  1. Cascade Speedway Scecina Lutheran Triton Central
  2. Lutheran 54 Triton Central 41 Final
  3. Lutheran 33 Triton Central 7 Halftime
  4. Speedway Lutheran Scecina Linton (hope to be wrong here)
  5. I'd like to hear more about Tri/North Decatur in sectional 46. Can ND consistently stop Tri's monster running back?
  6. South Putnam. No one has talked about South Putnam, but they might be the toughest out in the 1A south. The way the ping pong balls bounce, Lutheran/South Putnam might just be the first round game in sectional 47.
  7. Ritter doesn't have much depth. They lost a player to injury in week 1, and the starting RB went down in the 1st half on Friday. Their JV game with Lutheran last Monday was cancelled.
  8. JV began subbing in during the 2nd quarter and scored the last TD of the 1st half to make it 55-0. JV scored twice in the 2nd half, the last on a pick-six. Unfortunately, no one was streaming the game.
  9. I'll bite: Since this is a 1A thread, where is the coaches poll flawed? Replace Covenant with Pioneer, and I think the coaches came remarkably close for an early season poll.
  10. Cascade Lutheran Monrovia Speedway Triton Central
  11. I'm with Coach O in week 1: Triton Central Lutheran Monrovia Scecina Speedway: Very interested to see if Covenant can match up in this game.
  12. There are no Catholic schools left in 1A. Mission accomplished!
  13. The spread wasn't much different before last year's game. We all know how that turned out.
  14. Parke Heritage/Lutheran would be at Parke Heritage.
  15. Lutheran 43 Traders Point 6 Final
  16. Speedway 0 Lutheran 37 Final Lutheran wins ICC outright.
  17. You picked the wrong player to whine about. Both older brothers attended Lutheran. He attended one of the Lutheran feeder schools. Parents decide where their kids go to school. They have the freedom to choose a school other than the closest union-operated government school.
  18. I've been critical of the Indy Star in the past, but they've given the 1A schools fair coverage this year. Latest: https://amp.indystar.com/amp/4298055002?__twitter_impression=true
  19. All schools feed into the Jr. Saints program (grades 1-8). Of the feeder schools, none of them have the numbers to field an independent team.
  20. No one will ever convince me that Scecina would not have cruised to the 1A title in 2013. LCC was younger, on average, than the previous title runs, and Scecina had 23 seniors. Had they not come up against Purichia & Co. from Ritter in the regional, they might have come out of the south in 2A.
  21. Probably the last time Covenant Christian gets LuHi film when their cameras malfunction.
  22. There are 16 Missouri-Synod Lutheran churches in the Indianapolis area that support LuHi, 6 of them with elementary schools. Four of the elementary schools on the south side (Calvary, St. John, Trinity, Zion) are the primary feeder schools. Our Shepherd on the west side and Holy Cross-Geist in the northeast are a bit of a hike, but do provide a few students. Missouri-Synod Lutherans don't have a CYO equivalent program by congregation/parish. Like the Lutheran schools in Ft. Wayne, there is a single football feeder program for kids from from the elementary schools. Unlike the Holy Cross program in Ft. Wayne, the Indy Lutheran Jr. Saints are open to any interested elementary school players from 1st-8th grade. The majority of the kids who enter the LuHi football team from non-Lutheran schools come through the Jr. Saints. However, after 14 seasons the retention of 7th/8th graders as freshmen still averages below 50%. There have been several contributors on nearby public school rosters who came through the program.
