  1. Yep, I heard Castle looked pretty solid. McCool is likely going to be the best RB in the SIAC. BTW, I didn't take a picture last night but it appears Enlow is pretty much done. The new turf looks great.
  2. The best venue for HS football in Evansville is taking shape...
  3. Enlow is looking good. Doing some roof work. The rubber is pretty much down.
  4. Not sure. We don't ever put too much stock into 7 on 7 or deviate from our offense. It's a time to simply compete against good athletes.
  5. Yep, I heard last night we went 1-3. Lost big to Northwood, beat HH by a few scores, lost a close one to Chatard, and then lost to Brebeuf by 3 in the playoff round.
  6. Do you have any link to the results of the 7 on 7? I can't find it anywhere.
  7. Enlow is coming right along!
  8. The old turf at Enlow is gone and the new turf is being installed.
  9. I drove past the stadium last Saturday after the baseball game got rained out. The stadium looks great. They could use a larger visitor's are, but overall it will be a great additional to Jasper's already incredible athletic facilities. And BTW, during the radio broadcast of the regional baseball game on Monday, the announcer said Jasper's Ruxer Field is going artificial turf for next year?? Is that true? That really surprises me because that field has always been darn near pristine.
  10. With 68 sectional titles in one class basketball, Lincoln was a long-time beneficiary of a very weak sectional. They were the literal big fish in a very small pond with North Knox, South Knox, Sullivan and Rivet. Things have changed since the advent of multi-class basketball - only 4 titles since 1997.
  11. The IHSAA is not equipped to handle any additional oversight / enforcement of more rules. Personally, I don't see HS NIL as having anywhere near the earth-shattering impact as its had in college athletics because there just isn't the revenue. The NCAA & colleges have made millions off athletes, but that isn't the case in HS athletics as most schools & programs are lucky to break even.
  12. Maybe we won't have to haul locker room fans as part of the travel equipment anymore. 😃
  13. Very nice! Can't wait to see it in person come August.
  14. According to Harrell's website, Jasper was something like 13-4 (or close to that on a quick skim) against MC in the last 20 years or so. Reitz may have a winning record against Jasper, but they aren't a small school and haven't played all that many times. BTW, good to see you back on the GID..
  15. Not many schools or coaches have winning records against Jasper, especially smaller schools.
  16. That is pretty impressive
  17. Nice article from Kyle Sokeland about the SIAC expansion 5 years ago... https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/05/21/a-look-at-sw-indiana-athletics-five-years-after-conference-realignment/73726204007/
  18. Sorry. I didn't see that you had posted Kyle's article from today...
  19. They also picked up MD by moving to SIAC, so the "new" good gates would be MD, Castle and Reitz (but I honestly don't know how well Reitz fans travel to Jasper). No question Bosse, Harrison and Central would be much less gate than Wash, BV & Mt. V. Bosse did have some decent crowds last year being that they were competitive. Coincidently, Kyle Sokeland has an article on the 5th anniversary of the SIAC expansion in today's Courier. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/05/21/a-look-at-sw-indiana-athletics-five-years-after-conference-realignment/73726204007/
  20. Looking back at Harrell's site, it appears HH played rotated through V. Lincoln, MD and Mt. Vernon as non-PAC opponents for a number of years. If the the darn SIAC would go to divisions, it could create a great opportunity for an annual PAC-SIAC "showdown" type of event. That would be a whole lot of fun.
  21. I think there were a couple of reasons, one of which was the PAC did not have specific weeks set aside for non-conference games like the SIAC (which was Wks 1 & 2), so it made things tough. If the PAC had gone to a similar Wks 1 & 2 for non-conf games, I suspect there would have been far more games between the conferences.
  22. None of the original PAC schools (HH, GS, SR) ever really seemed to have much interest in SIAC schools when they had the chance, although HH and SR both played Jasper.
  23. I don't have a problem with anything Coach W said. I just thought it was amusing.
  24. Gosh, sure doesn't seem Coach is happy to see us again. Wants SIAC to go to divisions so HH can get some better competition, just not in November..
  25. I don't think this behind the paywall.... Here is a link to the Courier article today, which includes a nice little highlight reel of the Tigers W over undefeated Reitz in the Sectional championship last November too. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/05/09/evansville-bosse-baseball-field-to-host-castle-vs-memorial-high-school-football-game/73555962007/
