I have not heard anything yet, but with the oppressive heat forecasted for this week, I suspect we might see JV, frosh and MS games get canceled and the start times for Friday pushed back. Ironically, the exact same thing happened last year in Wk. 2.

Memorial @ Jasper - Memorial 24-22. Going with my heart. This always such a tough Wk. 1 match-up for us. Castle @ North - Castle 28-13. I think Castle will win with McCool. Lincoln @ Bosse - Lincoln 13-0. Wagner did it all last year. Is there anyone who can fill that chasm for Bosse? Mater Dei @ Central - MD 27-8. Central will be improved, but I expect MD will be ready after what was reported as a rough scrimmage with Reitz. Harrison @ Reitz - Reitz 49 - 0. Running clock.

It would be nice to get some rain before tomorrow night to compact the fill.

I guess that's the risk you run when you live on a public course. We had one here sold to the school corp and now part of it is prairie. That doesn't change the fact that Irsay supports many, many causes very generously. Not the least of which is IHSAA football.

Actually, deep tournament runs generate very little financial return. The IHSAA gets more than the lion's share of the revenue at the Regional, Semi-State and State levels.

I'm told the scrimmage with Memorial is scheduled for there Friday night, so I guess it will be done by then.

In my mind, our big rivalries are with Castle, Jasper and MD. I think he replaced MD with Reitz purely based on what happened last year in the tournament. Beautiful night. Huge crowd. I was selling athletic passes all night and it was steady. Never got to see even 1 play...
