  1. Perhaps...and I realize he was not the LA governor in 2021....but Kelly signed a 10 year deal worth $95M at tha time. I don't remember a governor then or for any other state approving football coaching hires. Did Braun approve Cignetti's recent contract revision??
  2. Gets worse for the Huskers..... https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/46820157/sources-nebraska-qb-dylan-raiola-broken-fibula-done-season
  3. I guess...make some sense. Does the University not have a Board of Trustees that a Governor would be working with/through? Im following you....looks like what FB16 shared, that may be the reason he is more involved.
  4. Perhaps you are right. If that is truly the case, then why aren't governors all over the country getting involved with all coaching decisions at ALL public universities in their states? The Gov of LA is getting involved with one school...LSU. Is it because he's a fan? Is it because the school is so significant in his state that he sees a political advantage? My guess it has less to do with money, and he will be pushing for a coach that isn't cheap. My guess its about getting the person he agrees with regardless of the cost. But hey, just my opinion. Reading this article, it does look like historically, Louisiana governors have been pretty involved with LSU football. Perhaps this says more about Louisiana and its biggest institution. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/louisiana-gov-jeff-landrys-takes-down-ad-scott-woodward-what-comes-next-lsu/
  5. More of allow the people hired into those positions do their jobs and focus on the issues that you were elected to tackle. It would seem there are enough issues with collegiate sports without adding governors of states selecting the universities they wish to play GM/AD.

  7. My point even if state money, politicians should stay clear and let the people hired to manage their universities and athletic departments. How many governors across the country do you see trying to jump in over university officials to hire coaches? Not in their lane. They certain can and most likely do share their opinions with the Board of Trustees. And it may be influential in some cases. But it should remain behind the scenes. I’d hope Gov of La has bigger fish to fry for his people that fall in line with his actual job description.
  8. Good to see Austin Booker make an appearance after healing from a knee injury. The former Center Grove star had a sack that caused a fumble.
  9. Disagree. That is why universities have Boards. He can certainly call the president of the Board and voice his/her concern and probably carries weight. But they don’t have a direct role in hiring and firing university staffs, nor should they be commenting on social media that university staffs have no role in hiring their own coaches.
  10. Coach, I didn’t see much of this game other than some highlights, but Boilers must have battled. Seeing some promise??? Final score got my attention, especially on the road in The Big House.
  11. I’m not sure to the extent of Indiana’s depth, but they didn’t have some top performers at OL, LB and WR, yet they kept rolling. Love how they committed to the run, especially in the 2nd half.
  12. I’m not even sure Governors should fire university presidents. That’s the role of the Board of Trustees. Sure they can have an opinion which certainly counts, but best kept behind closed doors. As you stated, governors should stay in their lane.
  13. Hoosiers 55-10. IU out rushed MD 367 - 37
  14. I'm not sure...can't watch. I stream on YouTube TV and because Disney/Google can't come to agreement, currently no ABC, ESPN and Disney. Such a crock. While not a fan of either, I blame Disney more. Since they own ESPN, Hulu, and now Fubo TV, I believe the motive on their end is to get people to leave YouTube TV for one of their apps. Nothing like the rich getting richer. Ulimately, they will come to agreement, and Google will pass on the additional costs to their consumer.
  15. You mean the official NCAA press release entitled "Overwhelming Evidence Shows Impermissible Scouting Scheme in Michigan Football Program" that has been presented to you before and ignored? I actually think you believe your own fodder...... https://www.ncaa.org/news/2025/8/15/media-center-overwhelming-evidence-shows-impermissible-scouting-scheme-in-michigan-football-program.aspx
  16. what program wouldn't want this from their head coach??
  17. No...just challenging the constant fodder you feed on this forum. You have this belief you can say anything without challenge. Just calling out total and complete BS. And when you get called out for it, you try to throw out a label on someone. You want it to stop...stop posting pure crap.
  18. no goose chase dimwit...simple youtube search...found very easy. I understand calling you out for BS is frustrating for you. Just calling you out for the typical hypocrisy we've come to expect. The University was fined for Harbaugh's sideline antics....by anyone other than you, that's the definition of coaching clown behavior.
  19. Just like Doc Holiday in Tombstone....your hyprocrisy knows no bounds.....
  20. If they do, they will earn it honestly....no scandals required.
  21. Not a new IU fan by any stretch. Have attended games at Memorial Stadium for decades. But, I concede you would be an expert to understanding brashness. I understand change is difficult....hang in there. Keep the excuses coming.
  22. 3 point win..."took care of".....Yet lost to the Indiana team....on their way to a 7th place finish in 2024. Things are looking up this year for the Wolverines....currently 5th place. Congrats! Guess another rebuilding year. Ever notice Ohio State doesn't seem to have rebuilding years? At least Michigan has earned those Big 10 places honestly over the past couple of seasons...at least I think so......
  23. Congratulations on being a fan celebrating a big win amongst a 7-5 regular season and 7th place in the conference.
  24. He served his 5 years of obligatory service in the Marine Corp following his graduation from the Naval Academy in 2016. ("retired" in 2022) That is what makes this most disappointing after attending the Naval Academy and living to a honor code. So much for the code of not lying, cheating or stealing. https://www.usna.edu/About/honorconcept.php
  25. Warren may not win ROY, but dang glad your Bears passed on him!!
