All high school officials should be intimately familiar with the National Federation’s Game Officials Manual. But there are many, many situations covered only briefly, if at all, by the NF Manual. In such cases, Indiana officials were left to struggle as to the proper way to officiate those situations. Crews dealt with those situations in a variety of ways, something that does not serve one of the IHSAA’s critical objectives for its football officials: Consistency. But that is about to change. Many states publish officials’ manuals that supplement and augment the NF Manual. Indiana has now joined the ranks of those states that provide additional assistance and guidance to football officials, well over and above that provided by the NF Manual. On Monday, June 14, the IHSAA will make available on the my.IHSAA officials' dashboard “IHSAA Football Officials Mechanics and Best Practices For a Crew of Five.” It will become the “Bible” for high school football officiating in Indiana, providing both a standard to which officials can work, and specific criteria on which performance is to be judged. The IHSAA will notify all officials of the Manual’s availability online. As officials download and familiarize themselves with the 93 page Manual, please post observations here. The Manual is a work in progress, and will be regularly updated. But the important thing is we now have a comprehensive set of practices which will help every crew officiate the game better, and provide a more consistent officiating product. I expect it will have an immediate positive impact on the quality of high school football officiating in Indiana. I’d enjoy observations, especially from the coaches’ viewpoint, on this watershed development in football officiating.

This is why I stayed in Fort Branch Indiana....my kids can actually walk across town to see their friends. I LOVE watching the football products the Indy area 6As can put on the field....but for me personally (and I say this in full view of the sun that we each set different priorities in life and I don't judge anyone for thiers)...I will flip burgers before I move to one of those communities.

A lot of noise coming from south east indy this off season. I think Franklin Central football is back on the map. They are going to ruin a lot of teams seasons this year. I'm gonna say that they will be, by far, the most improved team in the state. Look out 6A!

I would agree almost entirely, but I would put Jeffersonville ahead of Seymour because Bell County is a really tough program. I also think Mount Vernon is an underrated opponent, as the PAC folks seem to think of them as a dark horse kind of team. Jeff has to go to MV, which will be quite a haul. East always plays a tough schedule and I think that helps them in the post season. It's nice to see New Albany and Floyd schedule tough. Like Male, Dupont Manual is a magnet school in Louisville, which means students have to apply to get in, so both school almost have this private school kind of vibe going for them, which seems to benefit them in athletics. Manual has won at least 9 games in 3 of the past 6 seasons, so they are always solid. I love the NA/GS matchup. I think it could go either way.

Screagle nailed it. Admin forced out a good coach who was consistent and dedicated. North did the same thing to Coach Wilson and they struggled mightily with the new guy who won 12 games in 5 seasons. At one time Bosse had a pretty strong athletic program, now the only sport that has any sustained success is boys basketball. That program appears to rule the roost.

Don’t worry, Muda, camp was voluntary and they had plenty of time to play video games afterward.

I believe the website, Lettermen row, is calling him a must get not the Buckeyes. I believe Caden Curry is a great high school player and wish him nothing but the best of luck going forward but I doubt a school as talented as Ohio State has any recruit as a "must get."
