I think you'd be more likely to see Westfield and Zionsville push to boot some of the other schools out of the HCC and look at re-votes to admit Carmel and/or Center Grove rather than jump ship to form a new conference.
Westfield was one of the main ones pushing to make sure Carmel and CG did not join the HCC.

Which is why I think you'll see a newly formed conference created down the road.
Carmel
Center Grove
Westfield
Brownsburg
HSE
Zionsville
That's a start. Fishers, Avon, Franklin Central, and Noblesville can decide if they want to play big boy football or not. MIC/HCC merger from there seems realistic.
I think you’d be more likely to see Fishers and Avon instead of a Westfield and Zionsville.

MIC = no confidence in themselves to compete with Carmel and CG. Biggest schools in Indy and it’s a disgrace for them not to have Carmel or CG in conference anymore. Let alone even playing them. Loser mindset.
HCC = scared to bring in CG and Carmel. Afraid of wanting to push their programs to the top. I do realize this was not all of the schools and had other reasons aside from football because of other sports.

You seriously believe Center Grove and Carmel got the boot because they had ideas of joining another conference?
I believe so yes. And reasons of them winning in majority of every sport. It was a way for them to kick them out.

I think Detroit King is significantly better than everyone else on Warren's schedule.
It’s easy to start thinking highly of a team just because they have a couple big time commits. Doesn’t necessarily translate to being the best team on the field.

BD is not the big scheduling draw it used to be. Nobody from out of state is breaking down the walls to play BD. Penn walked away years ago. I doubt any of the current 3 head coaches will still be in their posts in 3 years. New people with new ideas and new attitudes are coming in. Old school football people, in both athletics and administration, are disappearing quickly. It was new gen admins who voted CA and CG out of The MIC.
I’ll take you up on that bet. You really think that Ben Davis, Carmel, and CG will have new coaches in just 3 years? Come on now. Simmons is there to stay and is plenty young, Hebert is there to stay, and Moore has not lost in 2 years. I believe he is there for longer than 3 years.

tutsie is back as d-coord at warren so the grit and toughness should be back
new o-coord as well with great experience, warren the next few years will be LOADED...its alot of hate for the far east side and thats to be expected. i also saw someone said the athletes arent there anymore which is so far from the truth....WC has NEVER shy'd away from comp, especially CG or Carmel....truth be told, they, CG and Carmel, dont want to play the MIC schools and yes its political AND comp. ive sat in on plenty discussions from former coaches at all the schools.
patterson has LC on the UP, LN IS LN, mallory will do whatever he wants, BD will be BD, and NC, well, when is basketball season?!?
What happened the previous d coordinator? Who is the new O coordinator?

As I’ve stated multiple times, I feel that conference Indiana is dead. However, I do believe getting Tech into conference Indiana could revitalize the conference with more stability as far as football goes. This would definitely be more competitive for tech in most sports as well. The MIC sounds great, but football wise it would be a disaster.

Are we for certain they would be voted in? Or are we for certain that CG is planning another go at this?
Rumors are still floating around of CG and potentially Carmel creating their new conference. Drawing the likeness of a few of those HCC schools. These are rumors that have some substance…

Have all 4 indicated they are dropping CA and CG after the 2022 contracted games have been fulfilled? I believe WC and BD have both indicated their desire to keep playing Hounds and Trojans in non con play.
Warren does not want to play the Trojans. They are working hard to get them off of their schedule.

Cosmetic city?

