EasyEJay Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Guess who’s back !?!?! Lol and of course here for 1 agenda We were suppose to believe our two guard savior was some kid from Atlanta that played his freshman year at Stanford in the PAC 12 !?!? 45 min down the road in Terre Haute all last year and from Pike HS unreal man . reality just not a well coached team . Talented yes but not well coached . Quote
Irishman Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 Today may have been THE worst game I have seen. What an absolute dog shit effort. Just 3 points from the starting guards? On how many missed shots? Coach sums it up well. 1 Quote
EasyEJay Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Well believe the nail was driven into the coffin around 7:22 last night at SSAH. not really sure how or when it will happen . I’m guessing he will get to finish the season unless more issues happen like towards the end of the game with Ballo and Rice . If I was a betting man I would say sometime next month a press release will be issued that says he will “retire” at the end of the season. said it in a previous post when all those things were going down last year I thought the Woodson era would come to an end in March 2025 . 1 Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Missed the game, one of my buddies in group text made a reference about YIKES IU, then saw the 1st H score, What happened with Ballo and Rice?? @EasyEJay What a train wreck AGAIN I have long stated that B10 is great with a functional IU team, however, not sure that is needed now anymore with the expansion. Also is IU still the better destination then Purdue? If so why? Quote

Coach Nowlin Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Disregard , saw on X timeline........ looked like fake tough guy moves by Ballo Quote
EasyEJay Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I’m sure you’ve seen it by now but Goode hard box out gets called for a foul . Illinois Center taunts him in what Slavic language he speaks . Rice comes over and shoves him away from Goode everyone starts holding everyone back . Then Ballo comes in and shoves the center super late to the ground . 2 techs on Rice and Ballo , Ballo was ejected . 2 techs on Illinois . But as Robbie Hummel mentioned not really sure why Underwood felt the need to have his starters and main rotational guys in the game up almost 30 with 2 min left . 2 Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted January 16 Posted January 16 agree with Robbie there as well. Bad look all around Listened to DD yesterday Indy Show, Mercy 1 Quote

Coach Nowlin Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Even more hollow coming from a guy who choose Illinois then transferred...... Quote
EasyEJay Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Welp another game that was a microcosm of the Woodson tenure . Any little shred of hope for season stability was washed away last night in the 2nd half in Evanston with a flurry of 3’s from the Wildcats . Woodson now 0-5 vs Collins Indiana returns home this weekend to play Maryland. The risk of a toxic environment at an all time high . Something has to be said or done by Scott Dolson before the game . Otherwise the environment that will unfold if IU doesn’t completely dominate the game risks permanent damage to the imagine of the program for potential future coaching candidates/ players if that isn’t already the case . I don’t not think / expect Woodson to be fired during the season . As I don’t think there is anyone of IUs bench that I would wanna watch coach this team anyway. Rosemond was suppose to bring in a pipeline of southern talent ? Carlyle and Banks ? Yeah that’s worked out well . I’m not sure what Hunter does besides get us in the finals for recruits that choose other programs. Walsh seems like a nice enough guy and decent recruiter but it’s the Xs and Os part IU is lacking . And Cheaney ? Well just not experienced enough for my taste . Also don’t want to get into an OSU situation if they were to get on a run feeling like you have to hire the interim . the common sense approach would be to issue a statement saying Woodson is “retiring” at the end of the season . Sit him down and say look you have x amount of games left coach your ass off maybe sneak into the tourney , try to enjoy it and have fun and ride off into the sunset you are 65 years old you don’t need this stress. And we don’t want to have to fire a program legend . Think of the program Mike . Woodson should pick up the phone and thank TJD and JHS otherwise his tenure my have mirrored his buddy Kenny Paynes at U of L . As far as coaching candidates no real point in discussing all wishful thinking and waste of time and energy. I will say I’ve never understood the opposition to Alford….. 700 wins 20 seasons of 20 or more wins . Multiple sweet 16s with multiple programs. I’ll keep watching out of sole curiosity for what happens . Talk to you all in March for Search Season . 1 Quote

Coach Nowlin Posted January 27 Posted January 27 what an ugly finish again That assistant coach who lost his mind on the timeout before the horrendous play at the end, then looked like he snapped at Woodson...... then the play..... then the horrendous result of said play, then Woodson and pycho assistant tried belining to the locker room and forgot about the customary hand shake, until Coach Goode reminded them ...... Man..... what fixes this? Is it removal of Quinn Buckner of all things ? Dolson got Football right........ Quote
Irishman Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 Buckner's current term ends this year. I don't see an exact date, just 2025. I cannot remember when ballots are sent out. I voted for him in previous terms but likely will not if he runs again. I am not sure if the board has term limits or not. But if his term goes until the end of this calendar year, that could be a problem. That said, I think even he sees that Woodson cannot be here another season. I MIGHT be the rare IU alum/fan that thinks I would be ok with Sampson coming back. Sure he was blatant in what he did wrong, but the fact is that what got him in trouble was made acceptable by the NCAA after he was fired. The guy is a damn good coach and recruiter. Quote

