WWFan Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Looks like 2026 has started as we have our first coaching hire. Silver Creek has been filled. Quote
JQWL Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I've never interviewed for a job 884 miles away. Do you fly in for that or Zoom? I think if I'd want to see then school/community in person but I don't know how feasible that is. Quote

It said he was at Hanover, so my guess is he likely is familiar with the program and may have recruited the area. So maybe he has at least been there before. 2 Quote
Coach_K Posted February 3 Posted February 3 We still have quite a openings in the MSC and PLAC. Paoli- I think most of us, in the area, know who they are going to hire. Madison- I heard they were just starting interviews this week. Salem- Have they started interviews yet? Mitchell- I haven't heard anything from them yet. Anyone have any other incites? Quote
JQWL Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Mitchell's job is officially still open until this coming Friday but they have completed some interviews already. Quote
Salem33 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Salem has completed interviews, expect a hire at the next board meeting which I believe is 2/9 Quote

They have informed the candidates whether they were selected as the hire. Quote

Salem33 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Salem schools just posted their upcoming school board agenda. Roger Pennington is on the agenda to be approved as the Head Football Coach. I thought he did well being thrown into the fire last summer. Very good hometown hire! 2 Quote

Good luck to him. MSC is a grind. Did great on short work. Curious if he changes offense at all. 1 Quote

I think it will be a tough job, but Coach Pap is up to the task. You never know who or what transfers will happen in today's day and age. Quote

Couple years removed from a conference title in FB, they’ve had to cut staff (mostly non-certified), several hundred drop in enrollment over last year, I’d guess there are tougher situations. Quote

Impartial_Observer Posted February 12 Posted February 12 1 hour ago, jets said: Factors for this?? Is this something a new coach could improve upon?? Seymour has a large group of Hispanic immigrants. That’s what pushes them into 5A, and no I don’t see a coaching change, changing that. However political factors, both local and nationally have started changing that. At its peak, Seymour was 35%-40% Hispanics. That has been dropping the last two years. Historically Seymour has had success, the administration seems intent on a successful football program, I know the community is hungry for a successful football program, I see no reason why a coach couldn’t be successful at Seymour. Post Jeff Richey, Seymour had a couple of stepping stone coaches, not sure what happened with Moore, and it kind of becomes a stigma, but all of those coaches enjoyed some success or were about to before bailed for greener pastures. I get it, oh look Seymour’s open again. With all that being said, I’ll also state I am a firm believer that the goal of a HS FB isn’t necessarily wins v losses, a much better measure is what kind of young men is your program producing. Thats the important part for me, and of course as Lou Holtz said he was told when he showed up to South Bend, we just want to be competitive. I think Coach Papenhaus fits the bill at Seymour. 1 Quote

Salem33 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Any updates for Madison, Mitchell, or Paoli? Are interviews happening yet? Quote
RetiredSouthernCoach Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Madison hired Patric Morrison, who coached at Madison for numerous years in the past. Believe he was head coach until around 2017, now returning 1 Quote
