      Corrupt files   07/26/2017

The server files for the forum were lost early in the morning 26,July 2017.   I restored the forum but using a fresh install of the forum software but we lost all of the images stored on the server. The way I see it... no big deal as it gives us a fresh start.   Over the next couple days I will restore the images I have saved for the forum. but I do not have everyone personal image. You can easily restore that yourself. Any pictures shared in a post that were stored here are also gone... again a fresh start of no clutter.    I just wanted to let you know what was going on. This will display until 1, Sept 2017.

    Congrats and good luck!
  2. What has happened to this website??

Viewership may be growing, but posters are dying off. You need to find a way to turn the people who are viewing topics into people who are typing about topics. Until you do that you are just paying for bandwidth without any content to follow.
  3. 2017 pre season 1A top ten?

I don't think it matters what the response was, nothing was going to please you. People asked what they thought it meant with the coach leaving, those closer to the program than you gave their opinion and of course you aren't happy with the answer. We said it was down you said it was down by our definition of the word, so I fail to see what your issue was with the response. It seems like we need to use the South Newton conversion scale of success to help you, so here it goes: By LCC standards it will be worse than what they are used to, but if this was South Newton you would be happy with what the future has in store. Hope that helped.
  4. 2017 pre season 1A top ten?

Whoops. Sorry about that, it is now removed. For anyone who read my post before it is edited, it was all my opinion. I have absolutely no clue about the intentions of LCC in hiring a coach and the one I talked about above. Just my thoughts.
  5. 2017 pre season 1A top ten?

I really haven't heard much about any of this. No clue on who the potential hires are or who will follow. I know his dad and I believe brother were both assistants. The one thing I don't know is if they currently reside close to Indy or would commute.
  6. 2017 pre season 1A top ten?

Haven't posted in quite a while so I will just blurt out all of my thoughts real quick so I can go back into hiding. LCC will be down regardless of who is coaching. They have lost a lot of talent and experience from the last 2 classes. The classes of 16 and 17 had a ton of kids who had been starting since their sophomore years and had 2 good post seasons against 2A. Now they are gone. Last year the QB was their major offensive threat. He is gone, along with 2 of his best receiving threats. As foxbat said, the 7th and 8th grade classes have low numbers, so I don't see LCC being a juggernaut again for quite a while if at all. O'Shea stepped into a pretty good situation when he took over at LCC, he had a junior class that nearly everyone at LCC felt would win a state championship after they finished with a close loss to Sheridan. They won a state championship in a pretty dominating fashion their senior year. Then he had 2 years where he could rely on DA at RB, who eventually had a brief stint on the colts practice squad as a WR. He won 2 state championships with DA leading the pack. I don't know if those teams were as well rounded as the one he first won a championship with. But when you have an RB with pro potential in 1A, you are basically playing with cheat codes on. I think his 4th state championship definitely took some work and he really earned that one. Then LCC played in 2A with a pretty good young group of players and still had pretty good success depending on who you talk to. It wasn't too much of a surprise when they moved back down to 1A and ran the table. Then 2016 seemed like it was going to be the last hoorah to win a state championship and they fell a little short of making it to the big game. Where I am trying to get with is, O'Shea is a great coach who could make great half time adjustments, but he didn't exactly turn water into wine. More like grape juice into wine. The two seasons before he came on LCC had gone 19-2 and most probably knew LCC had even better talent coming up the ranks. Years from now people will probably look back at the numbers at CC next to O'Shea's name and think "Wow he really turned that program around, and it once he left they couldn't cope without him." But in reality it was already turned around, he just hopped on board and took the wheel. The players O'Shea had during his tenure would have had great success regardless of who was coaching, O'Shea was the guy who was able to squeeze all of the success out of them. That will set the bar high, higher than what will probably be attainable in the future. LCC is currently on a downward trend and I am not sure how long that will be and how far down that will go. LCC has historically had mixed performances like most programs. Good years are good, bad years are bad, and typically it is in between. LCC had an unusual string of good years with one good coach who had the opportunity to make the most of it. My expectations are low going into 2017, I doubt many LCC faithful are expecting a new coach to come in and replicate O'Shea's record. I am more curious if LCC will be able to land a coach who wants to be there for a long term and deal with some tough years and try to build the program back up, or if it will just be used as a quick stepping stone to move on to bigger opportunities.

Didn't Danny have an ACL tear?

Is this for certain. I knew Linton was close. Didn't know there was anything official with enrollment.

Congrats Miners. Glad to see you aren't moving up without a title.

Kind of disappointed that this thread is still single digit pages with 1 day to go.

