  1. Wait a minute…didn’t Carmel drop Trojan sports (oops, I mean football) because of the poor culture Center Grove??? Something just isn’t adding up….
  2. Wonder who ended up making 53 man rosters. Center Grove’s Russ Yeast made the Rams for the 2nd straight year. He earned a start end of last season at the safety spot.
  3. nice analysis of Carson's strength and speed.... https://www.on3.com/college/ucla-bruins/news/bruce-feldman-carson-steele-blew-ucla-away-with-lower-body-strength-weight-room-transfer-ball-state/ “He’s not the biggest back in the running back room,” Feldman told Staples. “They have two other guys who are actually bigger. But he is super strong. A 450-pound bench guy. Squats almost 700 pounds. He’s explosive. Vertical jumps 35 inches, hits 21 on the GPS and there’s some great stories about him when he first transferred there. He was blowing people away in the weight room with what he could do and just how physically strong especially his lower body is. “Chip Kelly loves this guy and I think he was like 95th on the freaks list last year. He’s in the top 25 now and he’s a good fit for what they want to do. They wanna be physical. He’s a hammer. Don’t let the beach look of his headshot fool you.” Steele is coming off of a strong sophomore campaign that helped him to become a hot commodity in the transfer portal. He ranked as the No. 1 running back in On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings, and Feldman wrote that UCLA was “elated” to land him not only for his strength, but his speed as well. “He made the Freaks List last year before having a monster season for Ball State, rushing for 1,556 yards,” Feldman wrote. “Not bad for a guy who only had one FBS scholarship offer. The Bruins were elated to get him in the transfer portal. …His wheels have been impressive too, clocking 20.96 MPH and vertical-jumping 35 inches.”
  4. That's hard to say....CG has played 2 games against teams nationally ranked #31 or better so far this season. Quality of competition will continue with Louisville Trinity next, followed by Cincy Moeller. Against that level of competition, they will take what's given. That being said, CG is bringing new backs into the stable this year, developing Oline, and they have a fantastic D1 QB with nice targets. Coach Moore and Coach Siderewicz (2 Indiana Football Hall of Famers) will use what is needed to get it done. Is this the year they run to set up the pass?...perhaps. If teams stack the box, my guess is that the ball will be in the air. I am not yet going to agree they have a one dimensional offense.
  5. to your point, things have fallen for Navy the last three seasons. 2019, they were 11-2. 2020-22, they won 11 total games. Coach Freemen did indicate it was easier to prepare for Navy's offensive attack first game of the year vs in the middle of the season. Definitely had more time to prepare. Having an excellent QB doesn't hurt either......
  6. Guess Navy got in the last word…..
  7. Understand Christian Brothers is very good. Just not used to see Carmel getting 55 put on them regardless of the opponent.
  8. Very quality win for the Trojans last night over an outstanding opponent and Tennessee's best. Next week Trinity, followed by Moeller. The LC game later this season will be another doozy. https://www.wthr.com/article/sports/high-school/hs-football/operation-football-opfb-oakland-tennessee-at-center-grove/531-27726dff-e36e-48d5-8c80-bfd1923765ab Did I read the scores correctly...Carmel got double nickels dropped on them?? They played an outstanding opponent, but wow....such a shame.....😉
  9. No flag, no penalty.
  10. Wasting your breath Bob....99.9% of us knew what you meant.
  11. You and I have very different reading comprehension skills..... I don't read anything like that...Bob was talking about a series based on history....and he has explained that history before of what makes the ND vs Navy game so special. Very cool they are opening up in Dublin....guessing won't be too many open seats.
  12. not disagreeing....but I guess I am old school....I sure miss the days of dominant backs such as Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Franco Harris, Larry Csonka, John Riggins, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, Emmitt Smith, Earl Campbell, Edgerrin James, Marcus Allen, OJ Simpson, Tony Dorsett, etc.
