  1. I'm looking forward to this game. I'll take Chatard by 2 scores.
  2. Jasper in Dubois County? A dynasty? They have 2 sectional titles in 12 years.
  3. I don't disagree with you about the EVSC situation, but Mater Dei isn't losing kids to Memorial or anyone else but Reitz and to a much lesser degree, the charter school (Signature). Our football success of recent years has not translated to increased enrollment or transfers. We had a transfer from Bosse who came in after Christmas last year. In fact, our enrollment has dropped significantly over the last 4 years. We had 1 player this year (Weinzapfel) from the westside. His grandfather is Ralph and the whole family went to Memorial despite being from the St. Philips area. That is an unique and exceptionally rare instance.
  4. Well, it also depends on how you look at it. Mater Dei, for example, is in the position of charging $7,000+ for tuition and competing against schools nearby that are free. Mater Dei loses far more students from its own feeder schools to Reitz each year than it gains from the public grade schools. I would guess they maybe get 1-2 kids a year from public schools.
  5. I thought not having defined districts was one of the advantages only the the p/p schools had...
  6. Maybe 5 p/p champions? Would that be a record? Not predicting anything, just making an observation. Best of luck to the Irish, Rebels, Trojans and Knights. I’ll sure miss being at LOS this year.
  7. I've been staring at it for 10 mins...
  8. Haven't seen Roncalli, but the score was pretty lopsided with a tough MV Fortville team I really thought might be the 4A champ this year based on how they looked last year when I saw them in person. Mooresville just squeaked by Central last week. I thought their size advantage would limit Central's running game. It didn't. My money would be on the Rebels this week by 10+.
  9. Chatard did the same in 2018 and arrived late to Enlow. Irish won’t have that problem this time.
  10. No obstacles like that this week. The largest hill around Castle is the crown on their football field.
  11. An article from the local paper today. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/2020/11/17/reff-aigner-help-spark-castle-class-5-a-semistate-berth/6294840002/
  12. Well said. Unfamiliarity of the opponents with their system is a big reason why I think Southridge has a good chance to join the club of winning state after being bumped up due to success factor.
  13. In 2018 Chatard beat Cathedral 17-14, but lost in Semi-State 42-17.
  14. Why did you shut down the Southridge / Lawrenceburg thread? Nothing objectionable being discussed, nothing inflammatory. Seems odd. Nobody shut down the other Regional game threads.
  15. I don't think Chatard looks unbeatable this year. I haven't seen Danville since 2017, but having seen Southridge last week, I would not consider them to be huge underdogs at LOS.
  16. You guys sure know how to kick a Titan when he's down.
  17. I saw Whiteland early against Gibson Southern and am obviously familiar with Castle. I've also watched Cathedral on ihsaatv. This game will be running clock to start the 3rd Q.
  18. My comment wasn’t an indictment of Webo. Just making a comment about our past experiences. But for what it’s worth, Coach Goebel didn’t make it sound as though there was much working together on a time...
  19. Lawrenceburg better get it together or they’re gonna get blown out.
  20. When Lawrenceburg played at Memorial on Saturday in 2017 Regional the start was 5pm EST. When we played Danville the following week at their place on Saturday for Semi-State it was a 5pm start. It isn’t a hard concept.
  21. On radio this morning Coach Goebel was discussing start time and said if Saturday game Webo said noon. It sounded Then like Coach was leaning Friday, and that's obviously when it will be. Good luck to the Wildcats.
  22. Harrell has this as 56-0. I've never seen a semi-state game predicted to be so lopsided. Worst part of the drive this time of year is the deer all along I-69.
  23. I agree. I truly believe that if we had our normal 3500+ fans in the Enlow grandstand last week that we would be the team playing Mooresville this week instead of Central. But c'est la vie. Aside from that, not having the weekly tailgates and seeing friends and family at games has been a true bummer this season. Good luck to you guys tomorrow.
  24. Amen. Yes, that was a cold night. Fortunately, I was asked to heat footballs with a torpedo heater on the sideline so I was toasty warm. The coldest I have ever been was the Danville Semi-State game in 2017 when it was an otherwise tolerable temp of low 30s but the sideways rain and sleet made it brutal.
