Russ Mann OUT at BD After Three Seasons…
Bash Riprock replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Stinky is back!!! What's your thoughts/insights about this move??? Without a doubt, you are our BD expert!! I realize this may be sensitive, so I ask in a way to protect those impacted..... -
For Temp….

I think Jones has to take some ownership. He missed a couple of 3rd down throws that were more than makeable for a NFL QB. He’s the QB…goes with the position. Maybe Steichen put too much faith in the passing game.

6A Tournament: OFFICIAL Thread

So rain doesn’t benefit the receiver, but it benefits the DB who made the play?? Carroll had a great season. Just ran into a team that played a little better on that night. Celebrate a regional champ in 6A. No easy accomplishment!! Great season!! -
One of my best pals, a Twin Cities resident and huge Vikes fan, sent me a text last night comparing JJ's progress at this stage of his career to Buffalo's Josh Allen at the same juncture of his career....very similar results. But my buddy realistically added...."I can only dream"........

Because the Colts D was constantly on the field. The announcers mentioned in OT, KC offense had run 82 plays...and they added more. The D had to be more than gassed. The D set up the first score for the Colts. Bottom line, had the Colts offense did anything at all in the 4th quarter, ate some clock and took some pressure off their D, they would have won the game. They hung their D brothers out to dry. Questionable play calling and certainly poor execution by the O. To simply look at stats at games end does not tell the story.

the ball "slipped" through a receiver's hands, into a DB's hands"? The ball is wet for one and not the other? Carroll gives up a fumble. Games boil down to execution....who makes less mistakes, who executes the game plan. You make it sound like Carroll gave up the game....perhaps. Perhaps they simple were outexecuted. Time to acknowledge the victor...shake hands and hope for another day. -
Regardless of your allegiance…pretty funny

Coach….so far, I’m 2 for 2….

Sorry, but another homer shoutout for Center Grove’s own Caden Curry. Awesome senior day leading his team in tackles with 2 QB sacks and a fumble recovery. Leads team in QB pressures this season. Young man stuck it out and what a senior season.

ND is rolling right now. Kind of smart playing your toughest 2 games beginning of the season. Let’s be honest, A&M had to make incredible plays to beat ND. I was very suspect early about ND’s defense. But they have seemed to really improve as the season progressed.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, Carroll will definitely outhit Westfield....she's no one to be messed with.... -
No...it was Peyton vs Ben. That was the game that Pittsburgh pretty much dominated, but Colts hung in....I was sitting on the end of the field when Bettis fumbled near the goalline and football picked up by Colts cornerback Nick Harper (playing with injury due to being stabbed in the knee area by his wife) and he had one man to juke (Ben) and couldn't do it. Should have been an easy scoop and score. Pittsburgh won 21-18 as Vanderjagt badly missed a 47 yd FG attempt w/21 secs left. Still nightmares....The Colts were never in synch during the game...always playing from behind...yet still had a chance if not for those 2 plays. https://www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs05/news/story?id=2293484 Harper, who injured his right knee in the first half of Sunday's game, came within moments of scoring the winning touchdown for the Colts in the fourth quarter. He picked up Jerome Bettis' goal-line fumble with 21 seconds remaining and looked headed for the highly improbable score, but Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger tumbled, reached out a hand and made a saving tackle at the Indy 42.

Thanks...agree with you 100% On paper, BB is the overall deeper team and should be a significant favorite. I think we are looking at BB vs Westfield for the 2nd time this season in the 6A final. -
i just have flashbacks of being in the old RCA Dome, watching the #1 seed Colts go down to wildcard team Pittsburgh, who ended up winning the Super Bowl. I believe that was the year the Colts were like 15-0 and sat players to rest, blowing their undefeated regular season. They then got a 2nd week of rest being the #1 seeded team with a bye. They promptly came out in the playoff game, well rested and healed up....and played like crap, losing a close game. Ugh!!

There it is coach....Mendoza needs to come back for his senior year and complete his MBA!!!! In all seriousness, he projects only 3 QB's in the first round. As you said earlier, not a deep draft for QB's.
-
I can absolutely beat that time when getting from my kitchen chair to the refigerator. Like a crocodile, incredible speed over a very short distance!
-
Always a debate of getting a bye (and resting) is worth the cobwebs that can form when not playing. Coach, I wonder if the NFL has data about the benefit of being top seeds and getting byes? Not saying that is an apple to apple comparison.

I wouldn't say all positions. Finch at DE and Thomas at RB for Warren I believe are the most talented at those positions...by a longshot. Overall team, I agree with you. -
you make some solid points in your last 2 posts. (see, I can agree) The game would take on much more significance if OSU already had a loss during the season. But you are right...a blemish now, unless a blowout, would not drop them out of the top 4. (certainly not out of the playoffs) Indiana on the other hand being a newcomer, does not have OSU's grace. If they are upset by PeeEww, then they would drop certainly out of the top 4 and I believe would be on the road in the playoffs, assuming they remain. Rivalry games used to be awesome at the end of the season...but perhaps it is time to move them earlier in the season, if you really want each team to give out their best. Certainly top teams already in the playoffs.
