    I think in our case, we have been split too. By having that extra person out there, you can be setting yourself up for something odd to happen. I am of the mind to kill it so that kind of thing doesn't happen. 12 on A we can easily make a false start, 12 on B would be a little more difficult to come up with something.

    Definitely not doubting the possibility of it. I am sure he has matured and gained valuable experience from last year. I do hope they do well, but it is a tough sectional, and it is possible the team that makes it out of there can go a ways.

    Unless Gibson Southern's QB has beefed up a bit, I feel like this is a bit of a stretch. We had them when they played Henderson County last year. Granted, conditions were not ideal, but if you rattled him and he had to move around, he was not very effective. He is only a sophomore, so he is going to mature and improve, I just don't think this year is the year for that.

    There was a game my senior year at Jasper where Southridge was dominating us in the wishbone (I believe it was, may have been Wing T). Then for some reason, they went away from it.

    We discussed it at our association meeting and it was pretty universal that the hit we saw was legal. We used this chart from the case book to come to that conclusion:

    As an official, this can be difficult, especially on the receiver. We had a scenario where the receiver caught a pass and was immediately hit. He did not appear to have time to see the hit coming and laid on the ground afterwards with an apparent injury. How should we view those hits? It looks especially bad when the kid gets hurt, but at the same time it appears to be a good football play.

    We had a concern with even two coaches. We had coaches critiquing our penalties, spots, and enforcement.... For a scrimmage....

    We have an opening on 9/13, but that is a bit too far for us, even with travel covered. We live in SW Indiana. Our crew chief had an idea that if someone had a game as far north as Indy, maybe we could take their game and they could take the Cass game. But we do not know too many officials north of Bloomington.

    Toss a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. Get chewed out by the coach (if he directed his player to do that, he should be fuming), march off 15 yards, start the clock at the ready if there is time left. Start the van....

    It looks like they were able to find some closer games to home. The PLAC was filling out their schedule for a few years. They still have Paoli though.
