    Ev. Memorial at Cathedral in 1992 3A South Semi-State at Arlington. Field was nothing but slushy frozen mud and a sleet/snow mix was blowing at 20+ mph. Punts into the wind almost went backwards. By far the coldest I have ever been in my life.

    Yep, no meetings between the Miners and Tigers. Memorial has played Cathedral 11 times ('25, '26, '40, '42, '45, '52-'55, '91 & '92). The Irish hold a 8-3 advantage. I can't believe it has been 30 years since the 1992 semi-state game at Arlington. It was a bit chilly that night and the mud was covered by a thin layer of ice.

    I thought during the tournament the IHSAA requires the host school to maintain neutrality. Shouldn't that mean cannons, whistles, bells, smoke, fireworks and other noisemakers and "special effects" be disallowed? What is the rule and who is responsible for enforcing it?

    Changing the playing surface at Lucas Oil (if even possible) could have some negative implications for Indiana HS football...

    I suspect a couple of players may not make it through Practice #1. There's only one way for Coach Goebel and Coach Hurley, or hit the highway..

    LOL. I would pay just to watch Goebel or Hurley run a week's worth of practices with that SIAC team.

    This has been discussed before on GID. It sounds like a great idea and a wonderful way to raise money for charity just before the holidays, but when you start drilling down on the details its starts getting real complicated.

    I agree that our crowd was not up to par. It's a shame because our kids played with a lot of heart and battled a clearly superior opponent for 48 mins.

    I agree. EC is a helluva football team and Roncalli was lucky to get the W the first time around.
