  3. Looking back at my picks, I meant to have Center Grove, not Warren Central. Sorry, I'm on my phone and can't figure out how to edit my original post.

  5. 4A Sorry for being tardy, quite the week. If I'm too late that's cool.

  7. No, they knew that the result would not be overturned. This was more to formally bring attention (as opposed to the informal attention brought here and on social media) to the processes outlined in the letter.
  8. This is 100% the case. The fact that Covington played even 8 man games at the Jr. High level this year will go a long way to ensuring that kids develop properly.
  9. No, it was torrential and presented a safety hazard, which is why our game was called at the beginning of the 4th. No doubt that had it been a one score game, it would have gotten postponed to Saturday, at the very least delayed due to weather conditions. Weather is undoubtedly a part of the game, but there comes a point where common sense has to prevail.
  10. And the SV-RP game was also the geographically most southern game last Friday night, which does matter because conditions definitely worsened the further south you went. Just saying...
  11. I initially thought the same about the placement of the scoreboard, but actually, you have to REALLY get ahold of one to hit it. Three of us coaches tried the other day from an extra point distance and it's incredibly difficult.
  12. They were in the Western Indiana Conference, which looks worse on paper, but they also have utilized division play for several years, which mitigates that issue a bit. Conference travel distances are an issue for more than just football. It is easy to get siloed in this regard, but unless South Vermillion was to go independent for football only, as Linton has done, considerations must be made for sports who have travel through the week, not just on Friday nights. There are, of course, ways to minimize that impact (scheduling of baseball and softball doubleheaders for example) but still, schools would prefer not to have kids out super late on Tuesdays and Thursdays any more than they have to.
  13. No disagreement, I just don't think the travel distances are a super easy sell. Maybe they aren't that bad, I haven't sat down and done the math, but at first glance they would be very out of place there. Either way, Coach Barrett and his staff have done a great job over the past few years!
  14. Not sure I like the geographic fit, but that would probably make the most sense if they ever tried anything different.
  15. The point is to prevent malicious rumors that could destroy careers from spreading. Bud is in a category all his own with a career that speaks for itself, but precedent is precedent. If you want gossip, I'm sure Sheridan has a barber shop or two you could frequent.
  16. So a "grassroots movement" over... semantics? I mean, you do you, but I don't really see what this accomplishes.
  17. As a Crawfordsville alum, this is really exciting! Paying homage to the Monon Line and able to capitalize on the idea of MACtion (as the poster above highlights) is brilliant!
  18. Serious question: why is this topic still open?
  19. This has been discussed a lot in our area and makes a ton of sense given the way roster sizes have gone in recent years. I struggle to see anyone above 1A doing this, but I suppose they could if they had to. 11 man JV would definitely be preferable, but 8 man JV is better than no JV; you are still giving those athletes a chance to develop against competition that is similar to themselves rather than throwing them "into the fire" as a sophomore with no intermediate experience between Jr. high and Varsity ball.
  20. There would be a bit of irony here in that Allen coached under Creighton for one season years ago when Creighton was at Wabash. I believe Allen was the DBs Coach/ST Coordinator during the 2007 season. Both great guys; I hate that it hasn't worked out for Tom, but would love to see CC get an opportunity at a P5 school.
  21. I would struggle to see SV wanting to go back to that well. My understanding "through the grapevine" so to speak was that they regretted leaving the WRC in the first place and it was a bit of a struggle to get back in (the Parke Heritage consolidation helped that along immensely). Maybe they would want to go back at this point, but it would suprise me.
  22. WCGrad92, you likely know the WIC far better than I do, what are they likely to do should NP, and later SP and Greencastle, make that move? I'm not sure how many teams are in the WIC, so are they likely to look to add someone? Stay pat?
