Kick coverage could also use some attention. Not sure against Washington, but sometimes players like Toler and Winchell would be added to kickoff teams for big games.

That I totally agree with and made the same statement last week. There were many reasons for the Apollo loss (a game we should have won by 2 scores) but special teams was/is a serious problem. The wild thing about that is the fact that special teams is usually the very thing that wins us close games.

It won't be a good matchup unless HH solves its special teams issues. At this point, let's just go for two every time.

The Toyota Twigs has a nice ring to it.

Fort Branch "Twigs" is one of the best Indiana H.S. mascot names ever. The Gibson Southern consolidation should have kept it instead of the rather generic Titans moniker. Maybe "Elite Twigs" to also roll in the Haubstadt mascot.

That prediction is a bit wild. I'd give the edge to GS in this game due to the OL and DL loss we incurred. We got plenty of skinny kids to run fast, we lost it all with that OL, which was the same guys on the other side..... It should be a good match up.

Attica @ NV - I didn't expect RP to have a running clock at halftime vs NV last week after what NV was able to do and comeback against Covington. They will redeem themselves this week with a home with against Attica. 44-12 Covington @ PH - Tough loss for the Woofs last week at Seeger. I was concerned the PH run game would be too much for the Patriots. Seeger tossed the ball around like it was 7vs7 against them. Covington doesn't have the kids or offense Seeger does. Give me PH and a running clock. 42-6 Fountain Central @ Seegers - Seegers responded well with a win that could get them to 2nd place in the conference. A place many did not think they would be this year. Salts had nearly 400 yards passing and 7 TDs. FC got a nice win as well. Give me Salts and the Patriots to outgun Coach Earl and Mustangs. Seeger 38 FC 20 RP @ SV - @WRC123 -- We were told a couple weeks ago that its not just one player from SV, its several. Some moved across the river and others simply transferred to play for Coach Sanders. Another week and another RP running back that hasn't touched the ball this year has 3 TD's in a game. While I didn't go over this super close, the numbers you have highlighted are the same numbers that I have. Maybe the graphic will be correct. 🤣 That'd be ironic. Dave is seldom (almost never) wrong, and the graphic might be right? We will see....more to come.

Only one interesting game this week. Attica @ NV - Listened to the Attica FC game a little bit on the radio and the Ramblers put up a bit of a fight early on last week. I think they will do the same this week but it won't be enough. Falcons get their second win of the year. Falcons 54-6 Covington @ PH - PH will bounce back after a tough lose last week. It sounds like the Wolves had a couple chances later in the second half but Seeger's defense was too much for them. The Wolves win by as much as they want. How does the future look for the Trojans? FC @ Seeger - Game of the week. Seeger is coming off a big win last week and the Mustangs started slow last week. I think both programs are in good hands with their coaching but I will have to give the edge to the experience at Seeger. Can FC slow down the powerful passing attack? Can Seeger stop the slow methodical FC offense then a big touchdown out of no where? I'll take the home team scoring one late to seal the game. 40-30 RP @ SV - Like we've all been saying for months the Panthers will have starters out by halftime the rest of the year. They getting so bored they gave a linemen a handoff for a touchdown last week lol. Panthers win by as much as they want. I wouldn't be surprised if the SV kid finds the endzone.

I have to fix this thing every year! This is the 55th meeting between Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern, with the Patriots leading the all-time series 36-18. The Patriots also faced the three schools that consolidated to form Gibson Southern during the 1972 and 1973 seasons, going 0-2 against Jack Jewell's Fort Branch Twigs, 1-1 against Haubstadt and 2-0 against Owensville. In the first season of Patriot football, Heritage Hills went 9-1, with its only loss coming 15-12 to Jewell's Fort Branch Twigs. The Jack Jewell-led Titans won the first three meetings of the Heritage Hills-Gibson Southern series, defeating Roger Snow's Patriots in 1974, 1975 and 1976. The Patriots didn't earn their first win in the series until 1977, the same year Bob Ashworth became Heritage Hills' head coach. That season was also Hall of Famer Bob Clayton's only year as offensive coordinator at Heritage Hills. Ashworth moved on to Evansville Reitz the following season, and Clayton took over the Heritage Hills program. Gibson Southern has won 14 of the last 23 meetings, a stretch that began with Rick Stefanich's 35-34 win in 2010 that snapped Heritage Hills' streak of 21 consecutive wins over the Titans. Heritage Hills and Gibson Southern have played five overtime games in the series, including the famous 7-0 five-overtime game in 1982. In the Nick Hart/Todd Wilkerson era, Hart's Titans lead the series 13-8. Since Hart took over at Gibson Southern in 2012, the rivalry has included several postseason rematches and dramatic finishes.
