In the table for Rule 8-1 "Point Values" it says that when a team tries for the point(s) after a TD that the touchdown (2 point play) is worth 2 points, and a field goal or safety is worth 1 point. Field goal is kicking the EP, but how would a 1 point safety be awarded. I've seen 1 point safety in multiple college games, but I thought it was impossible in high school since a ball is dead in the end zone when the defense obtains possession through an interception or recovery of a ball fumbled into the end zone?

Southside @ Luers- calhoun street brawl is what fall is all about..Archers snuck one in last year just as they did with a few scores at sparty..The knights play keep away and save the cyo from going 0-2 this week..Knights by 6. Homestead @ Northrop- both programs have yet to be full strength this season..sparty gets back a massive lineman while the Bruins hope their next D1 recruit can go this week..Bruins show they are legit even without him, heck even their freshmen make plays..they win by 13 Snider @ Wayne- all the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put the mighty panthers together again..the generals show fight and put up a good show for their avid 10 person cheer block as the Panthers scrape together a 16 point win as another possible sub .500 season looms..

“Real” gold is the only …well, real shade of gold. The others are gold-ish.

Well, “ahem”, I was attending a dinner party last night and not the Quarterback Club so I have nothing to offer (nor any knowledge of injuries) excepting cliches so….here we go: ”Next man up” ”It’s a team sport, there are eleven key players each fulfilling their role” (I made that one up) ”We shall endeavor to persevere” (Chief Dan George in “The Outlaw Josey Wales”….one of my favs) Please feel free to insert your cliche of choice.

They amped it up against Roncalli after he went out, so you never know. Hopefully a good/close game with no injuries on either side.

Roncalli took such a noble stance that varsity football was the only sport they cancelled with Cathedral? Right. I’d use another word to describe Roncalli’s actions but it would get censored.

Reasonably good chance of that next year but I don’t track points like I used to.

If agreements mean nothing then I guess it’s baloney. Guess I forgot the “baloney” exclusions part of my Contracts class.

Stir the pot until Chatard, Roncalli and Cathedral are all in the same sectional, we will.

I already told them in the college forum that they have to run the table to make the postseason. Back on topic, are we going to see the SIAC champion be a one loss team/s, or can someone run the table?

It's a bunch of baloney. 1) Cathedral nor Brebeuf are diocesan schools. Nether should be held to the same standard as diocesan schools. Roncalli started hemorrhaging kids to both Cathedral and Center Grove as they were an emerging power at the time 2) Roncalli had ZERO issue scheduling Cathedral in any other IHSAA sport after this "agreement" was reneged and has been that way for the last 20 years. They used to/still(?) play freshman/JV football against Cathedral. Bottom line, Cathedral turned the tables on Roncalli after being Roncalli's whipping by for several seasons and Roncalli responded by taking their ball and going home.
