Some things to consider. I have been bothered by the ACC's approach leading up to the selection, and have felt that ESPN itself was participating in that. This breakdown furthers my claim. I am not posting this as a defense of Notre Dame not getting selected, just a general issue with what ESPN has become.

It’s a huge problem. You have announcers propagating agendas during pregame, game time, and post game shows, along with the talking heads at ESPN discussing all week long. Very definite slant towards SEC and ACC

And this is a great follow up point regarding the notion that just expanding the playoff solving the current issues.

The only thing I can say is that everyone knows the ACC is dead in five years when Clemson, if Dabo can figure it out, and Florida State, if they can make a good hire, can buy their way out of the league. I’m not sure ESPN is worried about spreading 4 million bucks around a 17 team league that isn’t going to be here in five years.

I think expansion is inevitable, but 12 is the right number with no auto qualifiers.

Agreed. But keep in mind, that money is just for getting in the playoff. Each time one of those teams advances, it's an additional $4 Million, I believe.

I agree.....but with qualifiers, it will be 16. It's kind of funny seeing people go crazy about the ND agreement for next year. It's based on a 12 team format. I have no doubt it will be 16.

Yes, it’s just like the units that the NCAA pays out for March Madness. ESPN is plenty culpable for its role in the process appearing to be a mess, but I think the SEC holds more sway over the process than ESPN does.

Not sure Dabo will be at Clemson in 5 years.

You lost me….Rivals now not a credible source.

Huh?  Just stating that perhaps they need a celebration 101 course in Bloomington is all.

Not sure what that has to do with Michigan losing a committed 4 star recruit, most likely related to what’s recently occurred.

Young man’s dreams crushed and a team takes a blow as a result of simply greeting and celebrating with fans in stands following a program’s historic victory. Great classy humor…..🙄

Hello McFly, anyone home? First Big 10 Championship since 1967, first outright since WWII. And they shouldn't celebrate?

Good stuff:

Of course we shouldn’t penalize Alabama for getting blown out in its CCG—the ESPN owned SEC makes ESPN more money! Of course we should penalize BYU for getting blown out in its CCG. The Big 12 won’t make ESPN more money! Of course the Big 12 is only a 1 bid league! And even better—penalizing BYU means we can make an excuse to swap Notre Dame (for which ESPN doesn’t own the rights) for Miami (for which ESPN DOES own the rights). Result: ESPN can better line its own pockets and invest in its own product.

And posters think I'm on an island all by myself:

ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips called for CFP expansion after Notre Dame was left out: "If you’re leaving teams out of the Playoff that could win a national championship, then you don’t have the right number."

This season screams * . I don't think IU is going to win the title, so I can proudly say I'm going to run this into the ground for the next twelve months.

Side note: This isn't near as much about Miami as it is about Alabama. Notre Dame would crush that program by 14+. And they were already 5.5 point favorites going away against Oklahoma. Only irrational people think Irish fans shouldn't be pissed.

This is the other half of what’s going on at Michigan these days. Her name is Paige Shiver, and people are asking why hasn’t she been fired as well as Moore? Apparently, she got a salary bump from $55,000 to $90,000 from Coach Moore. But here’s the thing. The reason employers put these rules in place is because of the power dynamic involved. This isn’t two people on the same level. It’s an employee and her boss. If you fire the employee, you’ve set yourself up for litigation. The claim of the person in the inferior position is that his or her employer coerced sex by threatening negative consequences on the job if refused. So, you end up tiptoeing very carefully around this employee rather than firing him or her like you did their boss. It’s a very delicate situation for an employer.

This sort of thing happens in the workplace from time to time. But the interesting (and disappointing) part of it for me is the timing, as pointed out by @temptation. Apparently, this was not a very well kept secret in the building. But they waited until after NLI signing day to drop the bomb, figuring disclosure before that might start a run of decommitments. That’s not a good look. I root against Michigan football, but I have great respect for the institution that is U of M. Just not as much as I had before.

No relationship to the Tweet you shared about Moose.

Just throwing shade back at you...isn't that what we are doing here?

I didn't set the rules for this game...you did with your supposed chess moves to "get my goat."

Nah.  Never said that.  Maybe they just need a team meeting about acceptable forms of celebration?

There were rumors about the relationship for months but both parties vehemently denied them...until Wednesday morning when the young lady (for reasons unknown but which have been widely (and irresponsibly in my opinion) speculated on) came forward and disclosed "new" info to administration.

Moore was fired hours later.

Yeah, unfortuately even though these indivuals make millions of dollars and are often put on a pedestal, they are not immune from the same poor decision-making as everyday folks.

One of the main reasons Moore got the job is that the kids loved him.  Outside of Sherrone's family, I can only imagine how they too feel betrayed by this entire situation.

How hot is Warde Manuel’s seat? It looks like there has been a lot of stuff going on in his department over the last few years that he was clueless about.

I think the young lady's moral compass should be investigated. She wasn't forced to have sex. She could have said something. She could have left. I understand that I know little of the situation, but something drove Moore to his insanity. And it probably had nothing to do with this young lady being 100% truthful. Again, no job is worth compromising your values. Again, this is from the outside looking in. I hope both individuals find peace.

I believe he's gone once the next football coach is hired, but have no inside info or knowledge of that.

He did bring UM Dusty May who is being lauded as Michigan's Curt Cignetti by some.

That seems sort of bass ackward, don’t you think? If you’re getting a new AD anyway, hire him and then have him hire the coach.

i can’t see Michigan going for very long with a HFC named “Biff.”

Sorry…don’t see humor of making light of serious injuries. The young man did nothing wrong and nothing different that countless players do after every game greeting fans in the stands from the playing area. Dreams were crushed for a senior that had more than paid his dues. Big blow for Indiana’s defense.