Oh man something about great minds Irish always thought the same thing . People forget year 1 of Sampson 21 wins and took UCLA to the wire in the round of 32 who needed up in the final four then signs Eric Gordon and proceeded to position IU at 22-4 when they fired him . He is a hell of a basketball coach! I believe I read somewhere Buckners term is up in June . And they do have terM limits so he is done after . Came to post some conspiracy theories. I believe Dolson is making a final push . Dane Fife did 2 interviews the last 2 days. I first saw he was on Dakich show and thought nothing of it since it’s Purdue week . Fife has always been pretty tight lipped after everything unfolded the way it did and doesn’t bash too much. I just think that’s who he is a person . Then I saw Rabjohns on 107.5 in the AM listened pretty much what I thought sounded like a media guy whose bitter Woodson took away his access to the program . but Then I saw Fife was on JMV today! I thought ok I’ll give it a listen and WOW like a chapter or 2 from a tell all book really interesting insights . So I decided to go back and listen to the Dakich interview too and it also was pretty revealing BUT a little more tame . im wondering if Dolson or something close to Dolson heard Fife first interview with Dakich and then told him hey don’t feeL like you have to hold back and he did say he still talks to Dolson directly ……… on JMV and he didn’t go scorched earth by any means but was more than worth the listen so is the Dakich interview but man the JMV one was awesome. I’ve maintained for a while now that I believed Woodson would make it till the end of the season but I’m not so sure if they get blown out tomorrow night I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dolson make the move. Just one humble football coaches opinion. 2 Quote
Irishman Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 I was a fan of Fife, but know he was undermining the program on recruiting visits. He would get pissy when the conversation on a visit turned to NIL money. I am not so sure he wants back in the game in the current shape it's in now. I think he burned some bridges in Bloomington too. Quote
EasyEJay Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Forget Woodson being fired they need to give Yasir Rosemond the Dane Fife treatment . First off dude came with “baggage” that all IU fans say they don’t want in a HC with being named in the FBI pay for play scandal . Then the guy was suppose to unlock this pipeline of talent in the South and what has that produced ? I know I sound like a broken record but seriously we passed up on Swope , Conwell , or Julian Larry from Indiana State 1 hour west and 2 of them being from the state for Carlyle and Rice ? Unreal man . Bench them both of them sit Rosemond on the far end of the bench with the GAs Start Galloway , Leal , Goode , Mgbako and Ballo . Tucker and Reneau get bench min and see where the chips fall in the month of February. 1 Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I told Irish, after the game, I feel bad for Galloway, Leal and Goode, it matters to them, and not just Purdue week, just for the name on the front, its clear. .... How GOODE didn't have an offer to IU is exactly seems to be what has plagued the program last 3 decades give or take a one off year. Yes, Yasir fella is who I keep seeing on the Bench looking like a complete knucklehead......he is the first one I get rid of. how many more games does IU win if they have that kind of analytical output consistently? I’m not sure they will be able to replicate the game they played Friday night in West Lafayette the rest of the year . im not confident they can win a game the rest of the way . Seriously maybe home vs Penn State (whose falling off a cliff ) , and cellar dweller Washington (but that’s on the road) so who knows . again I worry about the environment Saturday at Assembly Hall with Michigan coming to town . First off they are a nightmare match up . Wolfe too big and strong to guard with Goode or Mgbako . Too athletic and perimeter oriented to guard with Reneau . 2nd well you know a young talented coach who is having immediate success who is now coaching a conference rival . Over under on student section chants of “fire Mike Woodson” “we want Dusty” . It’s gonna be a bad bad bad look . I just can’t fathom Dolson not saying ANYTHING between now and Saturday . Unless nuclear level implosion of the program is the only way the BOT allows him to move on at the end of the season? I’ve said I’m perfectly fine letting him finish the season , I think it’s probably the best look for the program but you HAVE to calm down the fan base by letting them know . This is it . It will be over in a month best for all parties involved and you have to sit Woodson down and make him understand that it’s so frustrating as a fan . Everything today is set up in a way that you’ll never have to endure the Crean 3 year rebuild . and I could care less about anything relating to a new coach . Past , Present , age , where he from , what “baggage” he has. 1 thing and 1 thing only a winner period . 1 Quote
EasyEJay Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Gotta admit last year I didn’t pay much attention to the Dusty May desire . Always hesitant on unproven mid major coaches (thanks Archie) . And also knew no way Woodson was going anywhere. as we creep closer to the end finally I’ve read up on May and his background more and man I have to admit would “seem” like a solid fit dare I say it ? Could he be IUs version of Matt Painter ? Obviously the connections with IU are there but what stands out most to me is the worth ethic and humility May seems to show . Something that doesn’t exists in the slightest with Mike Woodson . Is May a realistic option after just 1 year in Ann Arbor or is he even interested at this point and IU missed their chance last year ? Who knows but either way always looking for teams to root for since IU will be absent once again from March Madness might be Go Blue for me in the month of March . Man Saturday is gonna be must see TV ! 1 Quote
