Memorial is at Central. Big trap game for the Tigers. Reitz will have its eyes opened after 2 wins against bottom tier teams. Bosse might just give Castle a game. MD and North will roll.

I would rather our school keep tickets at $5 so young families can attend the game each week. The more they attend the games, the more they feel part of the HS community, and the more likely it is they decide to make the sacrifice to pay tuition when it comes time to decide between free or not free education.

And with the SIAC and SAC, its probably Wk. 11..

Ev. Memorial had a pretty good crowd. Our team lost but Delta will probably do okay..

Down here in the SIAC it would be Mater Dei at Castle. Winner will sit on atop conferences with Jasper at 2-0. Second best would be North at Memorial. Loser goes to 0-2 and will have dreams of conference title shattered.

Roncalli beat us in semi-state in 1985 too. One of the few schools to have beaten us in every matchup.

There is no CYO in Evansville. Down here, the only HS that has a league with teams affiliated with feeder school is Memorial. The feeders often pair up to get enough numbers since so many kids play the devil's games (soccer and fall ball). Central, North, GS, HH and Castle all have youth leagues (not necessarily run by the HS, but with varying degrees of input from the HS coach). Most of the MD and Reitz younglings play in a westside league. There is also a league on the eastside. Our teams play against some of the other leagues from time to time to get some variety in the scheduling. I know nothing about the number of teams or roster sizes in those leagues though.

Ev. Memorial's record at state (2 of 5) would be far better if the IHSAA had adopted a mandatory 1 class bump up for any school with "West" or "Lafayette" in the name.

I believe the team tournament is run by the Ind. HS wrestling coaches association and is based on enrollment, but MD opted to go into the highest class. I don't think that tournament is an "all-in" thing. It has been a few years since I was involved in the HS wrestling program so I may be wrong.

812 Hoops reported that Central picked up a nice transfer from Westfield. He looked pretty-well put together from the limited highlights I saw.

I wouldn't characterize any of the comments from our tenacious TigerFan (or my questions) as griping about the SF, but you're asking for a voluntary bump for all p/p schools, regardless of the whether they've had any success or not.

I've not seen any hint of that being discussed on here by anyone from those schools. Maybe I missed it. For the five public schools from the EVSC in the SIAC, not having the two Catholic schools on the schedules (in all the gate sports) would be a big hit to the athletic department budgets. I don't see it happening.

Where in Indiana might that concern be creeping up?
