  1. LOL. Are you dragging up the old Casey Whitten allegations from the late 80's? There are very few people on the GID who were even alive when that was the buzz.
  2. I doubt there were many experienced candidates interested. Having 4 coaches in a span of 6 years with a precipitous W/L drop-off the last 2 seasons doesn't paint a picture of a healthy program.
  3. Hearing our (Memorial) track coach is the new football coach at Central.
  4. 6-5 last year. Met their much-publicized goal. Maybe they need to set the bar higher...
  5. Great point. Hey, by the way, do you know what happened to Herman Byers Ghost on twitter? He was a great follow.
  6. Oh, don't worry, there is no bigger wagon than a Reitz football bandwagon.
  7. I think the gap in the standings last year was a bit misleading. I didn't think Reitz was head and shoulders above Memorial or MD. Reitz will be tough to beat in the SIAC this year though. They should be better and the other top tier programs may fall back a bit. Nevertheless, if I were a gambling man, I would still bet on East Central in the Regional. And Screagle is no troll. LOL
  8. Maybe Linton just wants to get beat by a Catholic school other than Mater Dei for a change?
  9. Holy smokes. This guy is lucky he hasn't killed someone.
  10. I knew Rupp decided he didn't have time right before last season and Cross stepped in, but I wasn't sure if it was a permanent thing or not. Cross is a great OL coach. I don't much about the relationship either.
  11. Do any Tiger fans think AZ would be a candidate to replace his brother-in-law (Chad Rupp) as OC at Memorial?
  12. The problem at Central is a coach who tries to instill discipline and accountability has no chance.
  13. The big question to me is whether he will still play travel baseball all summer.
  14. No, they still don't offer athletic scholarships.
  15. Soccer people are desperate for US men's soccer to be competitive world wide, which I personally doubt it will ever be. US pro soccer has decent followings, but the question in my mind is will it be sustainable. I think this particular project is a bit too ambitious.
  16. Eh, I don't know, man. I didn't give it a Warren Commission type of analysis, but it looks to me like there was plenty of room for coach to lead his team off the court and stay out of the students.
  17. I know nothing about this CG - Carmel situation, but I personally don't believe the IHSAA has any business involving itself in scheduling. Sounds as though this might be a great opportunity for CG to look to IL, KY and OH teams.
