Pacers were gods to me as a young kid. Neto was at my house one time-he had to duck through doorways. McGinnis and Doc Erving were the stars of stars in the ABA, and the ABA had a lot of top players.

George “Iceman” Gervin, Artis Gilmore, Moses Malone, David Thompson, etc. Great league!!

Incidentally, little known fact. Wannstedt was the model for the bust outside the International Bad Mustache Hall of Fame.

Bob, your comment about the "stache" made me think about this classic musical.....

Be truthful....were people stating the Michigan team sucks or stating their head coach was a two time cheater during the 2023 season?  Those aren't one in the same....can't blame the kids for the actions of their head coach and his assembled team....some who were let go this season.

Those aren’t wins, simply the combined final scores of last year’s JV contests involving said teams.

Gotcha...I thought you were going back in time over a certain period.

I didn't add them up either.  CG had some youth playing varsity this year as well, that impacted the JV squad.  But they will absolutely need to reload at some critical positions.

I mean, it means something, we can disagree on how significant it is I guess.

CG’s sustained success speaks for itself and every other team in the MIC has had at least 1 rebuilding year whereas CG hasn’t.

CG has not had a losing season since 2005…I know, you already knew that.

I meant I don’t count wins…Didn’t have a clue until you provided the data.

A combined 99-16 against BD/Warren at the JV level and 191-51 over the entire MIC huh?

Truly don't count.  I go back so far both at youth and high school levels and know there have been so many classic matchups over the years.  Nothing but tons of respect for BD, Warren, Lawrence, etc. programs.  I just hope we all get back to playing each other in the regular season again. (I mean varsity as we all play each other at every other level)

Anybody have JV/freshmen records for the usual 6A favorites at their disposal?

Center Grove JV 8-1 with their lone loss to Louisville Trinity

    Center Grove Frosh 9-0

After I sent, realized Grover responded...so I attached links to schedules with results

Interesting that a small faction of the ESPN (who is in bed with the SEC) slappies are actually not toeing the company line and speaking their mind about this...

I agree...the only couple ESPN folks that I have noticed that are outspoken against how FSU was handled is Greenberg and Booger....the latter surprised me a little given his SEC allegiance

Then we get to play inside the indoor facility and playing a catholic school from Holland MI, there was Tiller, Brian Rock, and like 8 other Purdue coaches all gathered watching this dude from Holland MI throw 40 yard deep corner routes on the dime back pylon, over and over and over, needless to say, we could not defend that.....that QB....Kirk Cousins.

Sorry for the hi-jack Coach, but have you or anyone else watched Quarterbacks on Netflix? Kirk Cousins is one of the 3 QB's featured and I became a big fan of his after watching.  Not only a talented, hard-working professional, but seems like an incredible husband, father and overall human being.  His acceptance speech after receiving the Bart Starr award at the most recent Super Bowl was outstanding.

    More Cherry's? Jeez

LOL...don't believe they are QB's.  Soph brother was an excellent contributor on the Dline (DE) this past varsity season.  Listed at 6'4" 235lbs and is an outstanding baseball player as well.  Athletic and could see him play at either DE or TE in the future.  Youngest brother (I believe) was a standout on the Junior Trojan football team that claimed another IEFA championship.

Would add that I don't believe Cherry is a great fit for the type of offense Cignetti and staff run. Lots of RPO and need QB with some good mobility. I'd think Cherry would be a great fit in Jeff Brohm's offense down at Louisville but realize going from Duke to Louisville is a significant demotion on the academic side of things which I'm sure played a huge role in him ending up at Duke in the first place.

Did Cherry end up de-committing? I know there was speculation with the coaching change but hadn't heard. Either way, he has a bright future ahead. O'Neil too.

Good thoughts...don't disagree with your points.  I also agree with Cherry and your Duke comments. He's an outstanding student.  I don't believe he has decommitted...guessing waiting to see what transpires.  I did see where the Duke starting QB for most of the year (injury) entered the portal and keep reading about him at ND.  I am not sure of their position depth.  I have heard that Cherry is receiving a fair amount of contacts now from other schools.  (as O'Neil)

Will be interesting to see what transpires for these 2 excellent young men and athletes.  As you stated, they both have bright futures.  Was a true joy watching them play during their high school careers.  Cherry has 2 brothers following him and both are excellent athletes.
