facility is for the band, I'll be happy to give you a tutorial on the mental acuity of our current President or the strength of our Southern border and ironclad immigration policy. Poor Muda. He just wanted some equality for all the destitute public schools that got dealt a rotten hand.
  18. Muda. Muuuuuuda. Just jet setting around living the private school lyfeee. Just glad the we P/Ps can minimize and capitalize on all the poor Public schools. I just drove by Carmel's new indoor practice facility on my way down US-31, but I almost missed it because their 15,000 seat stadium clouded my view. Since Cathedral is getting evicted from our grass IPS rental (and substandard stadium by Center Grove's thermometer among others), we're searching for a new home field. Maybe Frankfort will host us?? In the meantime, we'll take any and all public players that want to play for the imperialistic private school. Free tuition and no academic standards for all incoming football players.
  19. Agree. Gross games. Publics and privates have equitable titles, but the quality of football sucks. Cathedral v EC would have been awesome. And it would have only disrupted the balance by a game.
  20. Just hoping the Irish don't try 4 onside kicks in the same game again. Maybe giving the D a chance with a king field will help them even more. See you there. Sam's Silver Circle for pre-game from 4-6p on your way south.
  21. In Van Krisoloff I Trust. Top 5 ranked kicker in the sophomore class nationally. If it is a kicking battle, I'm taking the Irish. CoachP doesn't kick outside the 30 though...
  22. Happy to report that Cathedral has two new Holy Cross brothers teaching at the school this year (and both math teachers)! It is no coincidence that Roncalli's downfall has correlated with Center Grove's rise. Roncalli doesn't have unlimited access to the southside stable anymore. Hoping they can find their mojo soon. The rivalry is a rivalry when Roncalli is competitive. Congrats on retaining the bell, Irish!
