Cathedral was supposed to go back to 4A in 2019. The rule that required 3 points to stay up was changed to 2 which made them stay in 5A. The sectionals were released with Cathedral in 4A and then re-released after the rule change kept them in 5A.

Has this changed? Back when my son played, Lawrence, Perry, and Fishers/HSE all had teams. Those all feed into 2 different high schools

I can honestly say after watching some of these games last fall, that you are wrong with all of these comments. With your attitude it appears that they will be better off without you officiating these games!! The girls that played with, and against, my daughter appeared to be having fun, and there really wasn't any complaining by any of the coaches that I saw.

As a parent of a player, I can honestly tell you that CROWDS were not a thing for Girls Flag Football. Also, some of the games were not played on football fields. They played one week in a city park and one week was on a high school baseball field. My daughter's team had some basketball players, a couple softball players, and some track athletes. My daughter's main sport is actually gymnastics.

5 teams met at a host school and played( 3 games total, the host school played twice.) The gametimes are relatively short(like 1 hour per game). It looks like the Colts made the schedule and sent it to the schools. I know my daughter had a mouthpiece, but I'm not sure if it was required.

MY daughter played on her school's flag football team last fall. They played on saturdays in the morning.

The losing county will have to change their name to a symbol that will mean "The county formerly know as..."

I don't think there is LONG-TERM data. I think Iowa just implemented this system in 2023.

I was at a college tailgate this weekend and another football parent mentioned this about Iowa. I think someone on here was advocating for something like this in Indiana.

They played last year. Cathedral won 42-0 in 2023.

With the Success Factor changes last year, if LN was to win the Sectional 5 this year Cathedral would go back to 5A in 2025.

In 2016 it was changed to 3, then in 2019 it was changed to 2, and now it back to 3.

This change just moves it back to what it was before 2019. Pre-2019 it was 3 points to stay up, then in 2019 they changed it to 2 points to stay up.

Not much hype in Indiana, but MaxPreps has it as the #8 game of the week.
