Temp, I decided to do a bit of research about the CFP teams:
Indiana - 0-1 vs. CFP teams, lost to Ohio State, best wins Michigan, Washington
Notre Dame - 0-0 vs. CFP teams, best wins Texas A&M, USC
SMU - 0-1 vs. CFP teams, lost to Clemson, best wins Louisville, Duke
Penn State - 0-2 vs. CFP teams, lost to Ohio State and Oregon, best wins Minnesota, Washington
Clemson - 1-1 vs. CFP teams, beat SMU, lost to Georgia, best wins SMU, Pittsburgh
Texas - 0-2 vs CFP teams, lost to Georgia 2 times, best wins Texas A&M, Vanderbilt
Tennessee - 0-1 vs. CFP teams lost to Georgia, best wins Alabama, Vanderbilt
Ohio State 2-1 vs. CFP teams lost to Oregon, beat Indiana and Penn State, best wins Indiana, Penn State
Arizona State 0-0 vs. CFP teams, best wins BYU, Iowa State
Oregon - 3-0 vs. CFP teams, beat Ohio State, Penn State, Boise State, best wins Ohio State, Penn State
Georgia - 4-0 vs. CFP teams, best Tennessee, Clemson, Texas 2 times
Boise State - 0-1 vs. CFP teams, lost to Oregon, best wins Nevada, Oregon State
What does this mean? Well, it tells me Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon are a combined 9-1 vs. CFP teams, the other 9 teams are a combined 1-9 vs. CFP teams. Notre Dame played none of the teams in the CFP, neither did Arizona State. Texas and Penn State are a combined 0-4 vs. CFP teams. Outside of Oregon, Ohio State, and Georgia, lots of mediocre best wins for the rest of the teams
