  3. Jeffersonville earned the #4 spot with their 20-14 win at Seymour. The toughest part was choosing which team was #5. I put Seymour at #5 because they got down to the 7 yard line before falling just short on the last play against Jeffersonville. I know Lutheran has been an excellent team in 1A and 2A over the last decade, but a school the size of New Albany shouldn't lose to a school the size of Lutheran by 42 points. It feels like football is just something to do to pass the time at New Albany until basketball season starts.

  4. Completely agree with your comment about Floyd Central. I don’t think anyone touches them. As far as your rankings are concerned, I agree with 2 and 3. Not saying you’re wrong with the rest but I think 4 through 6 will be close. Or maybe Providence is going to have a really bad year and New Albany’s win against them wasn’t as impressive as we initially thought.

  6. Memorial over Reitz? Would that be a pick-em if played on Friday? Only two weeks away.

  7. New helmets for Madison this year. No center stripe.

  9. Crown Point's offense is more dynamic this year. They have a QB who can throw the ball and is committed to an FCS School, a 6'4 SR TE committed to Central Michigan, a 6'7 TE who is a starter on the basketball team, and a 6'2 Soph WR who will likely be a D1 recruit. But, they still like to line up in jumbo sets and run the ball behind a large OL. They left some points on the board against Pike with drives stalling out in Pike territory. IMO, they need to get the passing game going and not rely so much on the power running game. Not being able to throw the ball killed them against Penn last year in Secitonals.

  10. I'm reading LA is going through a record setting heat wave. Found this article that listed game time temps at 91. For comparison, Tallahassee's high temp yesterday was around 88 with 95% humidity. FSU seemed to have a big crowd. Are USC fans soft or only show up for big games? Probably a mix of both. https://abc7.com/post/usc-fans-brave-extreme-heat-today-coliseum-trojan-footballs-season-opener/19758639/

  14. Dwenger beat em 9-6 last year. Dwenger’s offense so far is leaps and bounds ahead of last year at this time and defense looks great as well
