  1. https://dailynorthwestern.com/2023/07/08/top-stories/former-nu-football-player-details-hazing-allegations-after-coach-suspension/ Disgusting. Mr. Fitzgerald at the very least should be fired, and probably most of his staff as well.
  2. No, I'm not. I honestly don't understand the dilemma regarding the situation Bobref described. I guess I don't agree in Bobref's scenario that the football team is "School B's team". The idea behind a co-op is that neither school A or school B can field a football team on it's own, hence the need to cooperate. It would be 'School A+B's team" would it not?
  3. Ok. I don't understand the conflict in such a situation. Two completely different sports.
  4. Supreme Court to Biden: You Can't Just Forgive $400 Billion in Student Loan Debt Without Asking Congress https://reason.com/2023/06/30/supreme-court-to-biden-you-cant-just-forgive-400-billion-in-student-loan-debt-without-asking-congress/ Nice to see the SCOTUS finally trying to rein in the abuse of power rampant in the Executive Branch. Now if only the Legislative Branch would do it's job.... And it looks like they will get their chance to shine, according to Mr. Biden's new scheme: https://apnews.com/article/student-loans-biden-democrats-gop-campaign-2024-37c7a2c3dbd38dc4bf53c3333413bcd7
  5. When Mr. Biden first took office there was some talk about expanding the SCOTUS, and he said he didn't support that. I wonder if these recent defeats will change his mind?
  6. It's all political, it has to be. Therefore it is all Trump's fault.
  7. Not I. And the placement of that bulldog logo on CN's helmets is stupid, IMHO.
  8. https://reason.com/2023/06/29/supreme-court-on-affirmative-action-eliminating-racial-discrimination-means-eliminating-all-of-it/ It is interesting to contrast the opinions of Mr. Thomas and Ms. Jackson. From a newsletter I subscribe to:
  9. Which is stupid, frankly. It should allow co-ops, like our neighbors to the west do, and with much success. This is what allows the students at a public school like the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities, which has no athletic programs at all, to play on the athletic teams at Muncie Burris.
  10. Thank you for policing the absolute scourge of grammar and spelling errors here on the GID. You are a beacon of hope for us all.
  11. Lab Leak Theory: 1, Misinformation Cops: 0 https://reason.com/2023/06/21/lab-leak-theory-confirmed-ben-hu-wuhan-china-covid/ Whose going to prison for this? Most likely no one. Again.
  12. Aaron Rodgers is set to speak at a psychedelics conference: https://apnews.com/article/aaron-rodgers-psychedelics-conference-bae8c5ae3f221770fb84b123a92cf2d2
  13. Mission accomplished @dcjjones . You got Gonzo to play Grammar/Spelling Nazi multiple times in one thread. 🙂
  14. https://mises.org/wire/leviathan-menu Yay. socialism. Coming to California fast food restaurant near you. And that is just the beginning................
  15. Michigan State Professor Forces Undergrads to Fund Leftist Groups https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/06/michigan-state-professor-forces-undergrads-to-fund-leftist-groups/ The lawsuit notes, however, that Wisner personally controlled the group and was using the substantial funds she extracted — nearly $60,000 — to engage in political speech and donate to advocacy groups that directly conflict with the rliegious beliefs of Barbieri and Radomski. For example, in a Facebook post, Wisner linked to a Facebook page associated with “The Rebellion Community” and wrote, “The Rebellion community is a safe place to coordinate our efforts to burn everything to the f***ing ground.” Wisner’s post also said, “100% of membership fees are donated to Planned Parenthood,” though elsewhere she stated that “Proceeds of The Rebellion Community membership fees are donated to organizations fighting systemic oppression.” Students pursuing a college degree shouldn’t have to wonder whether they are being defrauded into supporting political causes. By authorizing professors to force students to support speech antithetical to their deepest values and faith, Michigan State officials have violated the First Amendment and federal civil-rights laws. Many American universities have abandoned the once widely accepted notion that higher education is the pursuit of knowledge and that civil discourse is pivotal to a free society, but this case highlights a disturbing new development. At Michigan State, the cultural decline in academia has reached new depths, moving beyond indoctrination to coerced activism. And the yawns from our nation’s media are just as telling. Sinister behavior, and the MSM says nothing. Telling, isn't it?
  16. https://apnews.com/article/daniel-ellsberg-vietnam-war-pentagon-papers-12f57b417c372c1b8760a21d447cb502 A true American. He will be missed.
  17. Uggh, faux football. Either play the real game or don't play it all, ala Rossville, just about 10 miles down SR26 from Faith Christian.
  18. Cormac McCarthy, lauded author of ‘The Road’ and ‘No Country for Old Men,’ dies at 89: https://apnews.com/article/cormac-mccarthy-dies-98a5936a9b89409a9485a3a2bf2208ea Truly and American Literary Icon, he will be missed. The Road was probably the grimmest and most depressing book I have ever read.
  19. Trump's Federal Indictment Presents New Evidence of Deliberate Deceit and Obstruction https://reason.com/2023/06/12/trumps-federal-indictment-presents-new-evidence-of-deliberate-deceit-and-obstruction/ Look like Mr. Trump is toast with this indictment. So the question is will he continue to run for POTUS even after he is a convicted felon and he is behind bars?
  20. 'Unabomber’ Ted Kaczynski died by suicide in prison medical center, AP sources say: https://apnews.com/article/ted-kaczynski-unabomber-1197f597364b36e56bdbcaca9837bdc4?utm_source=ForYou&utm_medium=HomePage&utm_id=Taboola One of America's most infamous criminals. He will not be missed, although I think everybody should at least read his manifesto.

  22. The Iron Sheik, WWE Hall of Famer, dead at 81: https://www.mywabashvalley.com/entertainment-news/the-iron-sheik-wwe-hall-of-famer-dead-at-81/ Truly an American Wrestling Icon. He will be missed.
