Coach Buening at Southridge is coach and AD

There are a few that are bigger, but not many. South Knox does not have a team, and they would be right on the bubble of 1A or 2A in football. Biggest 1A school is Park Tudor at 378, South Knox has 379. Henryville has 299 and they are one of the biggest schools in 1A for baseball.

Luke is a personal friend of mine. He comes with coaching experience at Forest Park (while he was student teaching), Jasper (volunteer), and Springs Valley. He is a 2003 graduate of Jasper and played at Hanover College. What system will he run... I do not know that.

I can attest for Pike that 4, 5, and 7 are not relevant. Administrative support is very present as is the community support. 7 is a direct result of 3 or vice versa. Our current coach is working his tail off to fix the issues that do exist. Numbers were higher than in years past this year. We had a small senior class, but a large freshman class. I cannot speak to what is coming up from the middle school though.

How Are Officials Selected For, And Advanced Through, The Tournament?
SoIndRef replied to Bobref's question in Officiating Forum
We have had glowing observations, with stating that we are capable of going as far as the process can take us, which would be regional. We got a second round. It is disappointing to hear that the observers do no have as much influence as they should. -
How Are Officials Selected For, And Advanced Through, The Tournament?
SoIndRef replied to Bobref's question in Officiating Forum
We've been told that there are roughly 18 observers in the state, with 12 of them in the region. If that is the case, it would be hard to get observers down south of Indy. We get observed when we are close to an interstate or closer to Indy. We have caught the attention of an observer near Indy, so he actually did come down to a game that was a bit of a trip for him, but a lot of crews are not that lucky. -

How much influence do observers have? If a crew is sitting a spot or two away from a sectional final, does a positive rating from an observer push that crew to get a game they may not have otherwise? -

I know, as a crew, we have made a concerted effort to study the heck out of the officials manual that, I assume that you had some input on. It made us evaluate not what we call, but how we do it and how we look when it comes to presentation. I know we have focused on our B and R triangulating in on a play at the sideline. One game, a play was on the opposite side of me (I am the HL), and I watched both of them close in on the sideline, and it looked darn good. We have noticed our game awareness increase and our confidence. We feel like we have made that jump to be worthy of a sectional final. We have been told as much by an observer, we just have to have a little bit of luck with the vote. -
So would an equitable penalty be Unsportsmanlike Conduct? Directed to the coach?

After games are over, he’s on the radio for almost two hours talking to coaches and broadcasters from around the state.

The process is better than it was. The coaches vote used to be 100%. So I like this process better than others. Is it so hard to believe that officials that consistently work their way through to the state are just the best crews? Some people just get butt hurt.

Lawrenceburg v Rushville
SoIndRef replied to Purdue Pete's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
The video is from this year. Brian Lewis is sitting in on it, and he just was hired at the IHSAA. Also, they are talking about shortening the game. That is what the rules allow. Not running the clock. If both coaches agree to shorten the remaining periods to 5 minutes, THAT is the rule interpretation. Not a running clock. -

SoIndRef replied to bigfish's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
There are two jamboree formats going on in the South this Friday. There will be three teams at each. It will be broken into three 15 minute periods. Not sure how it is going to work?!? -
More information will follow, but this is no longer accurate.
