SAC_Coach Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Did anyone go to or watch this game? Curious people’s final thoughts. I only know what little bits I have been able to read. Quote

St. Joe moved the ball pretty well in the first half despite coming away with only seven points. It was all downhill after Dwenger returned a field goal for a touchdown to go up 10-7, otherwise could have been a 10-3 lead for South Bend. That's all I've got. Appears Dwenger dominated the second half. Quote

That was the turning point. 2 interceptions deep in BD territory and getting no points did not help that and the safety were 9 of the points scored BD was a lot quicker, stronger, and deeper than SJ Their defense was quick. It looked like all linebackers and defensive backs. no real line man The lack of offense caught up with SJ when the defense could not hold the other team Still a heck of a season Nice stadium at Dwenger too and parked at the middle school and got right out back to 69 to head for home BD students had a nice showing as well 1 Quote

As someone who has coached against them and watch them play several times, they definitely do Defense differently. And the funny thing is you’d believe you can then just run right at them and run them over but that doesn’t work either. Quote
ASJCPUMA Posted November 23, 2025 Author Posted November 23, 2025 As a fan I had not seen BD this year. Only what was said on here and other social media pages. It appears our coaching staff was aware since they put the QB under center, did not run many jet sweeps, things that had worked. When you have not seen a team due to other areas you never know. Their quickness is what struck me. How fast they ran into the line and got through and their pursuit. It is a very interesting concept and can see where teams would have trouble with it Quote
