Athletes are bigger, faster and stronger than generations of past. Now, does that necessarily guarantee that teams of today would beat teams of the past? I am not willing to go THAT far though I lean that way.

I will add that even if this is true…the “NC to the semi state” prophecy is absurd.

James Banks…man…my biggest woulda, coulda, shoulda ever. That BD squad was legit but had a couple of nail biters. Third best BD team in school history in my opinion (1991 and 2017) and I mean that as no disrespect. @BDGiant93 has spoken on this topic numerous times but I forget his opinion.

Track and field is sorta weird when it comes to records…as there are “state meet records” which MUST be achieved at the state finals, and all-time “state records” which are unofficial but can be set at anytime. Mike Slabaugh is a professor from the Fort Wayne area and a track and field nut/guru. He keeps tabs on the sports better than anyone at the local (Indiana) level. Track and field records are being broken at an all-time rate but (hater alert) a large part in those record being broken is advancements in shoe technology and track surfaces. Likewise.
