Toss in RCHS in that mix, and Sheridan who departed when LCC entered, and in the last 15 seasons, the HC has sent five different programs, across three classes, to LOS to represent the conference in 14 finals and brought home 11 blue rings. And four of those five programs were 1A/2A.

Many times this year where I’ve thought man , where would IU be if Xavier Johnson was healthy? Last night was one of them may have limited Perkins . Biggest issue lastnight was IU just flat didn’t have a wing athletic enough or a guard big enough to guard Murray . There was a lot on the line for IU to come out that flat , not that I’m surprised they got beat just played that horrible. Should be the last time the national media falls in love with them consistent guard play gets you deep in March and the only Big Team that has anything close to that IMO is Maryland with Jamir Young . Audgie and Bouie are close for NW but got exposed vs Maryland . Honestly won’t be surprised if not a single Big Ten team makes it past the Sweet 16 .

And crashing back to earth they come......Granted though, nothing was stopping Iowa in this one. Seems they pick a few games a year to shoot like they have, and be average at best the rest of the season. That said, I really dislike this Iowa team....and their coach.....just seems to be a lack of class in all of them. The constant shit talking to fans is not needed. And McCaffery has always been a dick, so they seem to take after him.

TW, Danville, and Lebanon really haven’t grown that much, but the gap is increasing because some of the other SAC schools, especially North Montgomery and Southmont, are seeing a decline in enrollment. Here’s a comparison going back 15 years to 2007-08 and the enrollments from count day this past fall. School - 2007 Enrollment / 2022 Enrollment Danville - 811 / 778 Lebanon - 1033 / 1027 Tri-West - 560 / 615 Crawfordsville - 726 / 689 Frankfort - 906 / 895 North Montgomery - 684 / 516 Southmont - 651 / 477 Western Boone - 619 / 556

Completely agree from a football standpoint. When you factor in all of the other sports being played I don't see the small schools wanting them to join.

I hear this line of thinking all the time. But if this were actually true, the old NSC would have never broken up. Culver, Triton, LaVille would have been winning sectionals left and right! But look back at the facts. That simply didn't happen! Playing Bremen, Glenn, New Prairie and Jimtown every year DID NOT result in the small 1A teams having any kind of sustained tournament success! In fact, Triton has been much more competitive in tournament play since leaving the NSC.

That's what those schools should be saying. Pioneer should be next. Why would the small 1A schools want to bring in two additional schools with double their enrollments?

Unfortunately some programs aren't thriving to succeed. Attitude reflects leadership, and I question the leadership of my alma mater.
