North Harrison Scottsburg got a "big game of the week" and not Brownstown vs. Charlestown. Interesting.

Released a few new post for week 2. We have the our recent coverage of Paoli's loss at Boonville. The Southern Indiana Top 25 and the Big Games of Week 2. Please read at our website

Lawrenceburg is listed twice. Hanover Central is not in Southern Indiana.
Wouldn't really consider Martinsville or Triton Central southern Indiana, but I guess that's just my opinion. Great looking website and your coverage of our sport is awesome and very appreciated. Thank you for what you do.

North Harrison JV over Scottsburg JV 13-7
NH has done a great job in JV for a long time. We have played some great games against them over the years, I assume this season will be much of the same!

Ah ok. Thank you for the clarification. I didn’t realize it wasn’t JV vs JV
Yeah, sorry. I meant bigger as in more muscular. The kids in the past were bigger in an unathletic looking way.
Correct.

The line looks bigger/more athletic than I’m used to seeing from them. We’ll see how they do in the HHC.
My biggest concern with Jennings County is their health. They have a lot of kids playing two or more phases of the game. Can their bodies hold up for an entire season? I hope so but that almost feels like wishful thinking.
Not bigger at all. Used to JC would be "too big", respectfully.
But very much more athletic.
Especially DL. They play 3 relatively quick kids upfront.

Great night for football

1. They have an excellent staff. TJ Newton is a very good football coach. They have a core of young assts, that are all JC guys, and former players.
2. They have good athletes (hope their continued weight room work keeps developing them)
3. They have admin that want to be good at football.

They shouldn't have been allowed to advance that kick.

I never once mentioned 6A in the post you are referring to. I only said our schedule is tougher, and it is. There are scouts at nearly every game because of the level of kids we are playing. Look at our schedule and compare it to East's schedule. HHC is weak as water, so what if you are the top of that conference (and East isn't anymore)?
Southport is 6A but far from the level of competition of other schools on our schedule. Sounds like you are still stuck in the glory days. Napoleon Dynamite wants his steak back uncle Rico. But if you would like to go to the way back machine, I do believe the Bulldogs beat the East 2017 state championship team. 😄
Kate is awesome! She's helped my kid get back on track several times. She's helped countless others. North has always had excellent trainer's since we have been there.
I appreciate the kind words. She is most definitely the definition of my "better half."

Why was it necessary to make this decision in June or July? Who has been disadvantaged by the timing of the change? What would be different if they announced this decision the day before the ping pong balls dropped?
I mean... we watch film, and come up with game plans/ideas/everything before the season starts for sectional opponents...
This is not something the IHSAA should have done, and if so, it should have been done no later than the end of last school year, but it is the IHSAA.
Who has been disadvantaged by the timing? Umm BNL, pretty substantially.

Not sure if you guys saw this but it looks like the IHSAA’s late decision to move Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger down to 4A for this postseason is affecting the sectional assignments for several other 4A teams. Connersville will now get bumped to sectional 23 which bumps BNL over to sectional 24 with the Evansville area schools.
Absolutely ridiculous to change them midseason.

Saturday looks to be a little better temp wise for the lower level games.
Football has really fallen off in Columbus from where it was 5-6 years ago.
My wife is the North trainer and is 6 months pregnant. My reason for wanting the games out of the heat, as much as possible.

We could all sit here and whine about what time zone we should be in, and it won't do a diddly darn thing.
We could all post on a meaningless forum, too.

1) The time is the time. I don't have the time to complain about time zones. That's something above my pay grade.
2) I'd really be shocked if most games aren't pushed back an hour or so if it's going to continue to be extremely hot on Friday.
The time doesn't have to be the time, though.
You took just as much time telling us you didn't want to take the time to complain about time zones, as it does to complain about them. 😅

We started our game at 7ct. It was still d@mn hot, but we managed with only 15 athletes on our sideline.

WW JV beats Scottsburg 36-0.
Freshman QB Holden Russell has 3 TD passes and 1 TD run of 25 yds. Also a pick 6 by I believe Brennan Sears. Was #9 wasn't on roster but pretty sure I heard a parent yell his name. 😂😂. Overall looked good. Took a minute for Offense to get it going (might have been Holden Russell's first ever snap under center). Defense forced alot of turnovers. On to Clarksville week
oh wow.. you guys got to play your JV? huh... I was told it was too hot to play ours.

The only reason I can think of is you eliminate the price of buying hard-copy tickets. I am really not sure.
I know Seymour was paperless in the sectional for basketball. A couple of other places, too.
