This week has the potential for 4 good games, albeit one is a "somebody has to win". MD will roll Bosse by whatever score they want. Bosse offers very little resistance. Central over Harrison 27-20 North over Lincoln 24-17 Memorial over Reitz 31-19 Castle over Jasper 21-20 Kudos to North Knox for making the trip to Evansville to play a JV game against Memorial last night since Bosse has no JV team...
-
Could see that coming with Mallory being out. When is the last time MD lost 3 in a row? Fortunately they have back to back byes the next 2 weeks before the West Side Nut battle with Reitz.
-
Don't need another member to split into divisions. If something isn't done soon I could see Bosse dropping football altogether. And Harrison and Central aren't too far behind IMO.
-
Memorial had 4 TDs on 7 total plays. This Bosse team may be the worst HS football team I've ever seen. At what point does the EVSC decide to push for a two division SIAC to give these kids a chance for success? No frosh team, no 8th grade team. No future...

Gibson Southern runs an NFL-caliber offense...

Memorial, Jasper and Lincoln with the "bye" this week. Losing the QB is a tough blow to MD, but I still think they can beat North. MD 24-21 I'll take Castle over Reitz. Castle 17-13.

Feel Good Story: Cascade

LOL. I knew that one was coming. MD may have taken a hit tonight when QB left game, helped to sideline and was later wearing sling. -
Agreed. Can they keep it within 3 scores to HH in the post-season?
-
WTF with the Reitz score? I thought they had an identity change last week?? I'm shocked that MD lost to Jasper.
-
I just don't see that ever happening.
-
I agree, even though most really don't take advantage of it... I can't imagine any of the PAC schools that would be suitable fits (BV, GS or HH IMO) would have any interest at this point. It's why the SAIC doing a 5 / 4 split is the only real option, but I recognize that is a long shot.

If I Had Elon Musk’s Money…
tango replied to Frozen Tundra's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Ev. Memorial would have free tuition and an incredible football stadium on campus. It actually wouldn't even take Elon-type money. -
MD is a good squad. Mallory is slippery and Thacker is a load. I don't see them losing another game in the SIAC and they will be a tough out in the tournament.
-
What does that mean?

I thought Outlaws and Inlaws had a nice ring.

Memorial, North and Reitz get the "bye" this week. I predict none will give up any scores until the JV enters the game. Castle beats Lincoln 27-13. GOTW is the Wildcat fight at Reitz Bowl. There were 4 big plays in the last 80 seconds last week that MD failed to make, which allowed Memorial to get the improbable OT W. I suspect it's been a good week of practice on Harmony Way. MD will bounce back with a 24-10 win over Jasper. So here is my question... When will the SIAC decide that 2 divisions in football would greatly benefit the hapless Bosse, Central and Harrison programs? At a combined 1-11, their only chance at winning comes when they play each other (Central got its W against Bosse). They hardly have any lower-level teams (cub/frosh). Every year its "we are young at most positions", which means little retention from year to year. You can't hardly blame the kids, nobody wants to put in the work just to get your @$$ handed to you every week. The coaches sound positive on the weekly shows, but what can they do? Put the 5 EVSC schools in 1 division and Castle, Jasper, Mater Dei and Memorial in the other. None of those 4 schools really want to play Central, Harrison or Bosse.

Jasper already picked up an opponent to fill the Wk. 9 spot for VL in 2026.

Do you mean the Hakka Tua? That I have no idea....
-
I think it says we won after being down 14 with 80 seconds left.

I heard there was some discussion between Memorial and New Pal, but I don't know if that is going anywhere. I can't imagine us ever scheduling a 6A, unless it was a lower-tier 6A, similar to what GS did a few years ago playing Southport. I would love to see Memorial and MD do something with Indy-are Catholic schools, but the SIAC's problem is the non-conf games will never be on the same weeks because of only having 1 open spot with the departure of Vincennes. It's why the SIAC need to go to 2 divisions and get Bosse, Harrison, Central off the schedules, plus they hardly have any fans so our homes games with them are essentially just our fans for the gate. I'd like the EVSC schools to be in 1 division and Castle, Jasper, Memorial and MD in another. That would really open things up for some good scheduling options.
