TigerFan20 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 JH Opening Lines: Mater Dei (-7) at Jasper Lincoln at Castle (-10) North (-25) at Bosse Memorial (-25) at Harrison Central at Reitz (-28) Quote
tango Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 MD at Jasper should be a good game. I expect MD to give the JCats problems similar to what did in Wk.1. I'm also intrigued by Lincoln at Castle. Will be interesting to see of Lincoln can stick around into the second half. The other 3 games should be running clocks. On the WREF show this morning Ryan Waller mentioned Harrison was without their QB last night. Quote

Not sure North, Memorial or Reitz can cover their big numbers though. I would not be surprised if we hold a player or two out and I heard some chatter about Reitz getting hit with some injuries, but not sure the extent. North should be able to finally get some points on the board. If I had to bet, I say they have the best chance of covering of the 3 big favorites. 1 Quote

Football Fanatic Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Most likely not many, if any, close games this week. Could an upset be brewing though? Probably not. Here are my predictions: Lincoln at Castle - I think the Alices can hang around for a half but the Knights pull away in the 2nd half. I will take the Knights by four scores. North at Bosse - Perfect week for the Huskies to get back on track. The Huskies have faced a tough schedule but have shown they have the defense to compete. I will take the Huskies by four scores. Memorial at Harrison - I think the Warriors are much improved this year. If their starting QB is back for this one, they could make it a game for a half. I think the Tigers pull away and win by four scores. Central at Reitz - The big question for now is the health of the Reitz QBs after they both exited the game against North. But even if they have to go with a third string QB, they shouldn't have too much trouble winning this with their running game and defense taking control. I will take the Panthers in a running clock. GAME OF THE WEEK: Mater Dei at Jasper - This year's installment of the Wildcat War should be a good one. Jasper got back in the win column and will be happy to be back on their home turf. Will they defend it though? Probably not. I will take the Mater Dei version of the Wildcats by two scores. Quote
TigerFan20 Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 Can North finally break over 20 points this week? Thought they would against Harrison, but they didn’t happened since North beat them 13-3. Quote

I realize they have the toughest early schedule in the SIAC playing Castle, Memorial and Reitz in the first 4 weeks, but they are huge up front and they have a nice RBs. They should be able to run it down teams' throats. Quote
TigerFan20 Posted September 20, 2024 Author Posted September 20, 2024 Picks Lincoln at Castle Lincoln is coming off a 40-7 win over Central and Castle might have found their offense so far in the season. Could be an interesting game, but I think Castle will pull this away in the 2H. Give me the Knights by 3 scores. North at Bosse North has still not break the 20 point mark so far this season, with their most point total at 14 points against Memorial. And while I thought they were score a lot in their Harrison game, the Huskies put up 13 points. Bosse has been giving up roughly 38 PPG. I’ll take the Huskies by 4 scores in this one. Memorial at Harrison The Tigers are coming off a massive win against Mater Dei last week to continue their winning streak in the conference. And having one of the most dynamic offenses in the conference. Harrison had a pair of game games that did not go their way, and their offense has stalled. I’ll take the Tigers in a running clock. Central at Reitz Reitz is coming off a nice victory over the Huskies, however, got hit with some injuries during the game. But the Panthers offense has gotten it going being a slight leader in OYPG. Central, while improved, has faced 3 losses by 28+ points. I think Reitz will just run the ball the for the entire game, give me the Panthers in a running clock. Game of the Week Mater Dei is coming off a tough loss against Memorial, as the Tigers controlled the game and scored on 6 possessions. Although, Mater Dei did have some bright flashes too, scoring on 3 of their first 5 possessions (2 FGs + a TD). Jasper has found some type of rhythm these past 2 weeks also, blowing out Bosse last week and keeping it close with Reitz. Defending the pass will be key for Jasper, as they have struggled so far. I’ll take the MD Cats by 10. Quote

I agree with you, the Bears will see a heavy dose of Ussery, McClarney, and company. Creates potential for an unexpectedly close game. However, I don't think the Bears can stop the Panthers rushing attack. And will Central score more than once or twice? Probably not. Bigger question on people's minds might be whether or not Reitz will get their guys back by the time Castle marches into the Bowl for a huge showdown next week. Quote
