  1. Because that is the way the NFL deliberately changed the game. I miss the old days when a solid QB was enough. Now, its becoming more and more like 7 on 7. And with that formula, of course the QB is the most important position. But does the most important position ALWAYS mean most valuable player? Would Jones be nearly as effective without JT?
  2. Time to start pushing the lack of inclusion agenda!!!!
  3. you are correct...according to ESPN, LSU ranked #3; ND 30th However, in 2024 ND was #4, LSU 14th
  4. Just kidding about TA....was having fun. But, the man did recruit Omar Cooper....and IU today must be incredibly grateful.
  5. I can't see Penn State going anywhere near him. They'd be way better off with a rising, younger coach. They could bring back this "superstar" 🤪
  6. They could....they have some talent. And they are rolling. I do think their QB (incredible athlete) can be rattled. Also, defensivelty, they don't "wow" me. Ranked 23rd currently for Team D by the NCAA stats. Give up on avg 317 yds/game and over 5 yds/play. I know that's been against some strong competition. But its over 100 yds/game more than OSU. https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/22
  7. Coach, I think the Vikes, Pack (one), Browns, Steelers, and 49ers are reasonable expectations to take home dubs.
  8. According to ESPN, IU's strenth of schedule (SOS) is very similar to Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Michigan, USC. Their SOS is stronger than Ohio State, Texas Tech, Miami, Utah, Georgia Tech. Old Dominion, one of those cupcakes as you call them, actually has a much better football power index currently than Northern Illinois had at the end of last year....the same team that took down the Irish. There is no doubt that Notre Dame started off the year with 2 outstanding programs...but their SOS levels out during year as the quality of most of their opponents were "meh". That is why their overall SOS is very similar to IU. I am not picking on Notre Dame...I have no problem with their schedule. I do get frustated when Finebaum and some others poke at IU's schedule, when their SOS is pretty much the same as the programs I mentioned above, that doesn't seem to get the same finger point. I think this is mainly because they are "the new kids on the block".
  9. Purdue, Arkansas, NC State, Boston College, Navy, Pitt, Syracuse, Stanford All good/solid programs....but would not call any of them a recent powerhouse.
  10. Just saying if you call Kennesaw State a cupcake with their current FPI, then you must call NIU a cupcake last year. That would mean ND lost to a cupcake in 2024.
  11. No disagreement here...just showing that according to a couple of college football indexes for SOS, IU and ND were pretty similar.
  12. BTW. I did a little more digging. Northern Illinois ended up the 2024 season with a ESPN Football Power Index (FPI) of 86. Kennesaw State this year is 93. Not a huge difference. We all know what happened in the NIU vs ND game last year. Northern Illinois FPI this year is 124.
  13. Dang Coach N.....your Bears got Daboll canned..... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46918387/brian-daboll-giants-coach-bears-loss
  14. I think the CG and Warren game with be a tough one. Warren should be well rested, winning their sectional by a combined score of 100-7.
  15. Booker told me he is working hard on developing his pass coverage skills...... 😉
  16. I was simply pointing out you left Oregon off the list. I remember seeing IU's schedule in the off-season, hoping they would get 1 of the Oregon, Iowa, and Penn State road games. Never dreamed they would get all 3. While I agree IU scheduled some easy wins, so does other schools. Ole Miss this week played The Citadel. Yet, I didn't hear a negative word. When I look at the ESPN College Football Power Index, I think Indiana gets the SOS thrown around unfairly. IU's is very comparable to ND, Ole Miss, Michigan, etc. Much better than the ACC, and overall SEC is tougher. (see below) https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi/_/view/resume This particular rating (late October) had Indiana at 24 and Notre Dame at 32. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/cfb/college-football-strength-of-schedule-2025/ Poor Purdue....now they play a tough schedule.......BTW, Kennesaw State is 7-2 and leads Conference USA with a 5-0 record. 😉
  17. I’m a long time married man….been busted many times.
  18. Awesome to see Center Grove’s Austin Booker back and contributing from the DL for the Bears. 4 tackles, 3 solo.
  19. Fair enough…..I prefer “seasoned”
  20. I think you left out Oregon. Also at the time IU played Illinois, the Illini were ranked 9th.
  21. That's very cool. When I lived out in the DC area, saw a few Navy games at the Navy Marine Corp stadium including the Air Force game. Did see ND and Navy play the year ND won the natty with Holtz, but it was at the old Baltimore Memorial Stadium.
  22. Agree about passing on chip shot FG's for sure points. Good eyes on the Warren block that sprung JT for the winning TD. Warren was lined up as a FB and led the way. Warren grades well as a blocker and he is getting better and better. Hope you find your phone...no luck with the Find my Phone app?
  23. Not a bad day for JT and Tyler Warren today…..
  24. During the Brady Quinn era, saw ND do the same with Army. Very cool.
