  1. 5 yard TD pass on the opening drive and Bloomington South leads 20-7 with 7:12 left in the 3rd
  2. Whiteland 7, Jeffersonville 0 Half
  3. Franklin 13, New Albany 6 Half
  4. Halftime Scores Seymour 20, Greenwood 13 Martinsville 29, BNL 0
  5. Bloomington South leads 13-6 at the half
  6. 3 yard QB keeper and East is on the board. PAT hits the post and fails. 13-6 with 2:59 left in the half.
  7. South just nailed a 53 yard field goal. Wow! 13-0 with 9:38 left in the half
  8. After a 3 and out, South caps the short drive with a 27 yard TD pass. 10-0 with 29 seconds left in the first.
  9. After a turnover on downs in Bloomington South turnover, South marches down the field but gets stuffed on the goal line on 3rd down. They settle for a field goal and lead 3-0 with 2:05 left in the first.
  10. I was an IU fan until Bob Knight got fired. Hasn’t felt the same since then, even with him finally returning a few years ago. Great moment but I’ve moved on.
  11. Never listened to IU football on the radio. Can you blame me though? 😂
  12. I think I remember you talking about that last year. Is that the same Joe Smith that used to be on the halftime radio broadcasts of IU basketball games?
  13. Just checked the websites and it looks like 1010 WCSI will have the game. It’ll be weird hearing their broadcasts without Sam Simmermaker.
  14. He retired a couple months ago. Not sure who has the game but it’ll either be 1010 WCSI or MOJO 102.9. Both stations have livestreams on their websites.
  15. No. They only did during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The only games that get live-streamed now are Columbus East vs Columbus North games in all sports.
  16. If you add that for boys then you have to add it for girls too. That’s why I would think boys gymnastics would need to be offered. It used to be an IHSAA sport anyway.
  17. Oh no. I can imagine the teenage boys from other schools having a field day with that one.
  18. Yep. That was the big rivalry in Columbus prior to both schools splitting up.
  19. If girls flag football gets added then what boys sport are we adding? Gymnastics?
  20. Yep. Courtesy of Almanac Sports:
  21. 5A #8 Bloomington South at Columbus East: Even with only five starters back, the Panthers shouldn’t lack the talent to win easily. If the Olympians are as rough in the trenches as I’ve heard, it could get ugly. Bloomington South leads the series 4-1 and has won the last two games. Franklin at New Albany: I’m not sure what the Bulldogs have back this year but the Grizzly Cubs aren’t the pushovers they used to be. Franklin leads the series 1-0. Jeffersonville at 5A #4 Whiteland: This might be the ugliest game of the night. The Red Devils have a new coach and had a bad showing in their scrimmage with Madison. Their reward? A game on the road against a top 5 Warriors team. Good luck. The all-time series is tied 1-1 as Whiteland evened it up last year after their first match-up since 1972. Jennings County at South Dearborn: The Panthers have a new coach and a lot of young players. The Knights run a wishbone formation and it’ll be interesting to see how an inexperienced JC defends it. Not an easy task, especially for a season-opener. South Dearborn leads the series 5-3. 6A #3 Louisville St. Xavier at Floyd Central: The Highlanders have lost 14 straight against teams from Kentucky and 15 straight against teams from out of state. I expect that to continue against the Tigers. St. Xavier leads the series 1-0. 5A #9 Martinsville at BNL: The Stars have suffered nine straight losses in this series. You have to go back to 1992 to find their last win against the Artesians. With Martinsville on the upswing this year and BNL on the downswing, it’s looking like another blowout. Martinsville leads the series 22-3. Seymour at Greenwood: I really want to pick the Owls here but they suffered some big losses in the offseason. The Woodmen suffered some big losses too but it’s hard to take a Hoosier Hills Conference team over a Mid-State Conference team. Greenwood leads the series 3-1 and has won the last two games.
  22. I’ll be curious to see how Bloomington North looks with a brand new coach. I know he’s a longtime assistant but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be successful. Maybe he has enough talent and experience to overcome in coaching deficiencies though. If so, it seems the subsequent years will be the true test of his worth.
  23. I heard South Dearborn will be running the wishbone due to QB injuries. Can anyone confirm?
  24. 1. Floyd Central 2. Seymour 3. Columbus East 4. New Albany 5. Jennings County 6. BNL 7. Jeffersonville This is my prediction for the HHC this year. I feel pretty solid with the top two and not as solid elsewhere but we’ll see what happens.