Its a huge treat and a big bonus for a high school football coach to have a D1 lineman prospect on his football team. For the vast majority of schools, they come along rarely, and often can and do provide a huge boost and a competitive advantage.
How about the opportunity to coach "2" D1 linemen on the same roster in the same year?
For that matter, lets just fully stretch this out and make it "3" D1 linemen on the same roster in the same season.
Private schools Indianapolis Roncalli, Indianapolis Cathedral and Evansville Memorial are becoming D1 Development factories for high end offensive and defensive linemen , and recruiters are taking notice.
Last year in our interview with 247Sports Midwest Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu, Allen stated that Indiana is becoming known across the country as a place to find talented and high potential offensive and defensive linemen.
Roncalli will hit the field with 3 D1 signees this fall, including the following prospects :
Trevor Lauck , 6-6,290 Iowa
Brady Neu 6-4, 275 Central Michigan
Luke Skartvedt 6-4, 285 Northern Illinois
Memorial on offense will line up behind 6-6, 290LB T Edward Hartig, who has committed to Miami OH. Memorial has several other prospects who will team up with Hartig to give the Tigers the most fearsome OL in the SIAC.
Cathedral is once again loaded with the following returnees:
Kendrick Gilbert DL 6-5, 250 Kentucky
Brennan Wooten TE 6-4, 225 Western Michigan
Patrick Kendall DL 6-4, 278 Army
So how are these private schools attracting and developing these dominant linemen?
Indiana's private football powers have always had a skill and depth advantage over their public counterparts.
Never before have we seen such a huge discrepency in overall interior line size as we are seeing today.
Perhaps the privates have figured out something in the weight room that the publics have yet to leverage.
They are born with great size and have athletic ability. And then the private schools recruit them to go to their school. There is your development. End of thread.

Check out Brownsburg's John Hart transfer comments in this story. Sure sounds like someone has been poaching his players.

He better be careful what he says. He does not have the greatest reputation among many on this topic..

These also count as a practice. Each team is limited at 12 practices throughout the summer I believe. Have seen lots of teams scrimmages multiple times on different occasions. Those are contributing to practice count. These also include camps at universities.

I know you stated “at this time” but is there a more specific time frame you are judging these programs off of? Because if you’re going off this past year, Carmel should probably be lower with the huge flop they had against Brownsburg in sectionals. Carmel also majorly disappointed the year before losing to a Ben Davis team in regionals that they had beat 31-9 a few weeks earlier. But if you’re going off, say the past 5 years, HSE doesn’t even belong on this list.
Not trying to throw a slight at you or anything like that, just want know your basis for how you decided these.
Just simply putting together a top list of programs. Nothing specific. Recent success, moving in right direction, great leadership, places people would want to play at and be involved with

Started thinking of the best overall all around football programs in the state AT THIS TIME. This can obviously be opinionated for some and doesn’t always have to reflect state championships. I tried to think of the best run programs regardless of class. I also kept private schools off of this this because I consider those programs to be run very differently (youth leagues, middle schools, etc.) Top 10 in my opinion:
Center Grove
Carmel
Westfield
New Pal
Gibson Southern
West Lafayette
HSE
Ben Davis
Valpo
Decatur Central
Honorable mentions- Brownsburg, Zionsville, Mt. Vernon, East Central, Lawrenceburg
Totally forgot about Merrillville. That would probably make the list or at least be honorable mention. Sorry about that Pirate fans.

Center Grove and Carmel's freshman and JV teams will have no problem scheduling games in the event they play a few out of state opponents.
You know that for a fact? I don’t see that.

Center Grove and Carmel as independents will now have balance to schedule quality in-state as well as out of state opponents. Out of state matchups featuring premier opponents is good for visibility.
Out of state opponents create scheduling nightmares for JV and Freshmen. I doubt those schools will want too much of that.

Carmel vs Westfield…oh wait.
CG vs Warren…oh wait
Carmel&CG vs MIC…nope
Carmel&CG vs HCC…nope.
forget the travel rule. Great matchups right around Indy metro area. And these schools don’t want it.

As far as I know only one transfer to NP and one to Cathedral. Neither have been cleared yet.
Would be interesting to know the reasons for transfers. Whether it’s a move from the family or just wanting to play elsewhere. I miss the days of kids playing in the community that they grew up in.

Conference Realignment Rumblings - The Topic That Never Goes Away

Definitely the next up and coming program. And would not be shocked to see them right there in the top 3 very soon. But, it is very known that Westfield did not want Cg or Carmel in that conference and fought hard to make sure it didn’t happen. Why doesn’t Westfield schedule Carmel in the regular season?
