How many running clocks has GS had this season?

I was talking about massive substitution in the 4th quarters...but since you asked, 2 running clocks...a hair away from 3..  We have let our JV/freshman give up some garbage touchdowns that have hurt us with computer type rankings.  Are we really going to argue on who has the most scewed statistics...LMAO?  Relax your puggy little figers...HH is the big favorite in this one and it is deserved!  Also every bleach blonde (the expensive salon kind) blue wearing tuition paying moma is hoping you guys can prove we aren't the real deal!  So you have that going for ya too!  😜

Who’s arguing?  lol.  Big favorite? You mean by all of the fancy predictors that YOU are posting?  According to those, HH isn’t a heavy favorite.  You lost me on the moma part.  Lol.

I've always said it' a good thing that royal blue and salon blonde go so good together.  You guys have hardy German women with child bearing hips like us....thank god for the dentist in town....hmmmm.....or not. 🤣

So we are clear, I wasn't really referring to the lack of dental hygiene in Gibson Co, it would be foolish for anyone in my location to cast those stones.  I was having more of an introspective look.  Big German women...see there, we can find common ground.  It is almost like we are simpatico.  We should gather for tailgate Friday night and sing Kumbaya, and then go watch our communities murder each other.

Heritage Hills (5-0) @ Gibson Southern (4-1)

Gibson Southern High School

Friday, September 26, 2025

7:00 pm CDT Kickoff

This is the 54th meeting between Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern.

Heritage Hills leads the overall series 36-17.

Heading into week 6, Heritage Hills is ranked 1st in all three polls in 4A and Gibson Southern is ranked 2nd in the IFCA and 4th in the USA & AP polls in 3A.

Our Patriots are averaging 56.0 ppg on offense, while holding opponents to 6.0 ppg. The Titans are averaging 35.8 ppg, while allowing 19.2 ppg.

The Patriots also faced three teams that consolidated into Gibson Southern High School in the 1972 and 1973 seasons. Heritage Hills went 0-2 vs Fort Branch, 1-1 vs Haubstadt and 2-0 vs Owensville. In the first season of Patriot Football, the Patriots went 9-1 and their only loss was to Fort Branch (15-12).

The Titans won the first three meetings in the series by beating Roger Snow’s Patriots in 1974, 1975 and 1976. The Patriots didn’t beat the Titans for the first time until 1977, which was the year Bob Ashworth became the Patriots Head Coach. The 1977 season was Bob Clayton's only season as Offensive Coordinator at Heritage Hills before he stepped into the Head Coach role. The following season Ashworth moved onto Evansville Reitz and Clayton took over the Heritage Hills program.

The Titans have won 13 of the last 22 meetings starting with a win in 2010 that snapped the Patriots streak of 21 straight wins over the Titans. Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern have played 5 overtime games in the series including a 7-0 five overtime affair in 1982.

Sounds like a reference to them pesky Memorial Tigers would be my guess, cause only one team gets out of Sectional 32 alive, and that team usually makes it to LOS!

@Titan32  Let's get to the things that really hold weight.  Sandy's.  Will I be able to get in and out of Sandy's in a reasonable time on Friday?  We went there before we played Princeton, but you guys were at MV that night so it was pretty empty.

So, am I getting in, out, and to a decent seat before kickoff, or will it be packed with Titans?  Will I get thrown out on my neck for even walking in there? 🤣

You should be fine on time.  I will make sure that no harm comes to you.  Just say my real name at the counter....and that you want my special.

Slow day on here so figured I would make my first post. The conversation around how many quarters our guys have played is hogwash. As a former player in the HH program we have our guys conditioned and ready to roll week 1. The lack of quarters does nothing but help this team in the 2025 season. 7 to 8 starters on each side of the ball have state championship snaps just call it like it is! Preparation and lack of playing time for the starters is not even close to being a problem. This team is fresh and ready for GS

I think your close on that score is on the money.

As far as quarters being hogwash though.....

Yeah, I told my son to encourage the lineman tonight--the big guys are going to need some encouragement....they haven't had to play 4 quarters for the last 5 weeks.

Did you guys see this new IHSAA rule for this season?  For the IHSAA to have to make a rule this must have been much more common than I thought.

IHSAA Rule 9-12 (2025–26): IV Fluids & Supplemental Oxygen

Overview:
The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) has established clear guidelines regarding the
use of intravenous (IV) fluids and supplemental oxygen during athletic contests. Rule 9-12 Key Points:
Use of IV fluids or supplemental oxygen during a contest is restricted. They may be administered
only in genuine medical emergencies. Any such use must be under the supervision of qualified
medical personnel (e.g., physician, EMT, certified athletic trainer). These treatments are not
permitted for routine recovery, performance enhancement, or expedited return to play. Athletes
requiring IV fluids or oxygen are to be considered medically compromised and must be removed from
active competition.

Purpose:
This rule ensures player safety, maintains fair competition, and prevents inappropriate sideline medical
practices. Implications for Coaches & Players: No sideline IV hydration for cramps, dehydration, or
fatigue. No oxygen use for "boosting" performance. If an athlete requires IV or oxygen, they should be
treated as an emergency case and removed from play. Reminder:
Always follow athletic trainer and team physician guidance. Emergency protocols take precedence over
game participation.

Does this apply if it is to aid a fan who is winded from walking up too many steps in the bleachers or those who got bombed at the pregame tailgate, thrown out for yelling at the refs and need to sober up before driving their tractors home?
