    It is a good start. Although I don't like the "permanent class" thing. Be promoted or relegated based on the success or failure of your program, not because you just happen to be in some power-5 conference.

    Much as the dogpiling in this thread is oversimplifying my arguments against artificial turf. Agreed. Government is generally more effective the more local it is. And it can be just and wasteful and corrupt as on the state or federal level.     No, that not is what my disagreement concerning turf fields is about. Again, please search my previous posts in this thread and others if you want to read my arguments against turf fields at the K-12 level.

    ISU is going to the NIT championship game on Thursday and will play Seton Hall. Then by the weekend they will have lost their coach, and probably four of their starting rotation, to St. Louis.     Yeah, myself and my fellow student athletes were scarred for life having to play on muddy football fields. And the trauma inflicted on the marching band was just..... well it was bad. But hey the student manager who had to wash all those muddy uniforms on a Saturday morning ended up turning the experience into moola, he now runs a successful dry cleaning business.

    Both. I've stated my reasoning for opposing artificial turf fields at the K-12 level multiple times on this forum, and I can assure you it is much more nuanced than "I own stock in sod". Go back and find those posts yourself, I don't feel the need to retype them again. Thank you.

    Yes, government bureaucracies need bean-counters. They tend to oppose the wild and extravagant spending like yourself and others champion. Why? Players getting cold and wet during and outdoor practice is now too big of a burden for them? The last time I checked football is not a 12-month sport in Indiana, or Michigan.
