  1. Western or Sheridan would be my personal choices, but it will probably be North Putnam. And I still haven't seen an answer as to why these 5 schools chose to leave the Sagamore instead of attempting to kick out the other three. Is anybody here privy to the Sagamore council bylaws and willing to share them?
  2. Short blurb from the Lebanon Reporter: https://www.reporter.net/sports/western-boone-four-others-separate-from-sagamore-conference/article_c2e203fc-ef58-11ed-a2c9-333c866941c9.html This sounds very different from what the Indy Star just reported.
  3. Yeah, kind of a strange way to do it. I don't know the bylaws of the Sagamore Conference but couldn't those five schools just vote the other three out? They have the majority.
  4. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2023/05/10/western-boone-four-other-schools-to-separate-from-sagamore-conference-indiana-high-school-sports/70204392007/ Never thought Webo would be the one to start the dominoes falling in the Sagamore.
  5. Peru High school football used to use the Purdue "P" on their helmets, not so sure about now. Their school colors were already the same as Purdue's so I guess that made sense.
  6. Thanks. Article doesn't state exactly how much the taxpayers in Fishers are on the hook for this boondoggle, so one can assume most if not all of the $550,000,000 stated in the beginning or the article. Robbery.
  7. I hate seeing taxpayers money wasted. Pity that you don't. BTW, here is a new stadium/arena boondoggle just announced here in Indiana: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nba/pacers/2023/05/08/pacers-news-mad-ants-moving-from-fort-wayne-to-noblesville/70196524007/ .... What the Indianapolis Star really means is that Noblesville taxpayers will be on the hook for at least $36.5 million. For a minor league developmental team. Crazy.
  8. They will never replace this: with this: One is a great, unique mascot designed by the late Joe Sneathen, a local artist who ran a sign company in Frankfort for many years. The other is, well, an abomination.
  9. How is my viewpoint shortsighted, Bash? Study after study has shown the complete money pit that publicly funded football stadiums have become, along with projected ancillary incomes that never materialized. And still frankly stupid individuals continue to support throwing their money away when it should be the billionaire owner putting up their own financing for such a project. What is shortsighted about that?
  10. Maybe this? https://www.womenhistoryblog.com/2012/11/frances-slocum.html
  11. And Maconaquah is located in Miami County. Oh the horror..........................
  12. Don't forget the Kokom Wildkats. And let PETA show up in Frankfort to protest the Hot Dogs. They will get run out of town on a rail, guaranteed.
  13. Politics, including athletic conference politics, is a competition, right? Gotta let the school A.D.'s get in there and get dirty from time to time.
  14. Oh, my local tax rate hasn't increased so the city politicians can crow about how they haven't "raised taxes". It sure seems like the city and county governments (which sets the assessed valuations) are colluding with each other.
  15. https://extension.purdue.edu/news/2023/03/property-tax-bills-are-increasing-a-lot-in-2023.html The assessed valuation the government puts on my modest home, which has stayed within about $5k of what I paid for it over 20 years ago has now increased in value over the last 2 years by over $55,000. It kind of sucks.

  17. Agreed, this is disgusting. And I know the couple of now deceased family member who were Navy veterans would feel the same.
  18. They used to have a good baseball program as well, and their boys soccer program is usually decent. Frankfort and Logansport share a number of socioeconomic demographics.
  19. You mean tells the likes of Marion, Muncie Central, Anderson, and Richmond to take a hike.
  20. Only the stupid voters of the city got what they voted for. And that seems to still be the majority of voters.
  21. Enrollment is still a large part of the classification equation.
  22. Yep. Thanks Biden. At the same time the assessed valuation the government puts on my modest home, which has stayed within about $5k of what I paid for it over 20 years ago has now somehow mysteriously increased in value over the last 2 years by over $55,000. This has of course the intended intention of greatly increasing my property tax burden so the city of Frankfort can pay for a new park, a new swimming pool, err excuse me aquatics center, and a new police station. And also tack on the bill coming due for the $30 million dollar renovation to Frankfort High School a few years ago. Yet the city politicians can crow "we didn't raise the tax rates to pay for all this". All I see is collusion between the city government and the county government, who is in charge of the property assessments.
  23. IHSAA tables the proposal: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2023/05/01/ihsaa-board-of-directors-tables-proposal-on-how-to-classify-four-class-sports/70172596007/
