You're so off base right now, very unusual for you to be this wrong. Nothing impressive about Snider's game against Warsaw, the Tigers defense isn't any good. I love them, but I think they're overrated. You weren't even at the Carroll/CG game. You're not allowed to comment any further about it. Fifteen posts is the limit for a game that you didn't attend.

I have been at the front of standing up for any team outside of Indy for years and years. There is some damn good football that is played outside of Indy in all classes. I have specifically touted Fort Wayne area teams and have beat the drum for them with anyone arguing against them. I have had many, many debates/discussions with knowledgeable people on this board. I would argue, and the facts would back it up, that outside of 6A teams, there is not a conference in this state that has produced multiple different classes of state title teams than the SAC. On certain occasions,Snider in particular, has had teams that that have competed on a level with an Indy team in 6A.

This the first time in a long time that that the SAC doesn’t have a true state title contender in any class. Usually, we have Luers that, regardless of their regular season record, can compete for a state title. Don’t see it happening this year for them. Carroll, Snider, and Homestead are not contending for a state title in 6A this year. Forget about Northrop as well, shouldn’t even be mentioning in this anyways. North Side is not a threat in 5A either. Dwenger will be fortunate to possibly win a sectional title, but they are not a threat for a state title.

I wish I was wrong 23andCounting as some of the best football in the state is played in Northeast Indiana, year in and year out, but not this year. I sincerely hope I am wrong and will gladly eat crow if I am. As most around here would say, I keep it real and as truthful as I can. If I think that Snider is bad, I will say it. If I think that Snider is the best team in the state regardless of class, I will say it. Go back and read the archives.

Good stuff @Komets2727. Love the banter. I don't mind eating crow if I'm wrong. We just differ on how good Carroll is right now. If Carroll is as good as I think they are, then they'll beat Snider by at least 17 points. If it's a single digit game, I'll be the first to come on here and admit that I was wrong. Regardless of how decimated Snider was when they played Warsaw and East Noble due to some pre-season incidents, I do agree with you that this team is in the bottom 20 percentile of panther teams of the past. Hope I'm wrong, it's just hard to replace some of the talent they had over the last three years.

I just went back and looked at the last 5 years of Carroll football and this is easily the worst team they have had. All of the Sullivan led teams were really good, offensively and defensively. Speed was abundant and they were 4-1 vs. Snider as well and Snider had some really good teams including a state title team. Memory sometimes slips, but the Becker led teams were pretty damn good as well. It has been the Snider/Carroll dominated conference for years and it will most likely continue for years to come. I will say I expected a lot more from Snider this year, but the issue with 19 players and the subsequent possible lawsuit has left the team not at full strength. You then have players who were expected to be major contributors has led to the current results.

It bothers you that Carroll delivered some punishing hits in that game? Why? All I said was that Carroll was competitive. Good grief, we up north got slammed when we lose by 40, then slammed again when we lose by 11. Lol.

I don't know what channel you're watching your high school games on, maybe ESPN for all I know. But watching a game on summitcitysports.com doesn't come anywhere close to watching it in person. Not sure why I'm triggering everyone by congratulating Carroll for playing hard.

Look, Center Grove has what, at least 6 players going D1? I was fully prepared to leave that game after the first quarter and hit the Dwenger/De Sales game down the street. I came away proud of how well Carroll played despite the loss. Moral victory? Why not with all the pre-season hype Center Grove was getting. Do I "need" a moral victory? No. We all know Indy owns 6A. Anyone with a morsal of a brain knows that Indy dominance is primarily based on enrollment. You'll never see Kevin Wright take over at Homestead..................5000 vs 2500 is a no brainer.

No...it doesn't bother me that Carroll had some good hits during the game.  I would expect this...as I would when CG plays Warren, Carmel, BD, Brownsburg, etc.  You didn't say Carroll was competitive...you stated....

Your statement wasn't accurate.  I don't care if you were in the stands or watching at home.  Carroll hung in there for almost 3 quarters and CG opened it up.  CG never trailed in this game.  Carroll got a late score when the game was decided to make it look closer than the 11 point spread.  You keep referencing the physicality of Carroll, while not acknowleding their D, also gave up 500+ yds of offense.  300+ of those yds were rushing.  That doesn't sound like an incredible D.  Congrats on some "hard tackling"....my guess if you go back and look at the stats, the Carroll safeties racked up most of those tackles.

No one is "triggered"...just pointing out some embellishment.

Would Wright ever take a job at a school of 2500?  Not sure.  Coach Moore took one at a school <2500.  He's done pretty dang good.  CG and Westfield are #16 and #18 respectively....both less than 2900.....they are 2 of the elite state programs.  Carroll and Homestead pretty close to them.

Actually looks really good. I'd probably move Warsaw down to the 25 spot. I'd like to see Carroll in there somewhere, just not sure who to eliminate.

You notice anything else?

Does a team get extra points on the scoreboard for "hitting hard?"

only if someone attempts to drop them from the schedule due to it.

C'mon....sometimes watching a game on TV gives one much better perspective than sitting in the stands...especially if replay is available.  To say the only way one can comment is to be there is kind of silly.  I am going to the IU vs Illinois game Saturday night....can't imagine telling someone watching on TV that they are not in a position to comment on the game.

all commenting on games should be illegal without an endzone view and a bac high enough to prevent you from driving yourself home.

Late touchdowns only count for Indy schools? The game was 21-17 deep in the third with CG struggling to get out of their own territory. So yeah, "all they can handle." It's all good, I'm okay with you pretending that Center Grove woke up when it counted most. They were the better team the whole game with Carroll always playing catchup. Still proud of Carrol and the way they played. You do you.

Speaking of pretending, let's not pretend that CG is less than 2500 students. Maybe the case when Moore took over two and a half decades ago. State the facts. Barely shy of 2900. As @Komets2727 would say............carry on.

Look closer.

I see that it's Tim Phillips' poll.

So that rules out TV. Agree.

Do a side by side of this poll and the one on page 1 of this thread.

I couldn’t look past the list in the picture having Dwenger in 5A. It’s been a few since Dwenger was in 5A

Spoiler alert:  It’s the exact same poll.
