  1. On paper (and at this early stage) it has to be the game of the year in SW Indiana. There's a good chance that game will have at least one of everything except a unicorn. Already some Twitter smack going on and its still more than 2 weeks away..
  2. We graduated a lot of seniors from the squad last year. Our QB is back, lots of depth at skill positions, shifty RB joined us this year, OL/DL are young but decent size. As is most every year, it should be a very competitive game. Looking forward to the first socially distant, masked up tailgate of the season in Dubois County this Friday.
  3. @NumbersNvrLieNot just a segment, Coach Hart has a 30 minute show each week throughout the season. It is pretty well done. In the years we were in the same sectional I always enjoyed listening to it on Youtube, especially in the week before and after our games with them. If you listen to the list of sponsors they read off at the beginning, you'll understand why the station has the show. It is a loooong list, which illustrates the incredible level of support Coach Hart has in the south Gibson community. As evidenced in DumfriesYMCA's comments in (1) above, the GS folks believe in him, his staff, and the program. It's a position I think a lot of IND HS football coaches might enjoy finding themselves. Plus, GS has had some really good teams in Coach Hart's 8 years. As Titan32 has previously noted, with the exception of 2014, GS has lost to the eventual 3A state champ or runner-up every year - Chatard twice, Memorial 3 times, Brebeuf once, and Heritage Hills last year. Things have seemingly opened up a little bit for GS compared to prior years and they have a heckuva QB, so a lot of eyes are looking to see if Coach Hart can get them to the promised land this year.
  4. Pick the middle one. Always works for me. Whaddaya mean? They’re undefeated...
  5. JCats are rarely small up front. Tigers gotta stop the run to keep the W streak alive. Should be biggest crowd we will have all the entire season.
  6. LOL. Evidently Randall Parmley.... I heard WFIE might do 2 games each week? Shocking because their sports coverage isn’t near what the other channels usually have.
  7. LOL. Memorial and Mater Dei have been competing since 1949 so why not? Crossed on the east side as well.
  8. Randall Parmley put out the WEHT schedule on twitter last night. I haven't seen the WFIE schedule yet though.
  9. Lburg at GS would be great, if for no other reason than to get Stink Town Clown on here with the GS fans.
  10. Stinks the Wk. 2 game got cancelled with the team out of MO. Any word on if GS will get another opponent? Harrell lists Center Grove, Decatur Central, Guerin & Lawrenceburg as all having Wk. 2 open. I too am interested in hearing about Columbus North. Looks like they finished 2019 5-5 & #55 in SAG.
  11. It is a true honor to be mentioned in the same post as the one and only @Lysander.
  12. I’ll take Castle, Reitz, Central, Memorial and Lincoln, but the Panthers and Tigers won’t cover those spreads....
  13. LOL.. Masks, mail, red meat . . . what isn't political these days? As to my own school, it was a little frustrating (and slightly embarrassing) to see that we had a few fans in the bleachers who took their masks off. Wearing a mask really isn't that bad for a couple of hours. If nothing else, it shows the players that the parents and fans respect their efforts (and that of the coaches) over the last 6 weeks to at least put us in the best position to be able to play on Friday nights.
  14. I don't know how old he is or how long Coach Hart was at Mt. Carmel, IL, but he came to Reitz in 2003, then to Warren Central in 2008, then in 2012 back to IL for a 4 yr stretch at Huntley, then to Brownsburg in 2016.
  15. Central is the SIAC team to beat in 2020.
  16. Memorial at Castle. Officials wore masks. Both sides of fans did pretty well. Some took their masks off but overall I’d say B+.
  17. Yep. I'm just spit-balling, but if COVID restrictions start to ease up and stadiums can bring in more fans, then I think it is more likely we see a "normal" tournament. If not, then the IHSAA has less incentive to conduct the tournament. They makes their football money in 3 weekends - Regional, Semi-State & State. If the fans are limited to 250/500/750 at game, then the IHSAA isn't going to make enough to justify doing it.
  18. I don't think the IHSAA is going to pull anything until tournament time rolls around. They have left decisions to local officials and local officials are working hard to get things in place.
  19. Yes. In July, the EVSC announced they were pushing their start date to 8/19 due to rising numbers in the community. The Catholic schools started back up last week as scheduled. I have not heard of any issues at Memorial so far. Mater Dei had to cancel Mon-Wed practices but as the article says, the results were false positives and they are now cleared to get back after it. C'est la vie...
  20. It will be interesting to see how things shake out once the EVSC returns to class.
  21. Dan Egierski is having Andy Owen on the radio show today. Should be interesting to hear what he has to say.
  22. Won’t more than a couple be needed, like say 6 for gents and 10 for ladies at each group?
  23. Just guessing, but I suspect the cost of bringing in enough portable loos will offset any revenue. The whole situation is just crappy if you ask me...
  24. Who is hosting?
