  1. Homestead pulling away at the end of 3rd. Run game starting to take over against sparty. Carmel 28 Homestead 7
  2. Like what u did there! Nothing wrong with the good ole hundred dollar handshake to compete with those scholarships eh!? I kid..I kid..!😁
  3. Almost every Kroger where I live has sushi..for a high school to offer it is phenomenal n extremely rare..if i could send my kid to a school that offered it i probably would.. heck..i was happy for pizza day back in my day..
  4. Never knew that's where the award came from..awesome! I picked the Irish in another thread..ive only seen a few programs (literally 3) best np..they are playing up I believe and represent an elite 5a team..if a tourney loss were to happen it would have to come by one of the best...in rolls chs..should be a classic.
  5. The HCC Had a good year. Imo it's extremely tough to break into the champions club in 6a. You have a few programs that are just used to winning during tourney timesn that mindset may help when ur dealing with high school kids..for others to believe in u, u must first believe in yourself..the storied programs have students who have the mindset of "I can't bear to lose to this team". What will help these teams is a)not playing each other so early in sectionals n b)younger kids seeing gr8 teams seasons ended by the superpowers that be..every hero needs a villain!!
  6. Compete with and beat are 2 different things. Homesteads offense looked better with the new wrinkle, however they have not locked horns with a Carmel in a few years. Homestead may be able to score..its their defense that will determine their fate n yes i know "Defense wins championships" Until sparty slays that giant I will defer to history. If they do ill eat crow
  7. That's what separates a good program from a legit 6a powerhouse..next man up can go DIII or naia..in high school that's major!
  8. Not sure..if ur 5a program was a true football factory they might give mighty 6a a battle..i guess it depends on the year..we all see generational talent in every class..these two are similar to 1a-2a, 3a-4a..heck the year snider won 5a dwenger beat them n won 4a..i know the topic of independence n out of conference games has been spoken of..maybe if the elite 6a scheduled the elite 5a we could have a better grasp..i can dream can't I? Has there ever been a 6a champ that lost to let alone scheduled a 5a power???
  9. They did have 2 slots on the schedule open before adding Carroll n homestead..the teams that consistently made deeper playoff runs still had about the same outcome as before. Getting beat by Penn twice or whomever is slated out of conference really held no direct competitive advantage. That being said (wrote)..yes seeing the talent Indy schools bring to the field does open eyes..after you've seen it once or twice you know what to expect..some teams who don't win sectionals on the regular might take a year or two to understand that..
  10. Homestead passed the eye test earlier in the year..an exact replica of carmel last year (even their secondary). Their injured rb was a stud whom changed the way teams schemed against them. Losing a player of his caliber might have led to a few losses this year...yes next man up..i know.. aforementioned wr moving back to rb would better fit them..they will need an explosive hard runner to get past regionals let alone carroll.
  11. They've ended enough tourney runs over the past decades to be on my "be careful for what you wish for" list
  12. I think teams (n their fan base) that don't play Indy or region teams on the regular may be a little shocked the first few times. Being the big dog on the block changes sometimes when u switch neighborhoods. Without their rb..imo Carroll will be the more formidable foe at the regional level. Even then..its a reason why "they are who we thought they were"
  13. An all MIC 6a final looms on the horizon lol @Temptation
  14. Programs that aren't used to playing outside their area tend to struggle in their formulative years..learning to win against opponents from the region or Indy areas can be tough lessons..