  13. Agree on all accounts. Taylor had to see that Barkley did not get a long term deal. During my younger years, the RB was the key feature player along with the QB on offense. That is changed with the NFL protecting the QB setting up a much more passing game...making the QB and WR, in some cases TE the featured players. I miss much of the old game....its funny, the only time you hear much about the importance of running the ball is the playoffs. With the salary cap, saving $$ on the running back allows cash to be used on other needs. It is just how it is....at least for the time being.
  14. Games this even on paper may come down to conditioning, playing in this heat.....
  15. tough way for a new guys on CG Dline to get experience...... What doesn't kill you......
  16. they looked impressive from the highlights I saw. I think the top 10 of 6A can bring it week to week.....
  17. No feeling hurt buddy...don't mistake chuckling for hurt feelings. You should know better than assuming....
  18. LOL...my ears are still hurting with you bellowing out that fight song!!! I could hear it all the way down here in the Indy metro area!!
  19. Gosh, since you put it that way.....BD is the champs of week 1. Congrats to the Giants.
  20. It’s sad that you find it sad….😆
  21. I am going to suggest we play out the entire season and see where it all falls out......
  22. I meant my comments as an ultimate compliment to St. Ed's. What an excellent looking football team. I am sure they will improve as the season progresses and playing the Trojans will benefit them as well. Coach Moore plays for season's end. I am confident many of the young guys will develop. I used to think the gauntlet of Warren, Carmel and BD in the first 4 games of the season couldn't be more difficult and developmental for a team...until this season! Wow, what an opening schedule for the Trojans!
  23. Pretty tall order for CG to take on a loaded St. Edward's team....3 OL committed to Ohio State and Michigan respectively against new DL starters and a new secondary. Games like this will make the Trojans stronger in the long run. Would have been fun to watch this game with the Trojan team of 3 years ago.....
  24. This gets more interesting.....if true, feels a little like extortion. Bob, don't mean to use the wrong legal term. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38199104/tuohy-family-disputes-michael-oher-claims-alleges-shakedown-blind-side-subject The Tennessee family accused by retired NFL star Michael Oher of tricking him into a conservatorship and taking all the proceeds from a blockbuster film about his life responded to the allegations Tuesday by claiming that Oher threatened to go public with his story if they did not pay him $15 million. Attorney Martin Singer issued a statement on the Tuohys' behalf that called Oher's claims "outlandish" and said "the idea that the family ever sought to profit off Mr. Oher is not only offensive, it is transparently ridiculous." "In reality, the Tuohys opened their home to Mr. Oher, offered him structure, support and, most of all, unconditional love," Singer's statement said. "They have consistently treated him like a son and one of their three children. His response was to threaten them, including saying that he would plant a negative story about them in the press unless they paid him $15 million." Additionally, not sure about the accuracy of this source.... https://people.com/tuohy-family-has-not-received-millions-from-the-blind-side-source-7644002 A source close to the film tells PEOPLE the Tuohys have received approximately $700,000 total in rights, payments and profits, which was intended to be divided between the family members — Sean, Leigh Anne, their two biological children and Oher. "The Tuohys have not received millions of dollars from the movie,” says the source. "They have not even received $1 million from the movie.”Marty Singer, an attorney who is representing the Tuohy family, flatly rejected Oher’s claims. “When Michael Lewis, a friend of Sean’s since childhood, was approached about turning his book on Mr. Oher and the Tuohys into a movie about their family, his agents negotiated a deal where they received a small advance from the production company and a tiny percentage of net profits. They insisted that any money received be divided equally. And they have made good on that pledge,” said Singer in a statement shared with PEOPLE. Singer's statement continued: “The evidence – documented in profit participation checks and studio accounting statements – is clear: over the years, the Tuohys have given Mr. Oher an equal cut of every penny received from The Blind Side.” In his petition, Oher also claims he unknowingly authorized the couple to be his conservators in 2004 , “despite the fact that he was over 18 years of age and had no diagnosed physical or psychological disabilities.”
