As I was driving my daughter, the Gipperette, to Lowell High School yesterday, I noticed trucks by the Inferno.  I soon learned they were there to install artificial turf...

I officiated a lot of big games in The Inferno. Great atmosphere. But by November, that field was hard as a rock. Very tough on the feet.

I believe I was there for a Lowell vs FW Dwenger game that you officiated once. Was a heck of a game.

Oh yes, the 2007 semistate, won by Lowell on a field goal with about 30 sec. left, 10-7. I was never so glad to see a game not go into overtime … One of my favorite games of all time.

Yep early 2000s are college practice field was natural grass and due to overuse it became cement essentially, luckily you don’t tackle in cfb practice but I had such bad knee tendinitis form planting and cutting
