Are you asking about Gibson Southern? They have 703 students when they did the count for the 2019-2020 Iand 2020-2021 HSAA enrollment and classification. In the IHSAA school directory they list 698 students.

Especially with the threat of Ellspermann on a QB draw or some other keeper. He’s quick and elusive for a QB. And he showed that a couple times last year. That said, his backup might well be a freshman (assuming it’s not Russell). So they may make a concerted effort for him to take as few hits as possible.

I may be in the minority here but the pageantry and tradition of college football is what keeps me tuned in. The sport has a lot of flaws but walking around your favorite college campus (particularly if it’s in the Midwest) on a fall Saturday morning in anticipation of a big contest is a feeling like no other. The names on the back of the jerseys are secondary to me honestly. I’ll watch regardless and pay little attention to what those players end up doing on Sundays.

I know very little about EM, but I do know this... They have the best uniforms in the state.

I think the Qb play in the state game was really eye opening. I think that without weather factors really showed what this kid could do. He dropped some dimes. I think it’s easy to compare scores between teams ,and see the result of the state game and say that other teams would have been a better match up for Roncalli. That Qb was on a different level that day compared to what his tape would show. Hobart definitely sold out to stop the run game and did a decent job.. but the efficiency ( and big play ability)of Roncalli passing game was unexpected and no fluke, they just had some great conditions to unleash it. I’m very curious to see the growth this season. Shame it’ll be them and Chatard so early but we all knew that was coming. As a Hobart guy I think it’s important that it’s said what great sportsmanship Roncalli kids and administrators showed to Hobart. The comments the Roncalli kids made about how hard the Hobart kids hit and played as well as the letter sent to the boys from the administration showed a lot of class. I know that the boys would love the chance to run it back…. Regardless of the last outcome.
