Damn, I have heard it all now. IU, who was beyond an afterthought coming into this year, with no 5 star recruits on their entire roster, is now an experienced, loaded team with a bunch of guys from James freaking Madison and that gives them an edge over Michigan and all of their 4 and 5 star recruits? And now, being the bitter man about IU’s success this year, you are going to root another school who bleeds 4 and 5 star recruits because IU is cocky and arrogant? I literally have heard it all now… You do realize that nobody had IU finishing in 2nd place in the Big 10 conference this year, right? Most had them 17th with all their experienced players and “stellar” recruits from James Madison. Michigan might very well be the biggest disappointment in college football this year and you give them a pass. One of the worst coaching jobs in all of football by Moore yet you act like Moore is a great coach. What a joke…
-
Just like you defended Warren Central to the hilt this year. Just like you cite Michigan as a rebuilding team this year with 4 and 5 star players all over their roster. Just like you thing that Moore is a great coach in his first year at Michigan with virtually no head coaching experience at any level, but you take potshots at Cignetti who has won at every level he has coached at. Just like you will back away after Alabama lays the hammer to Michigan in their bowl game citing how Michigan is depleted this year and the result should be expected despite having 4 and 5 star recruits all over their roster. Sigh…

5 minutes more than I want to put into it. I’ll pass. You know, the best part of Navy vs. Notre Dame was when Navy beat Notre Dame 3-4 years in a row with zero scholarship players while the Irish had top 5 recruiting classes each year and were still cheating. There you go, you got 2 minutes out of me

Always more than 1 delusional person out there… lol

Sorry, not on board with ND being iconic. I think of quite a few schools before thinking about the Irish. The name does nothing for me. You really think that the kids today care about Knute Rockne? I bet that 80% of the kids today have no idea that Joe Montana played at ND, 100% of the kids would not know who Vegas Ferguson was or what position he played much less what school he went to. Here is iconic: Almost any kid playing basketball today still knows who Michael Jordan is, any kid for the next 30+ years will know who Tiger Woods is, they are iconic
-
I agree with you, but IU had no control over who they were scheduled with in the Big 10. IU has a tougher road next year for sure
-
Iconic? Cmon bro!!! When was that last Natty? Hell, when have they been actually relevant on a national stage over the last 30 years? Maybe 3-4 times. Every year, they recruit at a top 10 level and every year they flop. Iconic brands in college football are Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia, etc… These are teams that win the Natty or are very close almost every year. Where is ND’s credentials in the last 30+ years to put them in that group? I will wait…
-
Love this bashing on IU’s schedule, but turn back the clock one year. Michigan and Washington played for the Natty, who knew that the following year both would tumble and be mediocre? Yet, people bash IU’s soft schedule in the Big 10. They play who they are scheduled against in the conference. Now, I can get on board with bashing their non conference schedule. They just followed the blueprint of almost the entire SEC when doing non conference schedule.

Please tell me what ND’s record against Navy is over the last 40 years? That will demonstrate that you don’t know what your talking about

BTF, ND has been ducking joining the Big 10 for years. They decided to play 5 teams in the ACC annually instead, which has been a cakewalk for the Irish. How does that make sense? Join the Big 10 and play teams in the Midwest or let’s travel South where we can play cupcakes. Then, the Irish continue the charade of playing Navy each year, MAC schools who they inexplicably lose to, and then whine when they have no chance to get a bye in the CFP. As far as Notre Dame finishing in the top 4 in the Big 10, maybe 2-3 times they do in a 10 year cycle, certainly not 7-8 times as you suggest. This year might have been a year where they finish in the top 4, but most years, nah. Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Oregon, Washington and then the middle of the conference where teams like Iowa, Wisconsin, now possibly Indiana, USC. None of those are guaranteed wins for the Irish. We can all bash Michigan and Washington this year, but remember, those teams played for the national title last year. Both those teams will reload in the future. The ACC is a joke and that’s where ND hangs their hat…

Uh, my family room with the big screen tv and a 12 pack is just fine for me, thank you

Indiana gets Notre Dame in the first round at Notre Dame on a Friday night in prime time. Should be a great atmosphere and an opportunity to make a big statement on the national stage. Honestly, if they can win the first game, I fully expect them to beat Georgia.

Temp’s Top 25 (Final)

New Pal isn’t top 10 and DC isn’t top 15, what a joke -
Personally, IU should be a #7 seed and hosting #10 Georgia. Welcome to 20 degrees and snow, Bulldogs!!!
-
Temp, love the debates with you, but always stirring the pot with attacks on North teams is a bit much. We all know your love for the South teams in all classes, we get it. Front runners are all the same, never state their favorite team and always attacks others favorite teams leaving themselves basically unattackable. 6A is ruled by Indy, I know it, you know it , everyone knows it. The other 5 classes are wide open. I will consider you a Warren Central fan until proven otherwise…

Man, they deserve to host a playoff game. Not their fault that both teams in the national championship game last year both were mediocre this year, Michigan and Washington. As long as they host a game, would love to see them play Notre Dame or Georgia.

2023 Purdue Boilermakers/2024 Purdue/ 2025 Purdue/2026 Purdue
Komets2727 replied to PHJIrish's topic in The Next Level
Look at IU, they corrected their issue with a brilliant hire and using the transfer portal. The jury is still out if this is sustainable for IU, but their coach is dynamic and he gets complete buy in by the players. I just believe Purdue is in a far worse position than IU was before Cignetti. You bring up Cal, beautiful weather, beautiful campus, I am going there long before I would consider Purdue. Big 10 is a brutal conference to play in when you have no players and you are going to get your ass handed to you weekly. They have to nail it with their new hire and hope that Coach can change the culture overnight -

By far, the worst team this year, but, in reality, I really believe it is the worst job in the Power 4 conferences. The cupboard is completely empty, the crappy players they do have are exiting quickly, the lack of effort given all year was abysmal, and the administration just plain sucks. I thought Hope and Hazell years were the bottom of the ladder, but those were great years compared to this. -

Every one of those teams are better than Purdue. Why bring up NIL? It has done nothing for Purdue up to this point. Some of the teams you list are going to bowl games.
