I don’t use sagarin and never brought up sagarin. I have watched New Pal play this year. I watched them in previous years when that tiny school played well above their class and beat 6A Center Grove and even the year they went toe to toe with Snider in 5A.
They are a top notch 4A program with coaching and a weight program that rivals most 6A schools. They are a good football team better than Chatard will remain to be seen in the playoffs.

Have New Pal play a Ben Davis schedule and I can guarantee you they wouldn’t be 8-0, probably somewhere around 4-4. I root for the underdog and I am one of the few posters that don’t have that Indy bias in everything I say, but be real now. Ben Davis who is 3-5 right now would be an easy double digit favorite against New Pal and they aren’t even in the top 25 of Temps rankings.

Do you feel FW Snider, Carroll, or Mishawaka would fair better than Ben Davis with Ben Davis’ schedule?

I see what you are saying but I’d take New Pal +10 against BD…

To be fair, even though it was game 1, Snider played Warren better than Warsaw, LC, Carmel, and North Central did.

I think Snider is likely 4-4 with BD’s current schedule.

Carroll crushed Snider and has been pretty solid outside of their blowout loss to HSE.  They played CG BETTER than BD did IN GREENWOOD.  Give the Chargers BD’s schedule and they are somewhere around 4-4/5-3.

As for Mishawaka, I think the gap is fairly significant to them.  They don’t win more than 2-3 games against BD’s schedule in my opinion.

And I’d like to stay that these numbers may be inflated a bit due to the fact that I’m viewing these matchups in a vacuum as opposed to cumulatively as we know the wear and tear of a MIC/HCC schedule takes its toll.

I see what everyone is saying, but I always go back to the same line which is I have to reward teams that win.  I’m not just going to shuffle around the same 6A teams that are hovering around .500.  That’s not how it works.

I think Temp hit the nail on its head with his analysis. Snider would likely be 4-4 against this schedule. Having said that, this is likely the worst Snider team in the last 5-10 years. Carroll probably would be 5-3 with an outside shot at 6-2. Mishawaka probably 2-6

This wasn’t me doubting any of the others. I would have Snider the same 4-4  at best and Carroll 4-4/5-3, Mishawaka worse. I asked the question to see where the thoughts were. You’re not going to have a Top 25 list with nothing but 6A. Both Chatard and New Palestine have done well against 6A teams in the past and they both have good football teams this year. You have to reward winning as Temp said. It has nothing to do with an Indy bias.

One poster keeps calling New Pal a tiny school even though their enrollment is 38 students more than Cathedral. Is New Pal up to their 2018-2019 team no, but they are good and they have to play the schedule they have.

i will be honest I feel Crown Point would not be undefeated with Lawrence North, Cathedral, Brownsburg, Center Grove, or Westfields schedule. When you look at Calpreps most of the top 10 teams hover at 23 to 41 (higher the number better the schedule) Cathedral is at 39.9 and CG at 41.1. Crown Point came in at 11.4 that is lower than Chatard. They would win some for sure but wouldn’t be undefeated. Same with New Palestine with a 5.

Crown Point and New Pal would be right around 4-4 to 5-3 with that schedule

Let's not put Crown Point and New Pal on equal footing. Their record would be better than New Pal's.

Improved your post for you. So now you're comparing a public school's enrollment to that of a private school? Interesting to say the least. And New Pal is tiny compared to 6A schools.

I'm not just not seeing it. I'll concede when New Pal wins the state championship by 35+.

I'm not talking about when if and when they beat Chatard by 7pts, which I don't think will happen anyway. But when they beat the north champion by 35, I'll concede and put them in my Top 10.......sincerely. Wait, I'm throwing insults at Mishawaka and Concord, didn't mean to do that. Let's drop it to 21. Top 10 is a beast Temp, much more so than 11 through 20.

They gotta win by 35 to prove my point?

Damn.

Groundhog Day around here every year.  "New Pal doesn't play anybody!" is said every time Mt. Vernon isn't any good.  So they continue to schedule above their class in non-conference...usually roll through the HHC (similarly to how Columbus East used to) and end up playing in Regional, Semi-State or State.   Of course a 4A team wouldn't fair well playing a 6A schedule, they have 50 less kids.  But the Dragons have multiple kids with D1 offers and could beat anybody in the state on a given Friday.  Yes, they belong in the top 10.

Meh, lots of teams have multiple kids with D1 offers, doesn't necessarily make them a Top 10 team. No offense to New Pal, but I've got them bowing out to Chatard. They won't even reach Lucas.

Not so sure it’ll be Chatard they face. Sectional 22 is loaded. I’ve got New Pal regardless:

New Pal 21, Chatard 14

New Pal 28, Roncalli 17

New Pal 52, Brebeuf 49

New Pal 35, Danville 14

I tend to agree with New Pal in the top 10, but I admittedly do have an Indy bias.

LOL, that's not the only thing.  They are also undefeated and have a track record of doing well in the playoffs despite a "weak schedule"
