adambetz Posted November 14, 2024 Author Posted November 14, 2024 Saw some talk in the 6A thread about getting a 5A thread going, especially with regards to the Jeff vs Warsaw game. Personally I'm leaning towards the Tigers. Tougher schedule imo, with much better conference competition. I think Warsaw is gonna come out and give Jeff the ole "Noblesville." Can't score if your offense isn't on the field. 2 Quote

His love for this state and the student athletes of this state needs to be commemorated in some sort of way by the IHSAA. They should name the HoF tournament after him or something. I would have burnt out 20 years ago. 1 Quote
BDGiant93 Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame inducted him as a Silver Medal winner. https://hoopshall.com/inductees/john-harrell/#:~:text=created and launched JohnHarrell.net,also honored by IHSAA and Probably helps give him a little comfort while he's waiting for the Indy Riverside vs. Lighthouse Christian score on a Friday Night at 2:00 am. I want something more. Gotta change Basketball Day in Indiana to John Harrell Day or something. Quote

NLCTigerFan07 Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Obviously the games have to be played tonight, but it would be great to see Merrillville and Warsaw win tonight for the below story line in their potential Semi-State matchup. First, Warsaw has never won a Regional title. Last week was only their 2nd Sectional title in school history. Seeing them get their first Regional title tonight would be awesome. Second, Coach Brad Seiss is in his 10th year at Merrillville, with 7 Sectional titles and 4 Regional titles under his belt. However, the Pirates have yet to get over the Semi-State hump (0-4) and make it to Indianapolis on Thanksgiving weekend. How fitting would it be for Coach Brad Seiss to once again be 1 win away from a State Championship appearance, only to have to travel to his hometown of Warsaw and coach against his alma mater? I can only imagine the atmosphere at that game. But the Pirates and Tigers will have to take care of business first tonight. 2 Quote

Arguably the best Warsaw Tiger football player in school history. The Sectional semi-final in 2001 between the 9-1 Snider Panthers and 10-0 Warsaw Tigers was one of the best high school football games ever played. As a Warsaw fan, obviously disappointed in that 23-20 overtime loss, but it truly was an awesome game. 1 Quote
Trojan67 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I'm just here to read the comments about the botched call in the Warsaw vs Lafayette Jeff game with 3.9 left in the first half. Quote
NLCTigerFan07 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Yes - that was a botched, inadvertant whistle by the referees 100% - however - while it appears Jeff could have "scored" - the player was wide open because that whistle was blown and the Tiger defense had completely stopped on the play. Seriously - both offenses dominated. Difference in the game was turnovers by the Bronchos. Warsaw - 62 plays - 459 total yards - 419 yards rushhing and 40 yards passing Jeff - 71 plays - 411 total yards - 368 yards passing and 43 yards rushing Quote

Very much so inadvertent whistle. It was a hell of a game, though. Jeff shouldn't be holding their heads down at all. Warsaw seems to be playing at a different level and seems like they are peaking at the right time. Quote
