  1. A score here by GS makes it an entirely different ball game. As poorly as they have played in the first half and they have the ability to be down by one possession.
  2. That’ll do it.
  3. Yet another WOW!
  4. 18 on Adams Central gives every kid hope they can be on a winning football team. Kid is everywhere. Can we revisit the “pound for pound” argument?
  5. Someone tail the officiating crew to church tomorrow morning, then we will have our answer.
  6. This one shaping up to be shootout.
  7. He was in…by a mile. Moot point however.
  8. Agree partially, especially at the 1A/2A levels. Some names are escaping me right now, but how often can you look back on state championship runs at this level and point to one guy that made THE difference on one or both sides of the ball simply because they were so much better than everyone on the field? 9. Couldn’t agree more. Who are the teams who are in the bottom half of their class in terms of enrollment, are public, have a free and reduced lunch percentage over the state average (roughly 50 percent), have a schedule strength in the top half of the state and have a winning record annually? There’s your answer.
  10. I’m gonna play devil’s advocate a bit here… The three areas of the state in which those three aforementioned schools play are annually weak as evidenced by their schedule strength on Sagarin. If memory serves me correctly, Linton just could not get over the hump in the tournament for so many years and the knock was their schedule strength. They then put Monrovia on the schedule and won the state title. I know you can only play the teams in front of you but you could also make the same argument about other teams on that list. Penn, Brownstown, East Central and West Lafayette stand out to me.
  11. Guess I was mistaken. Maybe it was the offense. Still think Zionsville has the ability to keep this interesting longer than many folks think.
  12. I’m not sure this is true.
  13. Who did New Pal beat with an enrollment of 3600+?
  14. This is going to be controversial but I’ll say CG. Punching above their weight in the MIC when you look at enrollment compared to the rest of the conference/6A.
  15. That’s pretty damn cool.
  16. I tend to agree. My “official” picks: Adams Central 30-24. Andrean 17-14. Gibson Southern 27-24. Mt. Vernon 31-21. Cathedral 30-17. Center Grove 34-17.
  17. Not sure how many more times I can doubt Northridge before I learn my lesson but I’m gonna do it one more time. Mt. Vernon wins this one 31-21.
  18. I have been flip flopping on this one, as well as the 3A game all week. Andrean has the best player on the field but Mater Dei has the best team on the field. I think this one is a classic. I will take Andrean 17-14.
  19. It will be interesting to see how these two teams react if the game is close as both have won every playoff game thus far in blowout fashion. I get the hint from a couple of Cathedral fans on here that despite the final scores, they’ve been less than impressive in some facets of the game (defensively). I am still going with the Irish in this one but as I have more time to think about it I think it’s going to be much closer than people anticipate. Gimme Cathedral 30-17.
  20. I’ve been very complimentary of your Irish in this thread.
  21. I think the score predictions on here are greatly exaggerated from an offensive standpoint. As I said before, Brebeuf hasn’t seen anyone like Allen but GS hasn’t seen anything like Brebeuf (other than the KY team). I am placing the O/U in the 50s.
  22. I am usually a big school guy but for some reason the 5A/6A games just don’t move the meter for me. I think it has to do with the geography. I think the other four games have the potential to be extremely close and could go either way. I’ll sleep on my predictions one more night.
