  1. Growth in the eastern edge of St. Joe county is slowing, population is shift a bit north acrossed the stateline to Edwardsburg. The Eddies have some dudes that in the past may have been Kingsmen.
  2. DT is making up both sides of the arguments and debating himself.
  3. There are many things as a Bremen fan I like about the NIC. The games are all close. No drive any any sport is more than 50 minutes. I like competing against Marian. We never had a private school on our football schedule. I like Riley. Bremen and Riley communties have been linked for years and we never competed against each other. The drive down Miami Road is easy. Bremen and Riley folks shopped at the same stores (Scotsdale Mall, Venture, Menards), had dinner at the same resturants (Steak and Shake, Hacienda, Texas Roadhouse, the old Chik-Fil-a in the mall), went to the same movie theatres (Showplace 16, bowled in the same bowling alleys (Chippewa). Yeah, Bremen is a rural community but have always been very much in the umbrella of the southside of South Bend. I like the fact that the schools compete against each other, and hopefully Riley enjoys the games with Bremen.
  4. The same thing can be said for a lot of other programs with schools in the conference. Penn is about the only school that competes well in all sports. The 3 smaller schools have ups and downs with athletic programs, but so does everyone else. Bremen just split the south division, should of probably of won it outright last year, but the athletic trainer past away that week and it emotionally drained a good Bremen football team. Jimtown is Jimtown, they will compete because it is in their DNA. Glenn has been down talent wise, and also had a string of bad luck with coaches coming and going. When that place is rolling, they are a competitive bunch.
  5. Marian would be a good addition to you schedule. I have a lot of respect for the Knights.
  6. My gut says Pioneeer. But Coach Howtrawser has a system building. This is a program defining game for LaVille. What LaVille has done in the last 6 years or so in athletics has been impressive. A lot of positives taking place there beside just football.
  7. I think you're half correct, half lazy. There is more to be said than just quick snippets.
  8. Bremen had 140 yards total. 20 yards or so in the second half. 5 turnovers were forced by LaVille.
  9. Elkhart Central and Elkhart Memorial. Both teams deserve to be recognized for their efforts in rounding out that rivalry. The Elkhart Lions may be a new force to deal with up north starting next year.
  10. Big news for Marian alums. Zander Horvath on top of the depth chart at Purdue, and Kirk Barron signs with the Bengals.
  11. Clay and NP flip flopped spots, but they had holes in their schedule.
  12. You may be right, but teams improve most from week 1 to week 2.
  13. From what was described to me, Bremen was sloppy and uninspired. LaVille is a step or two ahead of Bremen all night. The Lions are young, and the QB is going to have to learn by trial by fire. The 2nd week is always a measuring stick for growth. I am interested in seeing if the young Lions can clean things up and compete with Riley this week.

  15. A friend of mine is optimistic about the defense for Bremen. Very athletic group that wants to hit. Offense is the question mark. Young QB, in his first start will have jitters. Huffman at TE could be a valuable safety valve for him. Wogoman, got carries at running back last year, so he isn't completely green. He will carry the load. He is an all-state caliber linebacker that loves contact. It will be interesting to see what he does hauling the rock. I think this game is tight.
  16. Good Articles, totally respect the program that NP has become the last 20 years.
  17. I know so little this year. I expect Bremen to take some lumps, LaVille has a good team. The young Lions have to be ready to go right of the bat. The senior leadership will be leaned heavily on. There is some talent on this squad though, just may take some time to develop.
