Tigers put a running clock on Panthers.  Ouch!  I thought MHS would win by a couple of TDs but not 40 pts.  Has that EVER happened to RHS Boys before?

You were right.  I don't know if underestimated Jasper or overestimated Castle.   Reitz was one tough bobbling catch away from being shutout and could not prevent the running clock.

Reitz moved the ball OK in the first half.  Just couldn’t sustain their drives.  They did have the one score - on a great throw and catch.  Other than that, their offense was pretty ineffective.  Didn’t even get very far into Memorial territory. 

Fisher and Ellspermann were about as clicking as a QB/WR duo can get.  Fish threw for 5 TDs and ran for 2 more.  Ellspermann ran for one and caught 3 of those TD passes.

Jasper/Castle game was quite interesting, going to watch the WJTS replay for that game.

Fisher may have had 4 passing TDs, not 5.  I know he ran for 2 and Ellspermann ran for 1.  They scored 8 altogether.

Did the Tigers have one other rushing TD?

A bit of a lucky guess but the Panthers seem to be a bit down right now.  Injuries and emotions are a bit out of control.  Watched the reply of last night's game and it was close until just before half when Tigers went on a 3 TD blitz.  The Catch (or not) - really set off the Panther sidelines and fans and that was pretty much the end of the game.  Panther could not regroup and Tigers kept their foot on the gas until the running clock.  As has become routine under Hurley, the Tigers seem to be playing their best right as the playoffs approach.

Heard that Sam Tenbarge, Memorial’s longtime PA announcer (known for his “Wooooo!” and his terrible jokes about driving home safely) passed away early this morning.

I believe he was able to get in one final “Woooo!” on the mic last night at the game.

Very sad. Sam was true blue. Another larger than life member of the Memorial family lost. Prayers for Lori and the family.

Sam was the greatest during the games and at the tailgates. One of the best to talk too and overall a great person to be around with. He will be truly missed.

One of the other quirks about Sam’s announcing that made me giggle was when he would report other scores.

There was always a good chance that he would report at least one score from a game between two obscure schools nobody in the stands had ever heard of (much less cared about) - and there was also a good chance he’d report a score from his beloved Cincinnati Reds (but only if they were winning).

Sam took great pride in making our football games an experience that fans took part in, not just watched. And he loved our kids and fans. I really enjoyed the time we spent together in the box.