I think this game will relieve a lot of stress on both sides. Pioneer had won so many games against LCC, then LCC took the reigns for a decade. I'm sure a lot of Pioneers fans and players have been waiting for the day where LCC was not a threat to stop them from going all the way. This year Pioneer didn't have to wait for a surprise team to takeout LCC and clear the way for Pioneer. Pioneer strapped up and took LCC down themselves. On LCC's side I think the relief is that they won't have to go into every game with a target on their back now. With every win against 1A teams, that target kept getting bigger. All O'Shea has known while at LCC has been success. He set new bars with every state championship but as I said a while back and I'm sure others have, this level of success was unsustainable at the 1A level and eventually LCC would come back down, and I think the loss last night is where that begins. It doesn't mean LCC can't win another state championship. But LCC will start to resemble Sheridan after the NZ years, a team that isn't a favorite but one that you should never count out.

I agree with everything you said. I also think Jackson Anthrop could be considered in the same class, but his line was extremely good. For Jacksons argument you also need to consider he was in 2A his Sophmore and Junior year. Danny had less to work with and succeeded. That is why he got a shot at the pros. I don't think there was one LCC supporter who didn't think JK was extremely good after last year. As I said earlier this year, I expected the young Kiser to win at least 2 titles as long as (knocks on wood) he doesn't get hurt. He is about as good as a running threat as it comes in high school football. He's built well, has good size and strength. And he runs like he has been playing varsity ball for 4 years. No doubt that comes from competing against older brothers. I find that the youngest tend to be the toughest from having to compete against older siblings. If Pioneer doesn't win this year I see them as the favorites for the next 2. Kiser is a work horse that you can just feed the ball to. Good luck the rest of the way.

I just want to start with a congrats to Pioneer and Coach Berry. Coach Johnson couldn't overcome LCC the decade and Berry does it with his first at bat. Let's be honest here. This was a 1 pt game with a missed extra point kick from LCC (and I don't want to put all the blame on him because he has been fantastic ever since he took on the role). Now if LCC made it and it goes into overtime, I really don't know who wins, I wouldn't bet money on either, both seemed very evenly matched. With that said, I won't say Pioneer won because they ran the ball. Pioneer was the last one to score and you make it sound like Pioneer was in control the whole game because of the running game. Last time I checked a key 4th down conversion from the panthers came from a pass. I think Pioneer's DBs deserved a lot of credit. Even though LCC had some good pass plays it seemed like most of time Pioneer had good coverage. Denhart just put in the one spot where only his receiver could get it. I also think Their D-line did a good job of pressuring the Knight's QB. Denhart has looked pretty cool and calm under pressure this year, but if the receivers aren't open the only other option is to tuck and run. Sometimes Denhart was able to go down field, sometimes the decision was a little too late. While I don't think it was directly because of the running game that Pioneer won, they definitely ran it well. Big turn around from last year. So I will give you that. I won't say anything about two players or being tired, never had. These are 14-18 year-old kids, sure they may be tired, but they don't wear down like they are in their 40s. Overall it was a great game. The result was how you would expect two top 3 teams to play against each other. The one good outcome for this is that LCC will remain in 1A and to me it seems like next year, that is probably how it should be. With the young Kiser at the helm of Pioneer it will be real tough for them to make it out of regionals for the next 2 years, even sectionals should be pretty competitive. This senior class consisted of a lot of very good skill players so it will be interesting to see who steps up this year. Again, great game, congrats, and good luck the rest of the way. Also, please define how many years. He's great no doubt, but I would put him as the most dominant player this year IMHO.

Will the LCC/Pioneer game be streaming online anywhere?
  15. 1A Season Thread

The question is, are there any teams left in the tourney that can pass the way that Attica can? I only saw the 4th quarter, but even with Attica having players that looked tired, banged up and realizing that the game was near the end, they still were hurting LCC in the air. Not sure how I feel about LCC next game. Since last year I've always felt like the young Kiser could lead Pioneer to 2 state titles. Maybe it could be this year. I haven't been paying too much attention to the knights this year, but has LCC played a team who had a running threat of Kisers ability? I believe he is the QB this year, not sure how that impacts his play compared to being a FB/RB and getting a hand off full steam ahead. It was the power that he ran with that impressed me. He was bulldozing the LCC D last year as a freshmen. People say the LCC run D is still very strong but I haven't seen enough games to make that call. But as many posters have said the past 4 years, to beat LCC you will need to put the ball in the air, and they haven't played many teams in those 4 years who did. But the ones who have usually made it a much closer game. Guess we will see if any teams watch the Attica tape and decide to add some new plays in the playbook.
